ok even though i worked the show doing sound, i'll do the results to the best of my knowledge:
Commentators:Selena & JJ
Opening: JJ comes out and cuts a promo talking about not working with CC again, "Killing in the name of" hits, CC Laselle comes out to a good pop, CC then starts talking smack about chris mooch, shortly later Chris Mooch comes out gets in the ring and corners CC, JJ then says "Karma's a Bitch" and Mooch gives CC an Exploder, and some security then carry CC out.
Next JJ introduces DPW Owner Mike E Milano out. Mike comes out and cuts a promo putting over the fans, and then puts over Chelle The Ring girl for all the things she's done for the past months in the Dojo. he starts a "Chelle the Ring girl" chant.
First Match: Proving Grounds Students Match
Sevin Vs "Jonathan" (I don't remember his name all i probably know is that i believe he was on the cover of the Waterbury Rep Am, the one with the DPW article)
A decent match for these two Proving Grounds students making their professional wrestling debuts, the crowd was Hot for this match and what would come after. In the end Jonathan wins after getting the pin when Sevin argued with the ref,
post match Students match/Second match: Hound Dog Vs Tony Devito: Hound Dog comes out and beats up on Jonathan & Sevin, including giving a splash to both students of the 2nd rope. Tony Devito then comes out and starts fighting with Hound Dog including using a ?box? fan (one of those square fans), he gets in the ring and double clotheslined the students. then He gives Sevin a Uranage & Jonathan a Crucifix sitout powerbomb. Tony then Piledrives Hound Dog and the crowd does the 1, 2, 3. Devito wins this one. The Crowd was so hot for this one
Third Match: Elimination tag survival match
The Untouchables Vs Black Rage Vs Mooch & Tsunami Vs mystery Team
Untouchables come out first, then Black Rage with MT Cracka, Then Mooch & Tsunami, then the mystery team....DYLAN KAGE & RON ZOMBIE SUDDEN DEATH. The Crowd is suprisingly pro-Zombie with "We Want Zombie" chants and anti-Dylan. the first Elimination is The Untouchables being eliminated after some miscommunication between the partners. Throughout the match whenever Zombie gets Tagged in, Dylan tags himself in, so there was troubles between the two throughout the match. the 2nd Elimination is Mooch and Tsunami when Mooch took a Kevork from Dylan, Zombie tagged himself in and then gave Mooch a soul crusher DDT for the elimination. Final 2, Black Rage & a not-on-the-same-page Sudden Death. the end was this, Ron held Guillarme De Sade while dylan set up for a Kevork, and ends up missing De Sade and hitting Zombie, Bobby Ocean throws Dylan out of the ring, and Guillarme gets the pin and the win for Black Rage in probably their biggest win in their careers.
Post Match, Dylan cuts a promo on Zombie and then slaps him, Zombie then lays Dylan out with a Soul Crusher DDT. That's the end of Sudden Death.
Fourth Match, J-Busta Vs Kid Mikaze
A real good match between the two, they took it outside the ring, Mikaze did his off the wall frankensteiner. in the end Kid Mikaze hit the Perfect Weapon for the 1,2.(bell rings) the match is a 10 minute time limit draw, a little while later they both shake hands in respect for a great match.
Selena then comes up and puts over her radio show, and then introduces "East Coast Intesity" Jose Perez. Jose mentions that we will see Kid Mikaze & J-Busta go at it again. He also mentions the fact that he came here to this anniversary show because this is his home, he also makes some sort of reference to being in Boston. He then gets in the ring without a mic and cuts a promo mic-less, on the DPW heavyweight championship and DPW itself, he puts over the fans numerous times and mentions that DPW is built on Pride.
Fifth Match:Dirty Water Street Fight: Avil Graves Vs Mike E Milano
This match went everywhere including outside, I didn't see what happened outside. They both got busted open, then Del and Chris mooch came in a double teamed Mike, Jason Knight Came in for mike and took on both Del and Mooch, Ron Zombie then Came in, we all thought he would help Del, Avil and Mooch, nope, he attacks all 3 of them, Mike gets the pin on Avil.
Post match-Avil Canes Mike from behind, Jose Perez then comes out and makes the save, Jose then takes the singapore cane and breaks it in half over his knee.
Intermission
JJ announced that the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels were unable to make the show due to KC Blade being rushed to the ER, and also Defiant Divas champ Ariel could not make due to a family death. So the DPW Tag Team title match would become Dredded Gunns Vs the winners of the tag Survival match, Black Rage
Sixth Match:DPW Tag Team Titles: Champions:Dredded Gunns w/Ravishing Ryan Coxx Vs Challengers:Black Rage w/MT Cracka
a great match between the two teams, a couple shows ago Chris Mooch, who a year ago was doing pre-show matches got his first shot at the DPW tag team titles, now another former pre-show wrestler in "The Shaft" Bobby Ocean gets a shot at the tag team titles for the first time. a great showing for both teams with a hot crowd pro-Dredded Gunns, Ryan Coxx was chasing MT Cracka around the ring and even into the ring a couple times. in the End Dredded gunns came out victorious and retained the tag team titles.
Seventh Match/Semi Main-Last Man Standing Match: Big Jim Sullivan Vs Lenn Oddity
Crowd was 100% pro-Lenn, the match went outside and inside the ring, with plenty of times that were only good for 8 counts. The end was Big Jim Sullivan, after hitting numerous lariats, Climbing out of the ring, grabbing a roll of Paper towels and Lighter fluid, he rolls his arm up in toilet paper, drenches it in lighter fluid, lights it, and give Lenn Literally a "Burning Lariat" with his arm on fire. Jim gets the win, lenn is burned. Most if not all fans were happy with Big Jim, but he ever since last year has been a dominant force in the hardcore matches of DPW going back to June 06.
After some clean up of the ring & Raffle & 50/50 were being done it's time for our MAIN EVENT!!!
Eighth Match/Main Event-DPW Heavyweight Title Champion-Slyck Wagner Brown Vs Challenger-"The Promise" Antonio Thomas
This was a great match these two gave it their all, the end was this Ref Sal got squashed in the corner, and Slyck put on a Texas cloverleaf on Antonio with no referee to see Thomas tap, The Thomas hit's the Promised Land for the 1,2...Kickout. Then slyck a couple times tried to hit the Appreciation Bomb, he finally does it for the 1,2,3 and retains his title.
Post match-Slyck gets the mic and tells Thomas out of all oppenents he's faced as champion, Antonio was the one who was his toughest. They shake hands in respect.
Next show is a TV taping Sunday September 2nd.
Match of the Night-Slyck Vs Thomas
Thoughts: a great show, enough said. |

Fury that was a pretty decent report except for one thing. The first match between Jonathon and Sevin was won by Jonathon when Sevin was arguing with me about a pin count, Jonathon came up and rolled him up from behind for the 1,2,3.....don't short the poor kid on his debut. But, i will tell u this, i was proud for the both of them. |

Great review RFury. What's this about Busta showing a sign of respect at the end of his match? That's the second time that's happened at DPW. Props to him. Maybe his attitude is changing. The guy certainly has talent, that's for sure. Has he turned face? I don't know if we should trust him...but hopefully he has.
Looks like a fantastic show. I'm sorry I missed it. Congrats to Mike on 3 years and best of luck to him and the Dojo for many more years. Can't make the show on 9/2, but hopefully the next one. Thanks again for the report! |

Sounds like a really good show, but maybe someone who didnt work for the show could add a review too, get a good crosssection. I hope Blade is ok, if that happened. I know EC Worked a show the night before alone, maybe Blade was a bit ill, and it got worse? They have been favorites of mine for years, and if anyone gets any info. Id hope itd be posted. |

Cool to see Mooch getting respect. Always liked the kid, very nice to us back when ACW was still around.
Sounds like it was a good show. Nice to have some crash style wrestling in the area to offset the more traditional feds. DPW is a fed where anything can happen it seems. And fuck, never thought there would be a burning lariat in CT. I knew I should have went.
What move is Mikaze's Perfect Weapon? |

I always liked Gore and Michaels. I hope they get some big matches in DPW. Maybe a feud is in the works. I don't know. |
