I know some people get hardons when they can expose someone's private life here, and this is no different.
The Tv NEWS is the least reliable source of any information cause they never get the story straight and leave out facts.
Didn't that story Channel 12 in RI did when they called Dan Quirk a backyard wrestler prove that?? We all knew Dan and knew he was a trained pro. But the A-Hole who did the story didn't give a shit who he offended or hurt.
My point is this. None of us were there. The news channel got one side of the story.
And two, the incident has nothing to do with wrestling. Iron Sheik and Jim Duggan were caught with pot in the 80's. The biggest rule I thought they broke was kayfabe!!!!
I wish David the very best. I'm sure he's a great guy and being a former doorman myself, I'm sure there's more to this story, than a guy just minding his business and getting hit with a flashlight from a doorman.
TV news is sensationalist garbage and has a huge bias against pro wrestling (amongst other things, but this IS a wrestling forum so I won't go into that.:
Here's a prime example: The Mass Transit incident on Inside Edition. It's a TV Tabloid so it's even worse!

I will agree that tabloid tv is pretty sensationalistic most of the time but that youtube clip, well that was a pretty good recap of the events that happened that night in Revere.
Hey you wanna be a pro wrestler, you have to deal with the media, plain and simple.

I agree it seems to tell most of trhe story except it does not mention that Mass Transit wanted New Jack to make him bleed.
About the Fox News Story: Like Padula says, it don't seem like we are getting the whole story. The guy says he was at the club to talk to the manager about advertising. Ain't one o'clock in the morning a funny time to be talking about advertising?
I think the Mass Transit gimmick could've gotten over pretty well if he wasn't such an idiot and was legitimately trained. I find a fat bus driver called Mass Transit hilariously awesome
Kinda wish I was a gigantic fatass, I could mimic the gimmick and dress up like a postman and call myself "Mass Mailing" or something

DDD,
Eric was a close personal friend of mine. There's alot to this story....for one....It was supposed to be me that was there in Revere that night instead of him. Midget wrestler Tiny The Terrible asked me to drive him to the show 2 days prior to that Saturday. I was up for it. Saturday moring I was called into work, and not guarenteed to work at ECW, I went to my job, but told Tiny to call Eric aand his dad cause I knew he had tickets for the show and maybe they could give him a ride up to the show.
Eric knew exactlt what match he was getting into. He knew it wasn't a comedy show, but was coached into making statements that he knew weren't true. He was just a kid.
Eric was somewhat trained, but not enough to work outside of NEWA etc,,,and shouldn't have worked that show.
He called me the next morning at 7:30am and excitedly told me what happened. Eric has since passed away in 2002, so I don't want to disrespect him or his family, but it was not Eric who decided to make bad press out of this. If it was up to him, he would have thanked everyone in that lockerroom, New Jack included and might have had a pretty good career there and an opportunity to train at ECW's school.
Just a note..........Listen to the original tape closely......New Jack asks Eric if he is ok. Eric replies with, 'Yes".
