I regretably have to inform anyone attending the FRW shows in both Leominster and/or Portmouth that All Star Champion Christian Angers will not be able to wrestle on either show due to a continuing injury he recieved last month in Rochester NH.
We are rearranging the card as we speak and should have completed cards up by tommorow morning, and wish Angers a speedy recovery.

WTF? Did Portsmouth rename itself or something?
Fixed the original post. Sorry...on top of finding out Angers was a no-go last night, I snapped the throttle cable on my pickup truck last night and was on 495 South til 2am waiting for a tow truck. I'm operating on caffine...the sleep replacement kit.

Mav, what is the rule on defending the title, while injured? I can remember the days that if the belt wasn't defended w/in a 30, and sometimes 60, day period, that the title often was vacated. Now, this was in WWWF and other promotions. Does FRW have any policy regarding this?

Never had to deal with it...so no.
Last year around this time, the title was taken off the former champion and put up for grabs in a combination 1st round tournament/2nd round luck of the draw gauntlet match. While it proved to be a blessing as the 8 guys involved put on one hell of a show...we'd rather not keep throwing the title holder out the door every time something goes wrong.
Anger's injury is based on a wierd and not so common sprain over the muscles that protect the colar bone. From what I understand, that injury has pretty much healed himself, but now what is showing up is all the sprains to the connected muscles; shoulder, neck, etc. We'll give him until Rochester in May, where he should be fine. Otherwise...we'll have to punt.
If you're reading this, Mr. Angers...go right ahead and give the specifics of the injury. I pride myself in trying to be as honest as possible with FRW.

I was just busting your balls.
It sounds like you had a completely suck ass night. Hopefully you can catch up on some of that lost sleep. Not that you ever really catch up on sleep, but you know what I mean.

Christian will be missed, and I hope he takes all the time he needs to heal up well. That being said, the rest of the roster has the ability to still put on a kickass show without him. I have no doubt that this will happen in both Leominster and Portsmouth this weekend.

Mav pretty much summed it up. The shoulder absorbed all of my weight and jammed my colarbone in towards my chest. Like any joint that gets over flexed, it was sprained and limited my mobility until some swelling went down. After that, other effects of the bump started showing up. Since X-Rays don't show soft tissue, any damage other than bone is unknown at this point. I've had to take time off for this shoulder before and I recenlty aquired bursitis (swollen elbow) as well.
I got in the ring Monday night and worked a few drills with Tony Spencer. After only a few minutes, I could tell I was doing more harm than good. I really have no strength in the arm and it gets strained easy. The range of motion is good though.
It's nice to hear that people were looking forward to a re-match between Tommy Mack and myself. I was looking forward to both of my matches this weekend, but now is not the time to play tough guy as my arm has to last longer than my wrestling career. I'm sure Front Row Wrestling and their varried talent will deliver great shows this weekend.
I have my sights set on May for both EPW and FRW. In the mean time I'm going to schedule some more doctor visits and make sure I don't need anything more than time and ice to get back in the ring.
