Trent Reznor has done it again. Nine Inch Nails has released a new single, "Discipline," exclusively to radio this afternoon. The song was just finished and mastered in the studio yesterday, with a 24-hour turnaround to radio. The band will also allow radio stations to link online to an exclusive download of the song, as no one else will be licensed to release it for a few months. The band also promises "more news tomorrow," and Reznor posted yesterday on NIN.com, cryptically saying "2 weeks!" and nothing more.

The new tune:

thanks for the update enforcer

i love NIN, im listening to them as we speak right now

I also love TOOL, and unfortunatley i think their new album will be out in the next 2 years. Probably sooner than later. Tool needs to hang it up. 10k days was terrible. And thats saying alot coming from one of the biggest TOOL geeks ever.

I'm begging TOOL not to make another album. If MJK is all about $$ then just keep putting out that crap under the Puscifer moniker.

Listening to Discipline, i'm dissapointed. Maybe it will have to grow on me. I am on my way out, so i will listen to echoplex later.

What? Granted, it's nowhere near as good as Ænima, but to say it was terrible?

Ok, I got a little excited, 10kdays isnt terrible. I think some of it was really lazy writing (the interlude in The Pot comes to mind) and rehashed riffs from older Tool songs (H., Third Eye, Lateralus, etc).

I do believe Wings for Marie/10kdays is 'their epic song' on the record, and leaves me blown away every time.

Aenima just feels like a more complete album to me. Even though Aenima came out 12 years ago, it still sounds like an album that could come out today.

I expect alot out of NIN and TOOL because they expect alot out of their fans. Trent is a great musician, but I think he may be rushing through some of his newer stuff.

His two new singles sound like With Teeth left-overs. Not that that is a bad thing, but going back to TOOL, if i want to hear the older stuff..I'll listen to the older stuff. I thought Year Zero was great, mainly because it was something different.

So has anyone gotten this? I've heard it a few times and I've liked what I've heard even though he doesn't seem to breaking that much new ground like he did on "Ghosts". Can't beat the price though.
