As per most gimmicks in wrestling, the name of this gimmick was influenced from a 1971 movie starring Gene Hackman. So do we say shame on Tony Roy and Rush for biting their gimmick from a movie? No. Imitation is the sincerest form a flattery and I thin that goes double for pro wrestling. I'm sure some of the More seasoned guys on this board can compile a better list but off the top of my head I can think of people that have committed gimmick infringement with relative success:

The Rock: Don Muraco -name, not character
Jay Lethal: Macho Man
Shark Boy: Steve Austin
Ric Flair: Buddy Rogers
Demolition: Road Warriors
That twerp that just Heeled out on Tommy Dreamer: 123 Kid.
Evolution: 4 horseman
The Rockers: Rock n' Roll express (not sure which was first)
La Resistance:Quebecers/ Fabulous Rougeaus (sp?)

You mention Buddy Rogers and that Flair emulated him. Well it wasn't only flair.

Vince McMahon
Chris Candido
Rick Flair
and countless others all emulate Nature Boy Buddy Rogers.

R'n'R was around a good 2-3 years before The Rockers.

IMO, not only were Michaels and Jannetty superior, but they've aged MUCH better than Morton and Gibson...

Just stay positive and those pesky Protons can't get you!

Who the hell cares how much they have aged? Both teams were excellent. Id give the slight edge overall in their tag primes to the Rockers, but very slight. And they didnt have a legendary feud under their belt either, tho they had several good ones. both solid teams indeed.

It's not how MUCH they've aged, it's HOW they have aged. It really shows how poorly someone like Ricky Morton has taken care of himself. You can age like fine wine if you take care of yourself, but can also age like an open box of Almaden if you don't.

Just stay positive and those pesky Protons can't get you!

I was replying to the post about How they've aged. Thats what it was. IF there is a comparison, then as I said, my vote goes to shawn and tho I havent seen him lately, Jannetty as well.
