2004 was not without its vast selection of match of the year candidates. TNA, USA Pro and ROH all featured several fan favorite matches. But on December 5, 2004 The team of Triple X and Americas Most Wanted stole the show in the "6 Sides of Steel" cage match featured on NWA TNA's Turning Point Pay Per View. The brutal and bloody match between the two rivals won the praise of fans who chanted "this is awesome" before the conclusion of the match. The grueling bout featured an impressive array of maneuvers, but none as amazing as Elix Skipper's hurricanrana from the top of the cage in which he balance walked across the top of the steel cage. Though Triple X lost the match, all 4 participants proved to be the stars of the show and produced a classic wrestling match of the year.
