I hope our international brothers and sisters will get recognized in the coming polls!

Here's hoping as well, though sadly without the same exposure as the domestic federations, the chances of the international matches winning are pretty slim.

Sorry dude. Sad

Unless you count Kobashi or Liger in ROH.

If your going to shoot my dreams in the back of the neck, at least show the common courtesy of burying them completely. The smell gets bad after your buddies rigor and mortis come around.

But your right, I know my homies from across the sea wouldn't win with this crowd. Nothing wrong with it, but everyone just has differant tastes.

I dont know I think their should be voting for every area of wrestling... like match of the year shouldnt be contested between ROH TNA and local promotions like NECW WFA and Chaotic. Their should be strictly indy voting, than voting for WWE, TNA, and ROH... than possibly an international voting too, but I'm not sure how many people on here know much about the international scene.

well ROH is an indy? why would you have it separate? just because they are popular? i could see the argument about TNA now that they have a TV deal but they are still pretty minor league if you ask me. maybe a best international match? i dunno

Maybe they could have an International section like the Oscars have a "best foreign movie" award.

This would be good for us fans who know little about the international scene to learn something.

November to Dismember

11/8 - EWA, Orange, MA
11/14 - SOW, Brandon, VT
11/15 - FRW, Rochester, NH
11/16 - CHIKARA, Wallingford, CT
11/21 - EPW, White River, VT
11/28 - TRP, Adams, MA
Schedule subject to change without notice

I also think International is a good idea..
But if there are too many subcatagories it will get annoying..

A similar break down as last year with the addition of a few International catagories sounds cool..
ROH is definitely an indy and TNA feeds off most of the same talent.. So I'm not sure they need to be excluded?

I'm not saying exclude them, but in all honesty if you throw ROH and TNA in there against the local indy stuff the majority of the time ROH and TNA will win.... it would be nice to see what people thought was the best local stuff. If you had the choice between Styles vs Daniels or Mad Dog vs Ebony for match of the year who do you think everybody will vote for? Where if you had HBK vs Angle vs Styles vs Daniels the voting would be more balanced out. I just think their should be a way to have all the local indy stuff seperate, that way people can vote on their favorite stuff, and people who dont know much about the local scene may feel more inclined to go check some of the stuff out. I think its highly unfair to put a fed like NECW PWF or WFA against TNA or ROH.

but then it would really only cover MA? thats like if someone from cali came on and said all their locals dont stand a chance so we shouldnt allow new england stuff cuz it is higly unfair?

i dunno i see your point but ROH runs in MA and it really shouldnt be held against them because they are better known? styles vs daniels might win match of the year over mad dog or whoever but that would prolly be a more well rounded result than a match only people in MA saw?

the best would be if everyone could see every match and compare but people not from local areas cant see that areas matches if they arent put up online so why should they be left to say "well i didnt see this i guess i cant vote on anything in this category"

I don't see why ROH shouldn't be included in the voting. All their workers are indy workers. There could be an argument for including TNA as well,as most of their workers are essenitally allowed to work everyplace else in indy wrestling. The only sbag I could think of is TNA's contracts forbid workers from working promotions that have major DVD distribution.

Not to sound like an idiot here, but may I point out this is the indy forum? Many of the international federations like Noah, IWA PR, CMLL are majors and equivalent to WWE. Some even get better ratings.
Isn't this a chance to give recognition to the "little guys"?

You got me, dead to rights you got me. But the international stuff is my favorite, and I wanted to be able to see it in the polls although it would lose.
This is an indy scene, so by definition TNA and the majors from Japan would be out.

How about a possibilty of a Burning Hammer equivalent of the Golden Raspberry awards...ie worst angle of the year, worst gimmick, worst match, most overrated wrestler, etc....

Too me, this seems like more of a New England board anyway.. mainly for Mass/Conn/Ri/Maine... There are other boards for other areas, like DOI for Jersy and such.. So I think we should stick to local feds, and not ROH and TNA

so it should only stick to 2 or 3 states cuz thats about the extent of wrestling in new england. snooze. i for one am from CT but still check stuff out from all over. doing a best of for just new england is boring to me. there are still plenty of good matches and workers from new england but why not see how they rate among "indy wrestling" in general (since this is an indy board) rather than just selling them short implying they cant compete with what is out there in the rest of the area?

I could swear the mods were saying this was a forum for indy wrestling nationwide.

And DOI?Are you fucking serious?

Then I am very glad it's not up to you. New England is a snoozefest..

Morbius's suggestion on a "worst of" goes against the spirit of Rasslin fans but I like the idea, especially if we got together and sent an award to Vince Macmahon for that Kurt Angle stalker crapfest. That kills careers.

Also- it'd secure the WWE a victory. All the nominees would be from there.

Actually can we add a poll for Best Lariat? Mostly a Japanese thing but some US guys have decent lariats. I wanna know who the most popular lariat users are.

All I am saying is that this seems to be mainly east coast, mainly NE board... There are so many territorial boards out there. Maybe the people who run this board can clear things up. But I think New England is really comming alive with talent.

Maybe I am wrong,a nd I appologize if I am about this being mainly a NE board.

id agree if NE mean north east. if you look at alot of the posts plenty of people go to roh, japw, cyberspace, uxw etc. and if you limit it to new england its not really fair to people who arent from there because they cant see those shows. if new england is comin alive so much then they shouldnt have a problem being represented right?
