NL..Phils get a couple of HR's off Derek Lowe in Sixth, and a great job by Hamels and Lidge to close it. Phillies lead one Game to zero. Final 3-2. Big comeback win for the Phils. Game two tomorrow at 430 first pitch, followed by Sox and Rays at around 830.

Two interesting series. Phils have Myers tomorrow, not sure who LA is pitching. And its The Dice K vs James Shields in Tampa tomorrow night. Good stuff indeed.

Looks like the sox will take game one. Rays faced with a MUST in game two, if they do lose this one. Can't deny Red Sox are good, so are Rays tho, series is far from over no matter what.

Honestly, why post if you don't have anything to add about the Red Sox and Rays? Do you even follow baseball, other than to say the Yankees aren't here? If so, give me some salient thoughts on the series. Im impressed with both teams pitching, but Dice K was better tonight, and the Rays need to battle back in a hurry in game two.

I am impressed that the Red Sox and the Rays both had better records than the Yankees, and thus are playing in the ALCS.

Rays had chances for sure, two huge ones, and didn't get the job done. The Red Sox did enough, and their pitchers got the big outs, and the Rays didnt clutch hit at all. Good game tho.

One thing, the TBS comment about Red Sox Nation saying why not start Beckett.boo hoo.

Well, Im just a fan, and I picked the order right, as to how they should pitch them, Dice K, Beckett and Lester. So, Id say Red Sox fans would likely have said the same thing. Sometimes, baseball announcers seem to think the fans are dopey or something.

Game two later tonight. Must win, as stated, for Rays.

Only thing done wrong tonight IMO by either team was a RIDICULOUS decision by Pena to swing 3-0 w two on/none out in 8th. Yeah, you can get a good pitch, but a walk there loads bases w none out, and possibly things are different. Hindsight, but at the time, I felt that was an awful decision.

I think the game was very much what people thought. Low scoring, well pitched.

I would rather discuss the Phillies vs. Dodgers series...which the Phillies lead two games to none. Excellent pitching from Hamels in game one. Myers seems to be back to his old self again. Yes, Manny did hit a three-run homer off Myers, but it wasn't enough...as the Phillies knocked around Dodgers starter Billingsley in the first three innings. The Dodgers used four pitchers (the starter and three relievers) in the bottom of the third inning of game two.

Yes, Shawn, the Phillies have been excellent. If they even win one/three in LA, they will head to the WS. The way they are playing now though, I wouldnt be surprised to see the Phils end the series in the next three games. Old Mr Moyer tomorrow night. 46 years old, still keeping batters off balance, and WINNING games.
