Well, after a long time (near a year plus at least) I made it back to Quincy and NECW on Saturday night. Its late, so here is a hopeful report..hehe. Forgive the spelling errors, if any.
Show started about 715 w a nice vid tribute/show dedication to Killer Kowalski..
RA: Chris Norman
Refs: JT, Rich Bass and Rob Teutel
Att: 175+.VERY vocal.
Opener saw Brian Eagles from Australia take on the next Superstar, Ryan Matthews. Very solid opener, won by Mathews a a roll up and pull of the tights. Sour ending.ha. to a good matchup
Tag titles were up for grabs in a three way, as Pride defended vs Team Nightmare (Evan Siks and Nick Steele) and The Crown Jewels (Jason Rumble and Darling Damon) First time seeing the Jewels, excellent snotty gimmick, right down to Rumble and the atomizer. This was a good match also, w all three teams getting in lots of offense, and the action spilling all over. In the end, Pride retaiend the belts out of nowhere, as it seemed the other two teams were more intent on destorying each other.
Jason Blade took on Brendan Michael Thomas (W WWW champ Ariel), Scott Osbourne did not appear, and Thomas had one of his best matches probably of his career. He actually had the better of the match in several spots including a huge codebreaker off the ropes, In the end tho, Blades experience was too much as he hit a Go to sleep and Fisherman Buster combo for the win.
Pat's Pit was next as Pat Piper called out Sean Gorman, after what had happened last show. Gorman And Ryan Mathews came out, and Sheldon Goldberg then appeared, saying in NECW problems are solved in the ring. Mathews was banished to the back, and Gorman was forced into a match w Piper, w the loser having to leave NECW for at least 90 days. The "match" was short and sweet, as in an ode to Roddy, Pat hit a thumb in eye and the sleeper hold. Gorman went out, and was carried out to Na na na na hey hey hey goodbye.

. Just noted, Pat Piper is WAYYYY over.
The Match of the night IMO was up next. Brandon Locke once again challenged Handsom Johnny for the TV title, this time w a 20 min time limit. Johnny showed his skills in how to WORK A MATCH, as he picked a body part and worked on it. Match was excellent, old school style match, that sadly ended in a time limit draw. After, it was revealed both men were in the toxic waltz Nov 1, but first, they would have another match for the TV title w NO TIME LIMIT.
Intermission w Polaroids w Jason Blade, chit chat for me w several incl ShawnO and Ridave, and Sheldon, Matt Storm and others.
Makoto over TJ Richter w the weirdest small package Ive ever seen. He hit a leg lariat or something into the pinning combo. Inventive, ok match, w Richter as usual playing the Crybaby heel well.
Joe Matarazzo from NECW Tv interview amateur champ, All american and Olympic hopeful Davey Loomis, who is looking to be a top pro. Ryan Mathews comes out again, and they agree on an amateur match Nov 1, but Mathews slaps Loomis, only to get a belly to belly suplex for his troubles.
Womenss tag match and a good one, saw Lexxus and her Partner, Miss McKay over Madison Eagles and Ariel w BMT. Crowd loved this oen, and it was well done. It had good wrestling, and a good brawl w Lexxus and Ariel on the floor as well. McKay hit a powerbomb on Eagles for the win.
Main Event for the NECW triple crown title saw Max Bauer to defend vs the Daddy Cat, DC Dillinger. pre match, Bauer, who was Wayyyy over, had to endure a heel promo by DC, where he punked out several fans, as well as Bauer and Special ref Alex Arion. The match was excellent old style, w plenty of action, much of it on the floor and crowd, DC got increasingly frustrated w Arions counts, and at one point pushed Alex. Alex pushed back, and DC fell into a schoolboy and the pin by Bauer to retain.
Post match, as DC ranted and threw a tantrum, Alex Arion suddenly leveled Bauer and cut a scathing heel promo, running down everything, including more punking out of a few fans, and then engaging in an argument w Sheldon Goldberg, as to the fact that Arion should have had the title shot. He again attacked Bauer, as he was being helped from the ring, hitting him flush with the title belt. Jason Blade and Brandon Locke finally came to the rescue. Goldberg argued back, and it sets up what could be a match w Alex and Bauer for the title, but that wasnt announced. OUTSTANDING job by Arion, cutting a promo that made fans, and wrestlers alike want to destroy him..haha.
NECW has a saying on the T shirts. "We put the wrestling back into Sports Entertainment". It fit on Saturday night. A Very solid show, well worth me going. I may be back November 1 as NECW presents the 2008 Toxic Waltz.
