Why shit on a company that wants to showcase new talent still in training? Do you people have nothing better to do than to take a company and rip it apart all i see on this damn site is this company suck, your workers suck, get in shape, quit running shows. Ever think if you tell these guys to quit they are just gonna put on more shows no matter what you say so just stop being a dumbass and shut the fuck up. |

This group catches a lot of flack on here and after watching their videos, I understand why.
Where's the direction? What's the story? There's nothing to follow. It's just a bunch of guy's doing a bunch of moves.
You can tell that NLP wants to succeed and get their name out there, but god, get some real workers. Someone posted that this is a young group made up of "trainees". Well, when did it become acceptable to run a show that consists only of guy's that are in training? Not only that, but most of these guy's, trained or untrained should never step foot inside a wrestling ring period. |

Hell with it...I'll defend them to a point, but offer some advice.
There is a wide difference between guys who are trained to do moves properly and backyard kids. Having watched a few videos, the training of doing the moves smoothly and properly appears to be there. Everybody is "in training". Hell, I'M still in training. Every time I wrestle or practice, I find something new I can work on, something I can refine and sharpen.
The real question is if someone is ready to work matches.
Based on what I saw on the videos, yes...to a point. The biggest problem I see isn't a lack of preparedness or a lack of physical conditioning (someone claimed they needed to go to a gym. While not a pile of bodybuilders, most of them appear to be in OK cardiovascular shape). The biggest problem is very rarely does a show that involving 90 percent green guys working with each other going to hold water for the entire show.
I think they do a pretty good job considering their lack of experience...but the most telling example of this problem stuck out like a sore thumb after watching a few matches and then watching the tag match they posted here recently. The match in question was the Hoodz (hate that name, BTW) -v- the Bakers. The difference was striking.
The match had a flow to it, and the pace was good yet easy to follow. You knew who to boo, and who to cheer. Huge moves were not done to people, only to have that person fire back like nothing had happened. The heels (Bakers) put the Hoodz over in the beginning, making them out to be superior athletes. During the "heat", the heels didn't do a lot of big moves...basically, they did enough to make themselves look contemporary, but didn't do so much that they got the old golf claps which can kill your heel heat. The Hoods got the win at the finish, and everything came off pretty crisp. It was basic in it's presentation, but it worked. I would have to attribute that to the presence of NE veteran "Brickhouse" Baker, as it was probably the only match I saw that hit all these hallmarks. Since no other match had that kind of experience in it, I would have to assume he took command out there. By the way...while very young and thin, Brickhouse's kid looked pretty good out there. If the Bakers are reading this…your kid is pretty good. If your kid is reading this…DON’T LET THE COMPLIMENT GO TO YOUR HEAD!
I think if you sprinkle a few more guys with a lot more experience into the mix, and they have something-provided the young guys are willing to listen. |
