*THIS IS NONE OF MY BUSINESS - BUT*
No one called me or any of the other WOHW alumni that I still talk to...
Doesn't mean it isn't true but I have a pretty good relationship with the boys and I think I would have heard something...
Plus... None of this SOUNDS anything like the way WOHW conducted itself in the past so I don't know whats up.... |

Didn't I see something on here about a show up in Highgate Arena for August 30th? Maybe that's where I guess! Just too confusing! |

(Well the time has finally come ... The World Of Hurt Pro Wrestling Association has finally took the stand and is taking the spot light. We are booking shows in BENNINGTON VERMONT at the BENNINGTON NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY. The location of this outstanding facility is 100 Franklin Ave Bennington Vermont. The date of this show is August 30th and every weekend there on in unless the ARMORY has their own things booked and planned)
Did Conquest Pro Wrestling change there name? Cause the last time I knew Conquest was being booked there every month? |

Yeah so isn't Kayfab but that hasn't been around either. I'd like to go back old school ways, know what I mean! |

Kayfab and code of ethics among wrestling companies about working in buildings where other companies work? Both are dead is my point! |

Are you sure? Cause I remember the Territories back in the day would never cross into other rival promotions territories. You know back in the AWA, NWA, Stampede Wrestling. Before Vince McMahon Jr took over! How old are you anyways? Probably not old enough to remember! |

There were outlaw feds that tried to run in other territories. A prime example in IWA in the 70's. |
Sheldon's usually the history buff, but I've been reading a book on the history of the NWA. Good read, and I can help with this subject.
Promoters not running the same towns years ago had nothing to do with good sportsmanship or some code of ethics. The reason back then people didn't try to run the same towns was because the NWA essentially had a monopoly going. The were in fact investigated by and found guilty of several monopolistic and illegal business practices in the late 50's.
There were far less independent wrestlers in those days. 90 percent of the talent worked for NWA affiliates, and that talent would be blackballed if it worked for non-NWA promoters. Independent promoters were allowed to run cities in the local NWA promoter's area of influence, provided that city was not being run by the promoter in question already. Problem was, they had to pay the local NWA promoter a (I believe this is accurate, but I may be lowballing the figure) 10 percent booking fee and have him book the talent.
Many of the athletic commissions were also either connected or flat out being paid off by local NWA promoters. Back then, a lot of states and/or cities required a permit from the state athletic commission. The directors of the athletic commissions, frequently on the dole from the NWA, would stonewall and/or outright deny independent promoter's permit requests and often wouldn't back down short of a court order.
Even if an independent promoter could amass his own independent crew and bypass the local entanglements, the NWA would typically amass their best talent (including freeing up the world champion's dates to make him available) and send them into the city in question on either the same day or as close to the same day as possible at another in town arena. This would be done to intentionally look said independent promoter's show look bad by comparison and either make him compliant to the NWA or put him out of business.
Notable guys who tried to "break" the system; Eddie Einhorn (IWA that Enforcer noted); Verne Gagne to some extent, although he got away with a LOT; probably because he was financially part of the St. Louis Wrestling Club owned in majority by the longtime NWA president Sam Munich (but also by Bob Giegel, Pat O‘Connor and others); Paul Bowser operated with his own "World Champion" for several years; several people in the NWA thought Jack Pfefer was Satan incarnate; Fred Kohler of Chicago broke loose more than once. There are other less known guys as well.
For the record, at this stage in the game...the reason you don't go into another guy's town is for simple reasons of economics. Who the hell wants to split a crowd of 125 people?

And for the record, its KAYFABE not Kayfab. And as far as I know, this isn't Conquest changing their name. If it is, that is news to me. |

We will give as much notice of that change as possiable. WE ALL KNOW WHAT THE WORLD IS GOING THROUGH NOW SO LETS NOT FORGET THAT WHAT EVER HAS TO BE CANCELLED IS FOR A VERY IMPORTANT CAUSE (OUR FREEDOM FIRST). Man let me tell you this WE ARE GOING TO LIGHT IT UP VERMONT..... WOHPW IS A LEAGUE OF ITS OWN and when we say we are going to light it up WE MEAN WE ARE GOING FULL BOAT AND ALL NOTTS AHEAD. The first show that will start the line up and kick some serious butt will be running on a weekly basis every Saturday night. Shows start at 7pm and end 10pm. DONT FORGET TO ARRIVE EARLY TO MEET AND GREET WITH YOUR FAVORITE WOHPW'S STARS. DOORS OPEN AT 5:30PM. WE WILL HAVE DOOR PRIZES ALONG WITH RAFFLES AND SO ON. Food and Refreshments will be available. DONT MISS THIS ACTION. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN WOHPW IS NOTHING LIKE YOU HAVE EVER SEEN BEFORE. DO YOU WANT IT ? DO YOU NEED IT ? LET ME HEAR IT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. Look for our advertisment's on MONDAY NIGHT RAW. We have so much action to list it would take 4 myspace webpage sights to complete and include all the action set for our fans. I WILL SAY THIS WE HAVE BIKINI CONTESTS SCHEDULED FOR EVERY SHOW THAT WE ARE DOING AND SOOOO MUCH MORE. SO BE THERE OR BE SQUARE. I WARNED ALL OF YOU NOW THAT THE UPCOMING WEEKLY SHOWS ARE GOING TO BE INSANE !!! |
In case you can't read it here are the main points:
*They want you to come early to meet and greet the wrestlers but still no word on who these wrestler are.
*They say it would take "4 myspace webpage sights to complete and include all the action set for our fans," but no word is said on what some of that action might be.
*They are going to have a bikini contest at every show.
Viper, Silverqueen, somebody: How about telling us some of the wrestlers that will be appearing at this show? |

So here is what I know about WOHWA. The promoters name is Bill Sweet. He runs a school in Hudson Falls, NY. WOHW once ran right down the road from the school. So Bill takes the name and has Shane and Eric Alden become head trainers. Bill happens to run a local hot dog cart. I don’t know who is on this show all I know is that this guy is shady as it comes. CPW was/is running the Bennington Armory. This is a very shity move on WOHWA part to take a building that a promotion was trying to build. He better have a lot of really good talent on this show for $17.
And I have some questions for WOHWA
What channel is your show going to be on?
Is Danger and Jeff Star on the show?
Can you book Hulk Hogan and Hacksaw for this show? (I see their pictures in your profile)

The Training School is closed...So, the Alden's are no longer training thier. August 30th they will most likely be wrestling for Top Rope Promotions thier "Home-fed" and, Thier is NO simularities between the "Original" WOHW and This "New" Fed.
And those words came from Shane Alden himself.
....Just got off the phone with Mr.Alden himself. |

You know what? that match was horrible. I have never said different. But if you look close enough, I called a typical start to a match with a headlock, a headlock takeover, shoot off, hip toss. Simple stuff that were among the first things I was taught. From there, after a few pretty painful hardcore spots, which I really didn't want to do but was told to, the match got a little out of control.,Matches like these are the very reason why left WCWA for higher ground. I plan on following through on this dream.
I was also booked against a guy who has zero training.
Say what you want about me on any thread you want "EDGE_IS_GOD".
I don't know you. I don't know how you know me, but since you seem to be the absolute athourity, say what you will. I'm still going to do what I want, I'm gonna CONTINUE to go to wrestling school and I'm still going to wrestle when and where I can.
