In 2005 AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels continued their reigns as the top independent wrestlers in the country. As the top stars, the two battled it out for #1 in the majority of promotions they worked for. Most notable being their feud in TNA for the X-division championship,which featured two 30 minute iron man matches for the X-division title. The two continued their rivalry all across the independents from an iron man match in World Series Wrestling out of Australia, to a 2/3 falls match at Ball Park Brawl IV for the Natural title, to a heated feud in International Wrestling Cartel. In 2005 the two athletes also faced one another in Irish Whip Wrestling, TWC International Showdown, and a 60 minute draw in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.
