I am definitely looking forward to the PGW show on 6/21! Should be one of the better CT cards of the year.

I'm still not leaving my car in that neighborhood. As soon as PGW runs someplace else, I'll happily be back.

LOL that used to be true for me too. The Cavalier was perfect that way, it looked so awful that no one ever bothered it no matter where I left it. It was great for taking to the Sheehan Center or South Philly, other than the minor possibility that the damn thing might break down there. (Which actually happened once outside the "ECW Arena". Fortunately the local Pep Boys fixed me right up the next day.)

I would just feel like an idiot if I got the new car vandalized because I simply *had* to go watch wrestling in an unsafe area. So I won't do it.

I'm just curious. How many incidents have happened, that YOU know of personally, involving vandalized/stolen cars outside of wrestling events in what you consider "bad" neighborhoods?

When paydays are short, I've been known to boost stereos and steal hub caps. One time in Connecticut I hit this Cavalier...very dissapointing. There really isn't a market for an in deck 8 track player or plastic Walmart hubcaps.

The area is fine. As neurotic as I am about safety, I have no problem going to the Sheehan Center (I wish I could on 6/21!). We've been to several CCW shows there before on a Saturday night, as well as event my husband's office was involved there I think it was last year. That was during the day. Never, ever have I felt threatened there. We don't have a Lexus or anything, but what I consider a decent car, and nothing has ever happened. I wouldn't for a minute hesitate going to this show because of the venue.

That's you, and probably others too. Adam and maybe others don't like the area either. I went w FF the time I went there, think it was only once. I don't like the area either at all, now it's not likely to keep me away, but Adam's point is well taken, and he's entitled to it.

Whatever. It's his decision. Doesn't make a hill of beans of a difference to me. It's not my fav venue either but I'd never miss this show because of that. DAMN IT!! TWO steel cage matches, too! Crying or Very sad

There'll be plenty of other shows for you to see. Enjoy yourself w your husband on a happy day for you. Wrestling isn't everyones cup of tea, and its cool you are going to have a nice time and dinner, which your husband would rather do

Yeah, well you know what I'D rather do.....ah, yes, the things we do for love. Anyway, Father's Day is the weekend before, and his birthday the weekend after so it really should be his call. And, though I love wrestling, I love my husband way more. This I have to say, is the ultimate sacrifice lol.

the venue is far from any real ghetto in bridgeport

and if Mr. Williams is telling you the area is nice, then the area is nice.

it's definetly not near where the garage shows were

Is the venue area really that bad? Is this just people's reaction because it is held in what they perceive to be a bad area or is there a real chance you can get caught in crossfire?

Well seeing how he couldn't answer the question. My point was that nothing ever happens... and if it does its very RARE. The reports of nothing happening outweigh the reports of something happening. I've shot plenty of shows in "bad" areas especially when USAPro was running in NY. (ohhh carrying big electronics in these bad areas Shocked ) Nothing happens when wrestling events are going on. I always hear people complaining about the area, but everytime i read a report or go to an event nothing bad is ever reported. again, its very rare. Grow some balls people and shut off the 5 oclock news! (news rots your brain) Just a suggestion, you should check out NCW (cheap plug!) when they run. They usually run in places that would best fit your level of comfort such as Willamantic,CT and Pomfret,CT!
