PHillies Cookin, so is Papa Joe, and Manny again. Big lead fairly late for Dodgers at Wrigley. Cubs may continue their era of futility.

Long way to go, but looks like Phillies and Dodgers in NLCS is a strong chance, obviously, w two 2-0 series leads, if Dodgers hold on tonight.

Well, once again the Red Sox got the win. HR by Jason Bay, after the Angels had battled back to tie last night. Angels had plenty of chances early, I believe, but you have to produce, and the Red Sox are just much better in these tough spots.

And earlier in the evening, the Rays overcame an early deficite for another nice win over the White Sox. Both the Red Sox and Rays have a chance to wrap things up on Sunday.

We could be heading for the David (Rays) and Goliath ALCS battle. I won't count out the White Sox yet, tho the Angels IMO pretty much had the fork stuck in them. I think thatd be fun, and hopefully the Rays would continue their storybook season, and slay the big bad giants of beantown.

While I am not as qualified to judge Biblical references as you are, having lived through it yourself, but how can the team with the best record in the AL East David? Isn't David the underdog?

Angels have ZERO chance to win in Boston...

Rays will sweep the White Sox...

So we got Rays vs the Sox... which will be one of the dirtiest series in a very long time. I am looking forward to that a lot. I really hope the Rays beat them IN Boston, and devastate the fans there and cripple them to there knee's. That would be priceless. Then the rays win the WS at home in Tampa, and then everyone is invited to the party!!!

Phillies and LA id suspect as well... Philly beats LA and Rays beat the Phillies, with me in attendance, for the World Series.

Its looking like a Red Sox/Rays showdown. We shall see how important playoff experience is.

I really don't see the Phillies making it. I thought the Cubs were going to do it, but now it looks like its LA.

How great is that for both Manny and Torre.

I would love to see a Sox/Dodgers WS.

Well, I cant totally make predictions, because the White Sox play Detroit, and then may have to play Minnesota..haha. to decide the last AL Spot, but I'll do it both ways, w either of them getting in. If you are a betting man, you may wanna ..well. Im gonna be ACCURATE this year. Smile

First round, best of five:

AL:

Tampa Bay over Minnesota in 4 or Chicago in 5. I think the Rays have to be careful, especially with the White Sox, if they play them. Rays havent played well at the end, tho they had a playoff spot clinched. First year in playoffs, there'll be some nerves, but I think their starting pitching will carry them to a win in either series.

Angels over Red Sox in Five. This one..hmm. I think the Angels will finally get by the Red Sox, This one could be one of those " the hometown wins" series. With that in mind, I think the Angels are a bit better in the pitching department, esp the bullpen, and they have enough offense to get them to a win in a very hard five game series.

NL:

Phillies over Brewers in Four. Sabbathia won't be able to pitch again, till at least game two, probably game three. Sheets is shot, and theres a lot of pressure on Suppan. I think the Brewers had to go all out, as you know, and may be a bit outta gas. The Phillies are playing very well, and I think will take it in four.

Cubs over Dodgers in Five, Tho I would think the Cubs will take the series fairly easily on paper, there are some interesting issues here. Manny, Nomar, Lowe, plus Torre will make the Dodgers give it a really good shot. Plus, Zambrano has been shaky at best for the Cubs, and may have a hard time. I think the Dodgers will steal one at Wrigley, the Cubs the same in LA, and the Cubs will win a home decider. Should be the better of the 2 NL series.

In case Im wrong on any of the above Smile , I'll make my Pennant predictions after the first round is over..haha.

So how did you do?

Got two right, tho was off one on number of games. Those were pretty standard predictions too from many baseball experts on radio and tv.

Playoffs. Tampa in 7, just because they were so close overall, and Tampa has home field.

Dodgers in Six. Wrap it up w game six win in LA.

I will predict a sweep by the Sox. No disrespect to Tampa, but I like the way the Sox are playing right now.

That would really surprise me, to be honest. Even if the Sox win, it should be a good series. Tampa is playing real well right now as well.
