Dr. Rabi Chatterjee, a business administration professor at the University of Pittsburgh, said lower crude prices don't always translate into lower prices for consumers. In June 2007, the price per barrel of crude was $65.97 and gasoline cost $2.98 a gallon. Based on that, gasoline would cost $3.16 today. "Crude prices have dropped fairly rapidly in the past few days, and it would be a little bit unreasonable to expect the price at the pump to reflect that," he said. With gasoline about $1 cheaper per gallon than in June, drivers with a 15-gallon tank could save $60 a month. But few said they notice having extra money. I have one independantly owned gas station a block away from my house. Their prices go down once or twice a week. Currently. $2.65 and they only accept CASH. Durring rush periods everyday (3pm-7pm) there is now a police detail directing traffic due to the long lines. I hardly ever go there becaue of the wait. The last time I did, I had to wait about 25 mins to fill up.

I found that odd too. On the highway, NJ was more expensive then CT.... WTF? Off the road a bit, it was about 15 cents cheaper..... still, NJ is usually 30 cents cheaper then CT. I found CT has been cheaper on average then NY, MA and NJ in my last few trips.

Though 2.47 in Auburn, MA a few miles off the Pike.
