TNA house show
July 19, 2008
Monroe, La.
Report by Trae Wisecarver, PWTorch.com contributor
I just got home from the TNA house show in Monroe. It was a really good show and the crowd was insanely hot all night and EVERYONE was over. My memory isn't perfect, but I'll include all the details I can remember.
Some guy came out to welcome us to the show and told us it was Jeremy Borash's birthday, then JB came out to do the ring announcing.
(1) "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal beat "The Guru" Sonjay Dutt in 7 minutes with a diving elbow drop. Sonjay didn't want to get in the ring at first, so Lethal hit him with a tope suicida to the outside. They brawled around ringside, then eventually made it in the ring. Sonjay got a near fall off of a standing moonsault, but Lethal hit the Lethal Combination followed by the diving elbow to win it.
(2) "Cowboy" James Storm (w/ Jackie Moore) beat Eric Young in 10 minutes with a superkick. Storm cut a good heel promo before the match to make sure everyone hated him. Storm challenged a little girl at ringside to fight him, then Young held Storm for the kid to hit him. Jackie interfered throughout the match until Young gave them a double Death Valley Driver that Storm kicked out of, then Young kicked out of the Eye of the Storm. Storm spit beer in Young's face while the referee was trying to get Jackie out of the ring, then blasted him with a superkick for the pin. Afterwards, Storm tried to whip Young with a belt, but Young managed to disappear under the ring. Storm took the stick again and said that no one in the arena could beat him, prompting an appearance by Super Eric, who whipped Storm with the belt and chased him off.
(3) ODB & Roxxi beat The Beautiful People in six minutes when ODB pinned Angelina Love with a running powerslam. Not bad for a short-ish women's match. Roxxi played face-in-peril for a while, then made the hot tag to ODB, who eventually pinned Love to win the match after Roxxi dove onto Velvet Sky at ringside. After the match, Angelina Love said that since we were so disrespectful of the Beautiful People, they were never coming to Monroe again, which was met with cheers.
(4) TNA X Division Champion "Maple Leaf Muscle" Petey Williams beat Kaz in 7:52 with the Canadian Destroyer. I think Petey was getting more cheers than Kaz. They had a good match. Petey kept teasing the Canadian Destroyer, but Kaz kept countering it. Kaz went for the Flux Capacitor, but Petey blocked it and tried to hit the Destroyer from the second rope, but Kaz countered and hit a sick belly-to-back piledriver (think Genki Horiguchi's Beach Break) into a near fall. Lil' Petey Pump eventually did hit the Canadian Destroyer for the pin to retain the title.
(5) TNA World Tag Team Champions LAX beat The Motor City Machine Guns in 8 minutes when Hernandez pinned Chris Sabin. This was a wild match with suicide dives all over the place from everyone. Hernandez pinned Sabin to win the match after he held Sabin on his shoulders and Homicide came off the top rope with the Gringo Cutter (a tandem move Wikipedia tells me they call the 5150). The teams shook hands after the match. LAX seemed to be significantly more over.
After intermission, they brought out the Mayor of Monroe and teased that they may bring a PPV to Monroe in the future. I'm not sure how the arena would look for TV, but WCW did Nitro there sometime in the mid-90's, which was before my time as a fan.
(6) "The Instant Classic" Christian Cage beat Tomko in 12 minutes with the Unprettier. Christian was way over and got the crowd into chanting "Tomko sucks." I didn't get to see a whole lot here because the people in front of me were standing up forcing me to stand up to be able to see and making the people behind me whine that THEY couldn't see. At one point Christian hit a tornado DDT, then missed a frog splash. Tomko hit a Hercules Cutter (torture rack into a neckbreaker) for a near fall, but Christian won in the end with the Unprettier. After the match, Christian got the crowd to sing "Happy Birthday" to Borash.
(7) A.J. Styles beat Kurt Angle in 14 minutes with the Styles Clash. This was easily the best match I've ever seen live (not surprisingly since I've only been to a few lame WWE house shows and one no-name indy show, but it really was a very good match). They did some nice mat wrestling in the opening minutes, then had a lot of great near fall spots including an Angle belly-to-belly suplex, a diving clothesline from AJ, and an arm drag off the top rope from Angle. AJ escaped the ankle lock at hit the Pele kick, then eventually won with the Styles Clash. After the match, Angle cut a babyface promo thanking us for coming.
NOTES: As if we hadn't already gotten our money's worth, Borash then announced that since they couldn't let everyone backstage, they were bringing backstage to us, so we had an impromptu autograph signing. You could also get in the ring and get an autographed picture with Kurt Angle for $20. Lethal, ODB, Roxxi, LAX, the Motor City Machine Guns, Young, Storm, Borash, and Kaz all walked around ringside signing autographs. I got Young, Hernandez, Borash, and ODB myself.
After such a great time tonight, I'll support TNA forever no matter how bad their TV is.

TNA IN FAYETTEVILLE, NC LIVE REPORT: SAMOA JOE VS. ABYSS, CAGE VS. TOMKO AND MORE
by J.J. in North Carolina @ 2008-07-26 02:08:56
My brother-in-law & I went to the TNA show in Fayetteville, NC yesterday evening. I'd guesstimate about 1500 or so showed up, and it was a very solid show.
- Kaz vs. Petey Williams. I'm pretty sure this was the first match, as it was just after 8PM (advertised starting time) when we got to our seats. I could hear Petey's old music (not the "Definition of Definition" theme) playing as I was in line for a brewski. Strong effort by these two. The crowd ate up the several teases for the Canadian Destroyer, although it never happened. A few teases for the Wave of the Future, and one for the Flux Capacitor. Petey nailed his over-the-top rope rana to Kaz on the floor at one point, which looks very impressive in person. Kaz took a suprise victory with a roll-up cradle after a series of reversals.
- Rhino vs. Jimmy Rave w/Lance Rock. Rock & Rave Infection did not come out to their regular music, and no Hemme either. Rave did his intentional wrong city shtick, which got a few laughs from the crowd. During early stages of the match, Lance's interference became outright blatant. Instead of his actions causing a DQ, Rhino got on the mic and said he had a friend that would help him "kick some @ss." Out came...
- Rhino & SUPER ERIC vs. Rock & Rave Infection. Decent tag match (not enough double team moves for my tastes). Super E. teased the double DVD, but Lance slid off at the last second. Rhino scored the pin with the GORE (x 3) while Super E. hit the DVD on Rave.
- Awesome Kong vs. Taylor Wilde (c) for TNA Knockouts championship. Call me CRAZY, but Kong is somewhat cute in the face when she's not scowling. I know I'm in the minority there...anyway, Taylor came out to Song 2 by Blur, which kind of fit her in my opinion. Kong played the monster, Wilde was the scrappy underdog, and this match was very similar to how she won and then retained the Knockouts title. Wilde won with a roll up, which I believe came after she reversed Kong's attempt of an Implant Buster.
- Beer Money Inc. w/Ms. Jackie vs. LAX (c) for TNA Tag Team Championship. Storm got on the mic and worked the crowd. He turned to Roode and told him it was a good think he brought his forklift if he was going to pick up one of the "heffers" in the crowd. He basically called the crowd and North Carolina in general a bunch of losers, which got some good heat from the crowd. He even pulled a few sports references, calling the Tarheels choke artists and stating that DeShaun Foster may have gotten more yards if he ran behind a Tennessee Titans line (never mind the fact that the Panthers finally CUT his a** in the off-season). He is gold on the mic, I tell ya. Anyway, really good match. I love it when Storm yells, "BEER!" and Roode follows up with "MONEY!" It was great to see that live. I know a few of you guys would like to see the two of them flourish as singles competitors, but I really like the chemistry they have together. Hey, it worked for Rated RKO for a while, right? LAX hit most of their major spots, and Hernandez is a beast in person. LAX got the 3 count with the 5150. Besides the main event, this match received the loudest crowd reaction from where I sat.
INTERMISSION. By the way, Jeremy Borash was working the crowd all night, and pulled two local military troops in the ring, and led a USA chant. I'm pretty damn sure Don West was sitting at ringside all night. Kurt Angle also came out (before intermission) and put over the "home grown talent" in TNA. He expressed regret that he couldn't wrestle due to a neck injury (good for him), but he "guaranteed" that he'd be in the ring when TNA returns to Fayetteville next year. He also threw in that he told McMahon to kiss his a** when he left WWE, TNA will be kicking WWE's a** in a few years, and TNA is in 140 countries solely because of the fans.
Christian Cage vs. Tomko. Tomko garnered some cheap heat by grabbing the mic and saying to no one in particular, "I KNOW you didn't just say I suck!" The reaction was lukewarm, until Cage took the mic and ragged on Tomko even more. Right as the match started, Tomko did some Shane O' Mac type footwork, which I thought was hilarious. Good match. Tomko really looked like he was enjoying himself out there. Christian won with the Unprettier.
Out comes Samoa Joe for the main event, sans title (to continue the Booker T storyline). Surprise of the night (for me, anyway): Samoa Joe does a really funny Jim Cornette impression! He mocked Jim when explaining to the crowd that Booker has an arrangement where he does not have to face Joe until the PPV. Jim did promise Joe a sufficient replacement. Out comes...
Samoa Joe vs. Abyss. Abyss is huge. It's so much more impressive to see him move like he does when you see him perform in person. Very physical, stiff match. Towards the end, Abyss goes for the chair (?), which I found slightly disappointing since he is currently extremely apprehensive about using any weapons during the weekly episodes. No big deal for a house show, though. Swing and a miss for Abyss, Samoa Joe kicks the chair into Abyss' face, 1 - 2 - 3!
Joe then gets back on the mic and says instead of taking VIP holders backstage, backstage is going to come out to the crowd! Very nice gesture, although my in-law and I didn't stay (I'm not really big on autographs).
TNA put on a really good show, and we definitely enjoyed ourselves. I hope this wasn't too wordy, but I wanted to include as much detail as possible. I'll be looking out for that PPV that J.B. suggested for the Fayetteville when TNA returns. I'd love to see a TNA show with a full-blown production staff on hand.

TNA house show report 7-26 Florence, SC
By Whilden Nettles and Jamie
Jeremy Borash comes out running likes a gazelle, and gets the crowd salivating by offering the loudest fans backstage passes. I know the deal from reading house show reports, but it takes him 5 minutes to get through his speil, probably so he can get the crowd howling loud. The first match was Kaz vs. Petey Williams. It was a very good match, lasted about 8 minutes. A great opener. I was worried that the show woulden't be any good, because generally, I'm not a fan of house shows. It feels like too much is held back. But this match felt like a strong Impact, or even a pretty good PPV match. Lots of false finishes as well as an avalanche Canadian Destroyer tease. Thank goodness Petey is watching old All Japan tapes and not Scott Steiner ones. The match ends with a seqence into the Canadian Destroyer, and Petey takes the win.
Next up is Robert Roode vs. Rhino. I dug it, but my friend hated it. There was a lot of heat on this one, and both guys were able to get the audience to play into their hand. It was a very basic match, with the baby face making comebacks, and the heel acting dastardly, but it was still good and got a suprisingly good crowd reaction. The beginning saw a good comedy spot with both men seeing which one could jump over the ropes into the ring better. The match ended with Rhino hitting a gore. Without the stalling thrown in, the match was about 6 minutes long.
James Storm vs. Eric Young was pretty good. James Storm is good at getting that cheap heat, and named dropped the Game Cocks in order to make fun of us South Carolinians. Finish came at the 9 minute mark when Jackie distracted the ref and Storm blew a beer mist (please let Muta do that once before he retires) into Young's eyes, superkick, and the pin. Then, during another Storm promo, Super Eric came out, did the double DVD spot, and left the crowd happy. Good heat for both men. Had the crowd most of the match.
Taylor Wild vs. Kong was the stiffest match of the night. Seriously. The guys were all having good, athletic contsts, but they were going pretty easy on each other. Not these two. This 7 minute match was good with some great high spots. Finish was very good and got the crowd going. Kong pushed the ref, who pushed back, of course while Taylor is down. Kong goes to powerbomb the ref. As the ref is in the air, Taylor comes from behind, school boys Kong, the ref rolls down safely, and counts to three. Crowd really dug this one. I was not expecting the women to put on one of the best matches of the night. After that match, I was wishing that another knockouts match had been booked.
The Rock N Rave infection garnered very little heat in their match vs. LAX. LAX was super over, but just could not garner much reaction at all for Rave and Hoyt. It was a good match, and Hernandez can move for a big guy. It was great to see him perform his tope. This was another 7 minute match. By the way, this whole guitar hero gimmick they seem to have is killing me. Please, TNA, bring in Prince Nana. I assure you, it will make far better TV than the Rock N Rave trainwreck.
Next out was Kurt Angle, who cut a promo. He acutally said "Within 2 years, we'll be kicking WWE's ass!" My friend remarked "didn't he say that 2 years ago?" Angle went on to put over the fans, and also Jeff Jarrett. Jeremy Borash told us we were going to intermission, and there would be a suprise at the end of the night. I'm guessing it's not going to be a public firing of Vince Russo.
Next out was Tomko vs. Abyss in a, and I'm not kidding, no DQ Florence Street Fight. And by street fight, I mean they let them use one chair. At one point, Abyss used his fist to stop a chair shot to his head, which was impressive, bent the chair, and looked really, really painful. It was a standard match, but as far as brawls go, not really all that great. Abyss was very over, and appeared to be very well fed at the insane asylum. Tomko seemed to have issues drawing heat, but he was able to get some from the audience.
Finally, Christian Cage vs. Joe was next. Joe came out and cut a promo talking about how he is going to face Booker T and get his belt back, and then issued an open challenge, which Christian Cage accepted. Cage cut a promo saying basically that he was going to beat joe, and the bell was rung. These two had a really, really solid, 15 minute match. They went out of the ring a few times, with an elbow suicida from Joe, and a flying splash to the outside from the top turnbuckle by Cage. They were not phoning this one in. It didn't feel a whole lot like a house show match other than the first 2 or 3 mintues, which was filled was stalling and feeling each other out chicanery. Cage was doing a good job of slowly getting the heat on Joe. He didn't quite cut a heel promo on Joe. He was just able to create heat for Joe and get the fans to boo himself. He did it in subtle ways. He didn't cheat or anything, he just knew what to do to subtley, slowly, and deliberatley get the fans against him and behind Joe before the fans even noticed. I was very impressed by this match. One of the highlights was when Joe dead lifted Cage into a muscle buster.
After the match, Joe cut a promo thaking the fans. He then told Jeremy Borash that it shoulden't just be a few people that get to go back stage, and since everyone made the show a success, everyone should get to go back stage. Yea, JB, you Bourgeoisie bastard! How dare you arbitrarily decide that the members of the audience closest to you cheered the loudest. Anyways, they brought out Angle to do pictures at $20.00 a pop, and Storm, Kaz, Rhino, Taylor, Hernandez, Eric Young, Earl Hebner, and Homicide came out. Yea, great job Joe, way to bust on JB for not letting everyone go back stage, and then not even coming out to give autographs. I think I missed the logic train there. Well, I guess that means Russo is booking the house shows too.
Anyways, all in all, this was a very good card, and far exceeded my expectations. The crapiness of impact didn't seem to cross over and poison the house show any. While the crowd was small (it's questionable if they could have sold out an armory), it was a fervent bunch. Lots of loud cheers and enthusiasm. I do think that there is a market for what TNA does, they just have to market themselves better.
Biggest Pop
Joe
LAX
Kaz/Angle
Biggest Heat
James Storm
Robert Roode
Petey Williams
(Kong wasn't getting cheered perhaps, but she certainly wasn't getting booed)
Best match: Joe vs. Christian
Worst Match: Tomko vs. Abyss
If you run this on the site, please credit it to myself, Whilden and my friend, Jamie. My buddy helped me to take notes, and I want credit to go where credit is due. Thanks Dave, and keep doing your thing. We all appreciate it.

WrestleView Road Trip: TNA Part I (House Show Aug. 8th)
TNA House Show
August 8th 2008
Asbury Park, NJ
Bell Time: 8 pm
Report by: David Stephens of WrestleView.com
I would like to start out by thanking both TNA and the TNA University program for providing me with the comp tickets for both this event and Sunday’s Hard Justice.
A TNA staffer came out and thanked us for coming out to the greatest spectacle in professional wrestling entertainment today, TNA! It was interesting to note that this was the first time I have ever heard TNA refer to itself as part of the “sports entertainment” sphere. I suppose this goes hand in hand with TNA switching the names of their talent from “wrestlers” to “stars”.
Jeremy Borash came out and welcomed us to the event that he will be hosting! JB has an absolutely amazing voice, great talent.
Curry Man def. Johnny Devine & Kaz via Spice Rack
Curry Man came out first and made Rudy Charles dance with him. Johnny Devine came out next and he had pure heel heat. Out next came Kaz, who apparently is still working with TNA (he is just finishing out the last of his schedule). I did have a chance to catch him after the show to ask about his match at JAPW against Teddy Hart that keeps getting postponed. He says it isn’t going to happen, though he would love if it did. He blamed it on JAPW.
TNA really knows how to run these three way dances. It was fast, entertaining, and a great way to start off the show.
Consequences Creed def. Sheik Abdul Bashir via Creed DT
I will be the first to admit that I was skeptical about Creed at first, but I really love his style. Oh, and his red, white, and blue outfit. Plenty of USA chants throughout the match.
Roxxi & Traci Brooks def. Velvet Sky & Jacqueline via Voodoo drop
It was apparently pick on Rudy Charles night tonight because Velvet Sky came out and started to flirt with him just to mock him. I really don’t get why Roxxi keeps shaving her head but whatever works for her. Velvet’s entrance is even better in person.
LAX def. Team 3-D via a cheap roll up
I like LAX but I was fully behind Team 3-D in this matchup. Bubba grabbed the mic and put over how it was great to be back in Team 3-D territory, but more importantly Dudley Boys territory!!
LAX always puts on a great show, and it was awesome to see the Dudley’s live. After the match, Bubba dedicated tonight’s show to the late great Bam Bam Bigelow. A thank-you Bam Bam chant started up and it was a very touching moment.
15 Minute Intermission
Rhino def. James Storm via Gore
This match wasn’t much of a thriller, but have you seen Storm’s new tights? They are a confederate flag design, and absolutely insane.
Main Event
AJ Styles def. Kurt Angle via Styles Clash
AJ Styles! Seeing AJ in action put all doubts that I could possibly ever have to rest about his ability. He is just unbelievable to watch. He showcased some awesome moves and strength, Styles managed to put Angle up in a torture rack. His flying elbow is even more impressive to see live. The Styles Clash looked like it was the most brutal finisher I have ever seen, and I’ve been to CZW’s Tournament of Death. There is just something magical about AJ Styles.
After the Show…
Afterwards Kurt Angle stayed in the ring to take pictures with fans for a fee. Curry Man, Velvet Sky, Traci Brooks, Hernandez, Earl Hebner, Kaz & Jeremy Borash all came out to ringside to sign autographs and pose for pictures.
A fun show all around, and I am absolutely stoked for Hard Justice and the meet and greet TNA is giving me before the show. |

My Opinions & Pictures!
Very dis-organized outside, per usual at the Manhattan Center. The staff there doesn't seem to ever know whats going on. The box office had one window, and, their computer system apparently isnt one from Ticketmaster, so finding out what seats there are before you buy them was difficult. We were actually let in 15 min before 7, as it was raining and windy.
They made everyone take the elevator.... what a shocker. We get to the 7th floor and get our free DVD. Plenty of choices, from Best of AJ Styles Vol #2, Best of the X Division, Bound for Glory 2005... I got The Best of Christopher Daniels. Out seats were where ROH's GA use to be up there, on the stage. Once the show started we moved back so we could get right next to the rain and can stand without blocking anyone. We were asked by the staff if we wanted floor seating instead, we declined.
Id say there was 1,000-1,200. Entrance was in the middle of the stage, with id say 13 rows of 8 chairs each on each side. Only 8 rows were filled on each side. The floor also had about the first 8 rows filled, and the back 4 empty. The balcony was a complete sell out. Show started promptly at 8.
In attendance: Homicide, Julius Smokes, Prince Nana, Jay Lethals brother, Rob Vegas, and Johnny Rodz.
Lethal/Dutt was a good opener. REALLY fast paced action, highspots and such. Got the crowd going.
Kong vs Traci vs Roxxi was decent... Roxxi and Traci tried to doubleteam, but, it didnt last long, and all 3 were fending for themselves.... Kong obviously getting the better of the 2.
Young/Devine was a comedy match. Devine came out with a wrench in his boot. hebner found it. Then young becomes the ref and hebner is wrestling devine. Then devine starts taking it to young, who becomes "super eric" and you know the end.
The 3D thing was cool. The crowd was hot for it and it seemed like 3D was eating it up. Really good promo/shoot/whatever you wanna call it.
Abyss/Rhino was ok. A bit short, and, we missed 5 minutes of it due to them circling the floor. Abyss didnt use too many weapons as he doesn't want to let "abyss" out. No blood.
Missed some of Petey and Creed but from what I saw it was good.
3D vs Beer Money was very good. 3D has been good the times ive seen them in TNA and Northeast Wrestling. They havent "mailed it in" at any show. Beer Money is just a GREAT gimmick tag team. TNA's bright light went on here by taking 2 "mid card" guys and making them a top tag team. Jackie went through a table after the match.
Main Event was solid. Booker T gets on the mic lays down a "mother fucker" on the mic.... something Team 3D didnt even do.... it was quite interesting. Booker was eliminated within 3 minutes id say. Odd for the guy who was in a huge feud with Joe. Christian was on point and him and angle/joe had a great series before being eliminated. As usual, Joe/Angle was off the hook. Match was only 15 min or so.
Borash hinted at TNA doing a IMPACT from there or a PPV. Spike TV cameras were there to film the 3D thing and other things, as well as some "executives" i saw walking around from Spike and TNA. No Mick Foley... which was a disappointment. Atlas security were sorta-dicks, mainly at the end kicking us off the stage when all i wanted to do was take pictures of the guys walking down to the meet and greet. The event security, as usual, were not very pleasant. Thats a HUGE minus about going to that place, is you feel like your walking on ice. I stepped on a chair so i didnt bother a row of people to sit down and a lady on the opposite side of the stage yells at me yet during the show she let people stand on the chairs.
I bet the "hurricane" scared a lot of people off. Lots of flooding and washouts on the way down, the city was wet and sorta windy, but, nothing crazy. Tickets were sorta steep, possibly another reason for a crowd that wasnt sold out. ROH would atleast offer $15-30 seats with TNA offering $35 as there cheapest. I had fun and plan to keep attending more TNA shows.
Disclaimer on the Photos: The lighting was very weird. When they came out, the spotlight would make some of them VERY white, if no spotlight was used, they had these red/orange lights on and when i shot to the ring, i needed another setting. So I needed 3 different settings to get a good shots most of the time and with the spotlight guy being random with when he used it and me not changing my settings a bunch a times a match, some of the lighting can look a bit funky. These are just fna pics, all in all. Enjoy!

TNA house show results 9-7 Albany, NY
By David Spalding
Overall ok show, heard a lot of great things about tna house shows, don't live up to the hype but still an ok show. Why they would run in an 18,00 seat arena when they know there would be no way in hell they could draw over 2,000 fans is beyond me.
They are runing Glens Falls civic center next month which makes a lot more sense, only a 4,000 seat areana Plan on going to that fine show as well.
Jay lethal over Sonjay Dutt in the opener. Lethal wins after the macho man elbow off the top rope at 6:30,crowd loved lethal
Awesome Kong and Miss Jackie over Tracie Brooks and Roxxi at 6:23 when Kong pinned Iraci after the awesome bomb
Eric Young over Johnny Devine at 10:45. During the match Earl Hebner does a flair strut. This leads to young taking off and wearing the ref shirt for a bit as Devine and Hebner go at it for a bit which leads to a double hip toss on devine from young and hebner. Later in the match young goes under the ring and comes out in the full super eric get up (You could see this coming a mile away in the start as young came to the ring in the bottom half of the super eric costume)Crowd loves young though.
Rhino over Abyss in a no-dqmatch at 12;00 after a second gore. Really fun match they brawled outside of the ring and came over near my section and hit eachother with garbage cans all types of weapons which was cool. Abyss is huge.
15 min intermission
X title match
Petty Williams ove Creedwith after the can. destroyer at 7;25, not as good as their hard justice match but alright.Creed got booed again in this one,his gimmick needs to go.
Beer money inc over Team 3d in a tag title match at 15:45 3D worked as baby faces which was weird. both teams did some pre match mic work, Bubba made same 2005 lame gay jokes about Beer money and after the match kissed the fans asses and started a tna chant.
main event world title match
Smaoa Joe over Booker T,Christian Cage And Kurt angle in 12:52
this was an elimantion match
Joe pinned booker first with a power slam, then pinned christin after a diamond cutter. Joe and angle went at it for a bit, fun match with some good nears falls Joe wins with the muscle buster. Another 15 mins and some more near falls and this would have been great. But probably better than it well be on ppv next week as thier was no ref bumps of run ins.Angle cut a babyface promo after the match thanking the fans for coming out to the show etc.Why don't they have Joe do this? Anyways angle stays and takes pics with the fans after the show for 20 bux a pop. Kinda felt bad for Angle, he won the wwe title for the first time in this building in oct 2000 in front of a sold out crowd.

TNA House Show Results - 9/13/08
Location: London, Ontario, Canada
Mike Horton sent this report in:
Thought I'd let you know what happened tonight at the John Labatt Center. Here are the results but not necessarily in the order they were on the card.
Eric Young vs. Petey Williams vs. Johnny Divine. Eric Young took the Canadian Destroyer almost immediately and then turned into Super Eric under the ring and came back in and scored the pinfall. I believe he pinned Johnny Devine. No title change as it was a non title match.
Taylor Wilde pinned Angelina Love when special referee Traci Brooks pushed Love for getting in her face. Taylor rolled her up as she was falling back and pinned her.
Beer Money beat Motor City Machine Guns with a low blow to retain their titles.
AJ Styles beat Sheik Abdul after hitting him with the Styles Clash.
Rhino gored and then pinned Abyss. They shook hands after the match and then Abyss hit Rhino with the black hole slam.
Consequences Creed beat Sonjay Dutt.
Kurt Angle came out and said he wished he was fighting but he wasn't and he said TNA would be back and he promised he'd be on the card and they'd be taping for Spike TV.
Samoa Joe beat Christian Cage. When it was over Samoa Joe hyped TNA saying how hard everybody worked. Christian took the mic and said "This is the way we do it in Canada" and announced Joe as still the heavyweight champion.
At the end of the night Jeremy Borash announced that many of the wrestler were coming down to ringside to sign autographs and invited everybody to come down from the stands. That was it. The show was not sold out but they still did pretty good ticket sales overall.

Went to shitty ass TNA tonight in Glens Falls. It's a 4,000 seat arena, they would be lucky if the had 800 marks there. Here's what went down.
1)Motor City Machine Guns vs. Rock and Rave's with Christie Hemme ends in 7:08 when Shelly pins Rave.
2)Super Eric over "CUTE" Kip James at 5:52 after a DVD.
3)Kong over Roxxie around 5 Min's in with her pedigree/pile driver combo
4)Divari over Creed in an C title match at 13:02
15 min intermission
5)Shark Boy over Petey Williams at 6:45
6)Beer Money INC over Abyss and Eric young at 13:30 when Young gets pinned, forgot who pinned him. During this me and a friend notice some of the TNA stars sitting a few sections over. So we went over to get some autographs. Cute Kip and Roxxi signed for us. Divari wouldn't as he said there was an orange piece of tape between us that he didn't want to cross. I told the man "It was TNA, CROSS THE LINE!!!" But he didn't answer. I also asked Sabin if he would sign, but he no sold me, and Shelly told us they would be around the ring after the show.
Main event
7)Samoa Joe over Booker and AJ in 14:23
After the match Joe and AJ take pics with the marks for 20 bux a pop. One of the worst shows I've ever had to see in my life. First match and Main event, and post show pic/autographs saved this terrible card. At one point JB talked about how Foley was telling JB how he can't wait to come to Glens Falls... sure. I've seen this shit hole company twice with in the span of 27 days and hope I'm not that fucking dumb to buy another ticket to another shitty TNA show for another 27 years. |
