You got em:

1) Romeo Roselli def Doink The Clown. Roselli then made the challenge to NEW saying he should be a Main Event Star, not the guy who is opening matches.

2) Cherry Pie def Velvet Sky

3) Rob Eckos def Damian Adams

4) Jeff Starr def Ron Zombie to become the new Northeast Wrestling Heavyweight Champion

5) Jason Blade def Xavier. Blade at one point went crashing through a table.

6) Jerry Lawler def Jalil Sallam. Jalil had a foreign object and used it on Jerry without the ref seeing it, until Jerry got it from him but the ref stopped Jerry from using it, but, Jerry got him back with the Piledriver for the victory.

7) AJ Sabotage def Brian Anthony. AJ went to the High School and was infront of his hometown crowd with a big victory.

8) Roddy Piper put Romeo Roselli, Brian Anthony and Rob Eckos in the sleeper. Romeo came out running down pipers career and not letting him get in a word. piper had enough but Romeo attacked him and got help from Anthony and Eckos. But piper fought back and all 3 men ended up in the sleeper.

Double Double Shots to finish 2008!

12/5 - PGW in East Haven, CT
12/6 - NEW in Waterbury, CT
12/13 - JAPW in Rahway, NJ
12/14 - CHIKARA in Philadelphia, PA
12/27 - The "Final" Battle in 2008 (Very Tent)
1/10 - I finally come to FRW! Rochester, NH

Did the King use the Fist drop? haha.

Tidbit: Last night on AWA wrestling, they showed the King in a 1988 match vs a guy named Samoan Joe, or sometimes called Samoa Joe, during the match. I thought that was kinda humorous too. in a way.

doesnt he always use the fist? he did on almost every match AWA showed with him. yeah these AWA matches ESPN is showing recently were on already a few months ago. so i brexe through them real quick. they finished with the 1990 shows a few weeks ago went back to '86,showed some in '88 with the WCCW and Mid South guys around the time of Superclash III and now when you watch you never know what you'll get. Samoan Joe was on a few times as well as some other Samoan jobbers around that time.

those 1990 AWA shows w the Team Challenge series were mostly horrific. When Tommy Jammer is pushed as a top star, you know poor Verne's company was fading into the sunset.

What's wrong with Tommy Jammer? He was a a good babyface and wasn't that bad in the ring, especially since he hadn't been wrestling that long when he debuted in AWA. And anyone who makes an abdominal stretch a believable finisher is pretty cool in my book.

So much flesh...so little time.

Allright, but they had lost a lot of their names, and had other guys like Zumhoffe and Johnnie Stewart..ugh.

Plus, the Destruction crew as tag champs. blech.

They did still have some old timers there too, but the team challenge series was so bad tho, just BADDDDDDDD.

Zumhoffe was past his prime at that point, Johnnie Stewart wasn't anything great, but he wasn't that bad either.

The Team challenge series was the shits, but Enos and Bloom were fuckin awesome! It sucked when Vince signed them and gave them the Beverly Brothers gimmick, it killed them. They were so much more intense as the Destruction Crew, and their promos were almost always top notch. Not to mention that the Wrecking Ball was an awesome finisher; they made the Doomsday Device look even more insane with the way they executed it.

So much flesh...so little time.

the king/jalil stuff never gets old. and even if it was very similar to their bloomfield match, this area of pa had yet to see it. it was new to them, and they all seemed to enjoy it.

as sad as it was to see ron lose the belt, jeff starr will do new proud.

Yeah, so what if the Match was the same, you hit it right on the head.

I don't think Starr will be a long term champ, but again, I don't know NEW's schedule either, so we'll see.

I've never been to a NEW show before but this was close. They specifically advertised Piper was WRESTLING but it was just a Piper's Pit. Not the world's best matchmaking to say the least. Some didn't even make sense. Lawler is entertaining. A good portion of the crowd of about 300 had left afer the local kid so Piper ended up playing to a small house. The run in made no sense.

One may think a wrestler getting shot off the ropes and being hit then put into a sleeper might be constructed as wrestling.

300 people didnt leave the event but I did see some of his family that was sitting in one section exit to the lobby.

Hopefully you had fun and will check out NEW again in the future!

The website and local advertising said he would be wrestling. That would mean a wrestling match. A sleeper at the end of a Piper's Pit is not a wrestling match. It is one move. This is wrong. ("constructed as wrestling" is also wrong. I believe you were looking for "construed as wrestling")

I forgot to mention---Hacksaw Jim Duggan was being advertised locally and was still advertised as appearing at this show on their website on Saturday!!! Duggan had been listed by the WWE for last Saturday night for three weeks before this show. This is also wrong.

I didn't say three hundred people left...I said a lot OF the crowd of 300 left. (maybe 60-70 left out of the total number of people in the building)

I honestly don't think this was a well thought out show. I don't think I would
go to another. You can't possibly tell me you thought it was a good night of wrestling. There were 2, possibly 3 decent matches but the others were all misfires. They just didn't work or make sense. The run in ruined the Piper spot. It was just overall lackluster and suffered from poor booking.

There was a lot more then 300 people in that building. GA alone was around that number.

What the fuck is your interest in NEW? Are you a shill for the company?

#1.-There were 300 there if they were lucky.

#2.-I'm not looking for a "perfect" show moron---I'm at least looking for an HONEST promotion that doesn't FALSE ADVERTISE!!! Piper was advertised as wrestling---right up to showtime---HE DID NOT! Duggan was advertised as being there---right up to showtime even though they obviously knew he would NOT be---HE WAS NOT!

With antics like this, I'm surprised this company could even draw 300. They certainly can never go back to my town. They burnt it in one show.

Well, Id like to see the advertising. If it did say Piper would wrestle and the Duggan stuff, it is misleading. I wasn't at the show, but know from talking with someone who wrestled on the show, he felt there was honestly around 800, and I have no reason to doubt him.

No show is perfect, and if NEW didn't run a strong show, things happen. The advertising is an issue, and may have been in the past a time or two, not just with NEW but with a lot of promotions. Im not defending them, and am certainly not a shill or employee for the company, I'm just stating an opinion.

Agreed. The Destruction Crew were so out of place in that dreadful era of the AWA, though. If they could have gone into the WWF with that gimmick, they would have torn things up.

Less drama, more wrestling, please.

They did have Duggan advertised as being there pretty much up until bell time, which I thought was pretty shady. The card almost felt like it was slightly shuffled last minute. I think Duggan was supposed to face Jalil, or at least thats how it felt to me.

As for the "Semi" Main (if you count Pipers "Match") AJ was lucky Anthony had his working shoes on and he was already locally popular, as honestly, he really really wasn't all that great. To be honest, has he worked much elsewhere at all? If he's pretty new to the business I'd be willing to go a bit easier on him.

Awaiting the return of Dragon Dragon to Chikara.... Just because.
