Brian drawing kids is all a promoter could want. Kids need parents. Odds are families. That is 2 to 3 tickets sold per one there.
Ironically, I would am I a fairly big Anthony fan and I know none of the kids.
Most are not at the PGW shows as well for what it is worth. |

Nice to see Brian Anthony get a nice opportunity like that.
Whether you like him or hate him you all seem to know who he is and what he does.
It's obviously not just him, NEW puts some decent muscle behind him it seems. Nearly every PGW video has him doing something, whether it be comedy or not.
He get himself out there. You have no choice but to know who he is. What really makes any wrestler special? It's all about being creative and getting attention. |

No hate here. Brian is a good worker with lots of potential but not at the level of Blade, Edwards, Fish or Bennett yet. And certainly is not a John Cena. |
Anthony has worked his way up from true awfulness to being a guy who can have a watchable match with poor to average wrestler and a good, exciting match with a good wrestler. To me that shows dedication on his part as he is obviously working hard to improve himself rather than going ''Oh, some teenage girls are screaming at me, so I must be a star". Is he as good as some make him out to be? No. Judging from some people in here you'd think he was the next Kurt Angle. That's crazy. That said, has he developed into a good wrestler who should continue to get better as he gains more experience? Absolutely.
As for the oh so annoying Anthonyholics, a ticket sold is a ticket sold, no matter who buys it. If you were a promoter and knew from observation and/or experience that a guy will probably bring in more than enough fans to offset the cost of hiring him and make you a few extra dollars, then, all things being equal, why *wouldn't* you want to use him?
Personally if I was booking a show in CT I'd definitely want to book this guy as a heel somewhere on the card. As a heel he pisses off the 'marks' because, well, he's a good heel, and he pisses off the 'smarts' because they hate him on general principle. How perfect!
What you want is somebody the people care about, whether they love the guy or hate him. Anthony gets a strong reaction [at least as a heel] and can deliver in the ring. If it wasn't for his size, I could definitely see him ending up in the WWE before his career was over. As it is, I wouldn't rule it out some day. For the record, the last guys I made that prediction for were Matt Striker and the Matthews & Myers tag team…and guess where they are now? [If anyone *really* has nothing else to do, they can dig through my old reviews in the DOI website archives and find the show reviews where I said it. They were still there the last time I looked.] |

The irony in this thread is too much, as a few years back the EXACT same things were said about Lethal.
Same with Blade when it comes to RoH and FiP. |

Every wrestler will always have a certain amount of people who hate on them. With Anthony, maybe it's because of his (too) early CCW push, or maybe it's just because of who knows what. They guy is neither as good nor as bad as most seem to think he is, but as I opined above, he's got talent and potential and seems to have a good work ethic. |
