Just bought tickets with my friend last night. The card says that Petey Williams will be defending the X Title but I'm gonna guess thats changed because it's only been a few weeks if that since his injury. |

| Quick, someone call Vince so he can get the show canceled. |
Unless I missed some obvious sarcasm, you know that cancellation was a work to get over the VKM "War", yes? |
The show cancellation was a work? Wow, could have fooled me and my friends who were tossed around CT like a Yo-yo trying to find where they were holding the show after moving to a different arena due to fire code violations...and THEN learning that it was canceled do to more fire code violations when we showed up.
TNA Took a real event and turned it into a storyline. There was no work about it. They where in CT, had former DX members on their roster and decided to go with the flow and make the best out of what they could.
Damn noobs. |
A few things.
1. It always smelled to me like a woprk and a real show was never ever intended.
2. Watch who your calling a noob, I've been watching for 20 years. |
Check your nostrils. I was backstage. Rhino, Petey Williams, Americas Most Wanted, Abyss and the ring crew were all there. You got to have rocks in your head the size of Rosie O'Donnell's ass to think Dixie would waste company money and time getting all those guys over there for "a work". |

You really have to ask? |
I don't really know why people don't like them but what ever. |
The entertainment value in TNA is just SO incredibly low. The few times I've tried to watch the show, I end up just wanting to poke my eyes out with a hot metal rod. |

Just got back from TNA in CT and it was a super fun show.
somewhere between 700-1,000 people, but im not good with estimating attendence.
JB kept giving out backstage passes all night to different people which i thought was really cool.
First match was Alex Shelley vs. Cosiquenses Creed. Good solid opener with Shelley hitting the superkick into the air-raid crash **1/2
Johnny Devine came out and bashed CT and said he was going to show the office that he belonged in the King of the Mountain match by beating a giant in TNA. Matt Morgan came out to a huge homestate pop as some of his family members were also in attendence. Matt killed Devine in about a minute with the F-5. 1/4*
Eric Young vs. Rellik was up and was mostly a comedy match at the begginning and Rellik dominated most of it. Eric went to the floor and under the ring and then returned as SUPER ERIC!!! He made quick work of killer spelled backwards and won with the swanton bomb. *
LAX vs. Team 3D was next and Brother Ray was the biggest dick on the planet making fun of a bunch of little kids, 1 he called the Blue Meanie's son since he got blue hair and another he almost made cry, giving him huge heat. 3D controled most of the match and then for some reason Brother Ray left the match leaving D-Von alone. LAX made quick work of D-Von and won with the assisted Gringo Cutter by Homicide. **
After the match they brought the kid Ray was an asshole too and held him in the air and posed with him.
After intermission JB brought out Kurt Angle who gave a quick promo about TNA beating WWE in 2 years.
Awesome Kong vs. ODB was pretty much a squash as ODB got little offense in. Kong won with the Awesome Bomb. *
Rhino and Tracy Brooks vs. Ms. Jackie and James Strom was fun as Strom toyed with the crowd and insulted us the whole time. He hit a spikked DDT on Tracy during the match which was awesome. Rhino and Tracy won with a double gore. *1/2
Main event was Samoa Joe vs. Tomko which pretty good with a bunch of false finishes and they hit some of their trademark stuff. Joe won with the clutch. ***1/4
After the show Creed, Shelley, Morgan, Tracy, ODB, LAX, and Rhino came out to sign autographs and Kurt took pictures in the ring. I got my Global Impact DVD signed by Creed,Morgan, ODB, JB, Tracy, and Hernandez, which was cool, even though i just missed Shelley and Homicide.
Overall, the wrestling was ok but it was super fun with a hot crowd all night and it seemed like everyone had a good time. I will definatly go see TNA when it returns to CT. |

My camera wasnt allowed in... its to professional... yes.... no cameras with detachable or large/long lenses can be brought in, oh well. They had NO photographer at the show either.....
Id say attendance was 800-1000. The extreme left and right sides were blocked. Most of the cheap seats were filled, as was the stage and ringside area. The $50/70 seats were semi empty. Seems like people either wanted real cheap or real expensive.
This was the same format as the VT show. Same guy with the free passes to the fans, same "lines" jb used to hype the crowd, and what not. The format works and it keeps the show moving and the crowd into it.
The fans sucked... they were mostly wwe fans. They shouted and yelled wwe wrestlers names for the tna guys. Consequences Creed was Carlito, Awesome Kong was Vicera, etc etc etc.... The fans werent very knowledgeable about the product. They also werent very loud. The little kids were loud, and the teenagers, but, overall, mostly fans who had zero idea was TNA was. I feel most people were use to the WWE mentality, where you get up for the entrances/pyro, and, sit down and not care about the match until its time to stand up again. From overhearing conversations, fans were impressed w/ the merchandise pricing, and the fact TNA was very interactive.
These guys shouldnt have to kill themselfs on house shows to entertain. They are doing 80 house shows in 2008 plus impact plus PPV plus the guys own indy bookings. Samoa Joe is booked somewhere 3-4 days a week, every week. They do enough to entertain the fans and give us a good match. A house shows intent is to get you to watch the TV and ultimately, buy PPV's.
I had more fun in VT, as, the venue was smaller and the crowd was 1/2 the size ad, i got to use my camera! Plus the fans in VT were just there to have fun, cheer and boo.... these fans seemed to say dumb things, not have a clue about anything, and not get into it... but, thats CT wrestling fans for ya.
I hope everyone who checked it out from here had fun, and see's TNA has a great product and puts on quality entertainment... allowing you to meet the wrestlers for free for a 1/2 hour after the show, and really be up close with the whole event. |
