I like Joey Styles but his WWE announcing hasn't really blown me away. Even toned down he's still better than most, though.

That being said, I'm willing to give Adamle a chance. He's been improving on the mic and he's certainly capable of doing play-by-play. I just hope he's actually taken the time to learn the moves. He's got Tazz with him, and Tazz is great, so I imagine there will be a lot of coaching and leading.

Of course, it's entirely possible this is a one night thing. Perhaps Styles' passport wasn't up to date (weren't a lot of passports stolen at Wrestlemania?) or he might've had a family emergency, so until we hear something official, I'm gonna assume Adamle is just filling in.

Styles isn't the same in WWE anyway. I will check out ECw atleast once to see how Mike does. I wonder where Joey will end up

All reprots indicate this is a permanent move and not a one night decision

Yeah, I'm not so sure that's a promotion. Wasn't Michael Cole in charge of WWE.com for some time too? Somehow he managed to run that and announce at the same time.

In any case, Adamle hasn't really messed anything up yet...

Well, to Adamle's credit, he IS a play-by-play guy. The problem is there's a huge difference between calling football and wrestling. He's gotta learn the names of the moves and even more importantly, the names of the wrestlers. He's got no jersey back to read off of.

I heard Tazz pick up the slack for him a couple of times already, but otherwise, he's doing alright.

I'd rather have Styles in, though.

I only saw the last match, and he needs a bit more emotion. But, when u do something for the first time, you take advice from people, and improve on your next chance. Thats how it should be. Yeah, hes done announcing before, but each type of sport is different, and doing play by play for wrestling isn't as easy as it seems, Id say.

Fair enough. We should give the guy a few weeks to adjust. I do miss Joey already though.

Why do you miss Joey? Hes a shell of what he was once, due to restraints.

I'm all about giving people the benefit of the doubt, and I've already defended him in this thread, but let's face facts here - he's been doing on-air work with WWE for how long now? Since the Royal Rumble or so, correct? And he barely knows the names of the wrestlers.

I can understand getting caught up on a move here and there, but at least know who's in the ring.

I just do. Even though he wasn't anywhere near what he was in ECW, he was still (along with Tommy Dreamer) the only thing ECW left on ECW.

Yeah, after my first time doing ring announcing, I took advice from an experienced person, and improved each of the next two times, tho I havent had another chance since from anyone. POINT IS. Asshole, that I wouldnt have made that post I did, if I didnt know it was the truth.
