Ive met Walter at a few different shows. He was very kind and generous. His speeches at shows though hard to hear were awesome. He had EVERY fan in the audience quiet and listening to Walter as he spoke about wrestling. Keep well Walter. |

From MAV........One of my favorite Walter stories was one related to me by Scott Sharkey (a former student of Walters from many years ago).
......
Not to change the subject but Scott Sharkey used to be THE MAN! Unfortunately he was wrestling during the time that Vince only used big guys. I remember when RAW was still using jobber matches. Scott's opponent threw Scott over the top rope like ECW's Bam Bam Bigelow threw Spike Dudley into the audience. Vince was impressed when Scott didn't grab the top rope to slow down and control his fall to the floor. I wonder where Scott is and what he is doing for work. |

Spoke to Freight this afternoon. I was at work, so it was a little hard to hear. I'm sure he'll be on later tonight to update us, but it sounds like they have decided to take Walter off the life support machine. From my understanding this isn't "pulling the plug" as I thought it was. It means that they took him off the machine that assists his breathing. So he's back to keeping himself running. I don't even begin to know what this is like for Theresa. I'm not a spiritual person myself but my thoughts are with her. |

the last post was correct.this morning walter was taken off life support. his vitals are still holding pretty good under the cercumstances. there are a couple of us here with walter. I am staying until there is a change.he seems to be hanging on strong.
now he just needs to make his big comeback into the shine. theresa is beside herself with hurt and beyond tired and lost.I refuse to give up hope and faith. |

This thread has been very sad, but the class shown by guys like Terry Allen and Freightrain, always with Mr Kowalski and his wife, and keeping everyone on the hammer updated, is simply incredible. Thank you guys. |

I too have never met him yet I greatly respect him and admire him.
When I was younger and reading about wrestling and first wanting to train up, my first thought of who I was going to train under was Killer Kowalski.
I heard his name tossed around quite a bit on TV whenever a wrestler was mentioned to have trained under him, my grandfather was a HUGE wrestling fan and used to go on long driving trips just to go see pro wrestling in the 60s and would tell me how "terrible" and tough "that damn Kowalski" was, and I read about him in this book I read as a preteen.
Unfortunately, it looks as if I might not be able to meet him. I will think of him often though. |

walter is still holding strong. with little change. there has been a group of workers that have been almost round the clock on rotating shifts with walter. thoughts and prayers are what is needed the most at this time.
richard brynes wife has made food for theresa to make sure she is eating.
Richard also helped theresa set up the The only Walter Killer Kowalski memorial fund.
it was set up very carefully so that theresa and only theresa. has access to this fund. it is the only legit one out there.if you want to help theresa Kowalski in her time of need this is where it needs to go and be
the only place to send anything
walter Killer Kowalski Memorial fund
Citizens Bank
876 main st
Malden,Ma. 02148
this is the only legal and official fund for walter Killer Kowalski |

FT - is there going to be a paypal set up for Theresa? If not I would seriously look into it as many younger people never use checks.
And I am so confused as to which of these fund raisers to send stuff too. Been keeping the people on the prowrestling.com forums updated and want to make sure to have the right fund there.
Thanks again for the updates. |

It's the same fund. There's only one fund set up by Richard Byrne for Theresa. Donations sent to Citizens Bank go directly into the fund and are accesible ONLY by Theresa. Donations sent to ANY other address are not going directly into the account but are handled and processed before going to the bank.
We love you Walter and Theresa |

bubba... no one is saying that... all that i and FT and others are saying is that the OFFICIAL and way to guarantee that Theresa and only Theresa gets the money is to send it to citizens.
also im not sure if there is going to be a paypal set up... it wouldnt be a bad idea. ill look into it.
and i know it might impossible for people that live further away, but im sure you could always drop the donation off at the bank :/ |

i duno what heat your talking about.. and if there is any i agree with you. what i meant by when i said Theresa and only Theresa gets the money is that she has direct access to it when the time comes that she needs it. my apologies for not being clear on that. and again your total right, with the issue that is going on right now, try and make things easier for Theresa you know what im saying man? |

dont mean to make another post but part of what i wanted to say didn't go through.
i wanted to add after not being clear is that i hope no one feels like anyone is implying anything to cause any problems. we are all here for one reason and everyone has to work together.
and if anyone has a chance to, maybe FT, talk to Theresa about setting up a paypal to go directly to the fund. I know a couple people mentioned not everyone uses checks anymore. just make it easier for everyone to help you know? |

ok
the deal with paypal.
I just spoke with theresa and the bank. since it is going directly into the account the can't do it and since theresa doesn't own or know how to use a computer for that matter. she can't set it up. |

and no one ever said what bubbaj asked on aug 24 at 3:16 pm.
I won't even repeat what was said. because I don't want anyone to ever say that i said it.
i can't speak for anyone else but freightrain is not accusing anyone of anything. |

To be clear, I never said that anyone was doing anything illegal or said that anything illegal was going on or that anyone was accusing anyone else of anything.
I simply wanted it to be put out there that there was much confusion over which fund was correct and freightrain, your post repeatedly state that "this is the only legal and official fund for walter Killer Kowalski" which implies something.
I'm not a lawyer but statements like that can lead to problems. I have my opinions on what should have happened once the confusion started but I'm not about to tell people what to do in a situation that doesn't directly involve me.
Again, I just asked the question that many had on their minds. I figured it would open up debate and that maybe those who set up the two funds would clear the air. I know for myself, I am cautious as far as giving money if I am not sure that the intended recipient is going to receive said money.
I have my theories and opinions on what is going on but I feel that it is irrelevant at this time.
Like I stated on another thread, now is not the time for BS and sniping at each other.
I do want to say that I think it is great that so many are actually coming together for a man and his family in their time of need and God bless you all for what you have done and will do. |

bubbaj
please don't take offense to what i posted earlier.
i was just saying that i didn't want anything to get twisted and bite ME in the ass later.
i spoke with theresa, richard brynes, and someone very reliable from chaotic. they are all on the same page.the reason there was confusion was that there were two different addresses posted. the reason a different address was posted on the chaotic site was that the promoter was out of the country and their web guy wanted to get the word out and didn't have the web address at the time. and to praise bubbaj
all we want to do is keep walter's love for wrestling and the legacey he built alive and to look out for theresa.
Cant we all just get along.
t think we are all doing this
when we should be doing this |

I took zero offense. I know you are doing great work and your explanation as to the discrepancy in addresses is exactly what I figured.
I'm just glad that things are in the works and I am looking forward as I'm sure everyone else, to a show honoring a man that most of us in the business owe a huge debt of gratitude. |
