To all of those interested,
My name is Bryan Hebert and I do all of the Public Relations work on behalf of the promoter for Adirondack Pro Wrestling. In regards to the recent news of Jimmy Snuka being at the APW event in Highgate, VT on 5/3/08, I have some news to clarify the situation.
All of us were led to believe that Jimmy Snuka had been booked for the event. Our promoter went through a gentleman whose name I will not post who claimed to be doing bookings for Snuka. This person had apparently done bookings for him in Montreal and had references. It was two days before the event when I received word that Mr. Snuka would not be appearing and was not given specifics at the time other than Tony Atlas was gracious enough to fill in at the last moment. After an investigation we found that this was all a misunderstanding. APW's assistant promoter has spoken with Carole Snuka on the matter and it has been cleared up. It seems that this person had no business booking for Snuka and we apologize to our fans, the Snukas, and the wrestling community as a whole.
It is not APW's intention to falsely promote people on shows to get seats filled. In fact, once APW had started to learn about the matter, we immediately searched for a suitable replacement in Mr. USA Tony Atlas. In regards to Spike Dudley. Spike was unable to attend as he had not made it back from a previous booking in time. Again we apologize to our fans for this and we hope to see you again at an APW event soon.

Once again,
This person who we had talked to about Jimmy Snuka was posing as an agent. Our Promoter has talked to him on a few occasions and his story seemed to check out especially as he had references, cards, etc. I believe even another wrestler had backed his story as well. We have done shows in the past with APW as well as a previous promotion we had run with other names such as Tony Atlas, Petey Williams, Spike Dudley, etc. This is the first time we have ever had this problem. And no, we are not a fly-by-night promotion. We are here to stick around for awhile. As for our name, most of our fans see no confusion with Slam or ADK as they are completely different names and ADK runs mostly out of Mid-sate New York. As for the other APW, I can see where there may be a confusion and we are working to alleviate confusion with the fans of Vermont. Our Myspace page is currently being re-worked for the time being. In the meantime here are the results of our last show from indywrestlingnews.com

Thanks for the questions jd and if anyone else has any questions, feel free to post.

Adirondack Pro Wresting
Saturday night 5/3
Highgate Sports Arena
Highgate, Vermont
Ring Announcer: Shawn O'Vincent
Referees: George and Gary
Attendance: appox. 100
Commissioner William Rusho opens the show, thanking everyone for coming...then introduces Heavyweight Champ Shane Anderson. Anderson then "calls out" Tony Atlas. Shane says he grew up watching Tony and idolizes him, but Tony knows better, and says Shane is cocky and disrespectful. This hypes up the main event for later on.
1. "Bombshell" Bert Williams over "The Best Baller in Cruiserweight Wrestling" Timmy Aiight. Originally, Timmy won the match after using a cane as a weapon. The crowd yelled to the referee that Timmy cheated..then the referee saw the cane in the ring, and ordered the match to be restarted. Bert scored a pin of his own shortly after.
2. Former WWE star Max Moon over Nacho Libre's Carlos Roselas. Both wrestlers showed so much strength and power in this extravaganza, because a top turnbuckle snapped off a ring post when Carlos was thrown into the ropes! Both were able to continue the match with the top rope out of commission. The ring crew was able to repair the turnbuckle after the match.
3. Abraxas (with Morgana) over Johnny Toxic. After the match, Abraxas casted some kind of spell on Johnny, which caused Johnny to become Abraxas' new partner/friend. Shane & Eric Alden came out to interrupt the goings-on in the ring...and challenged this newly-formed team to a match for later in the show.
4. The L.A. Gunns (Matt & Michael Cage) over The American Revolution & Hillbilly Shawn Adams. One of the Gunns knocked out the Hillbilly with brass knuckles while the referee was distracted. The Hillbilly left the ring with a nasty bruise below his right eye.
Intermission for Polaroids with "Mr. USA" Tony Atlas...autographs with Shane & Eric Alden, Barbie, and Max Moon.
5. Shane & Eric Alden over Abraxas & Johnny Toxic (with Morgana). At one point, Morgana tried to get in the ring, but Barbie ran out to stop her. Barbie took care of business with several forearm shots to to the face and a few chops on Morgana.
6. The Hellraisers (Pain, Misery, & Damien) over The World's Largest Tag Team (Shooter Anthony Storm & Magnum Mike Mainiacal) & "Bombshell" Bert Williams in a six-man Highgate Street Fight to win the Tag Team Championship. Pain & Misery were awarded the belts...Anthony & Mike were the defending champions.
Before the main event, Commissioner William Rusho and Heavyweight Champ Shane Anderson presented a trophy of appreciation to Jeremy Powers, for his several years of service to independent wrestling in that part of New England.
7. In a championship match, WWE Hall of Famer "Mr. USA" Tony Atlas over Heavyweight Champ Shane Anderson by countout. Shane spent most of the match trying to leave the ring, but at one point, Hillbilly Shawn Adams and Magnum Mike Mainiacal came out and threw him back in. However, Shane was able to leave the ring later on.
Spike Dudley and WWE Hall of Famer "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka were advertised to appear, but neither were there.
APW is scheduled to return to Highgate sometime in August.
This APW promotion is not the same APW that is running in Rutland, Vermont in June. The Rutland event is Action Packed Wrestling. |

If you had read the other thread concerning this matter, Carol Snuka said that Jimmy was never booked. Therefore, Jimmy didn't "no-show" this APW event in Vermont. How can he be a "no-show" when he was never booked to begin with? It seems that Carol Snuka handles all of Jimmy's bookings...and according to her comments in the other thread, she was never contacted by this APW promotion in Vermont. Please refer to the other thread, and you should be able to figure out the difference between a wrestler no-showing and a wrestler not being booked to being with.

Also, I don't see the names any PGW wrestlers in the batch of results I posted. Therefore, I don't think any PGW wrestlers are involved with this particular APW promotion. However, they may be involved with ADK out of Noo Yawk. This APW Vermont promotion and ADK both seem to be calling themselves Adirondack Pro Wrestling. |
