well the matches were decent at best. their overall product was boring. its like they put the show together on two reel-to-reel linear editing suites that were around when you were a kid. it felt like i was watching an roh dvd without being able to skip through the crappy matches. i would think that, for a big ppv production, they would do something cool. but it was just.... bad |

Well, ROH DVD's are pretty top flight production. The PPV dont feel like WWE or TNA or like ECW ever did. Its basically just a very fast paced/fast moving type show. Your going to get stuff you hate, and stuff you like. I can say attending these shows live, i prefer a regular ROH event over a PPV event.
...and most of there tshirts are GREAT designs. The new Steen-erico shirt is very cool. A few are a bit lame, such as the new nigel shirt.
If a promotion has crappy video production, I wont be buying there DVD's. |

FF, you have a great sense of what makes a great photo so I would be surprised if you haven't noticed that ROH's DVDs and PPVs are too bright. Many times the wrestlers faces and skin tones are completely washed out, while the black levels are too high--shades of gray. I don't know whether it's the harsh lights above the ring that might need to be softened or they still don't have their white balance set correctly on their cameras, or they just have to apply some exposure compensation to get everything darker. But it's very harsh.
Audio side, *everything* is distorted. I don't think they have anyone on staff who understands audio and proper levels. ROH, if you're always distorting, then turn down the damn levels. If your range is so dynamic that if you turn down the levels, you'll lose the quiet parts, then friggin' spend some money and buy mic processors for every mic, plus a compressor for the overall audio mix. |

they really arent. i think NRC had a decent looking one, and some are tolerable but alot are just plain bad. just looked at that blue nigel shirt, good lord thats awful. |
Well, when all the "factions" started, most of the shirts sucked. I got the AOTF shirt which is neat. I need to pick up the Go shirt as well. The new line of shirts is pretty decent, with steen-erico, necro's new shirt. Nigels blue shirt sucks.... and Bobby Cruise has a shirt now? |

| i'll admit the video production sometimes is lacking but i'm usually able to get past it. it's not like its crappy all the time. the commentary is ignored usually so that's never a factor. I think most wrestling t -shirts in general are the shits but ROH has had some crappy ones in the past. ive seen some lately that are better so I think they are trending up. I'd forgotten about PGW speeding up the moves. the shaky camera reminds me of Joel Gertner's segment on the old ECW shows. |
Most times, those speeded up moves and stuff are on the promos. The regular shows are done very well. Far as ROH, I dont have the newer dvds, but have a couple of old VHS, and I thought back then they were ok, and they must have improved.
Besides. ID say ROH prob does VERY well w the DVD sales, and such, plus the live crowd is dedicated. so things are going well. |

Yes, people are able to look past the production quality and focus on the matches. I think the matches are so good that people look past the story lines too. |
