A Message from the Owner of NWA Upstate

I would like to thank all those that have been involved with NWA Upstate over the years making it by far Rochester's most sucessfull wrestling promotion. But all good things must come to an end. So with a heavy heart I am sad to announce that as of July 12th NWA Upstate will cease operation.

If this is true, this is going to be a major blow to indies in this part of the state.

With them partnering up with 2CW, maybe that was to try and get back on their feet? Ummm i wondering if this is a work or not. If not, maybe 2CW can pick up the slack?

The final journey or just the beginning?

12/13 - JAPW in Rahway, NJ

Ron Falco over on the NWA Upstate board pretty much confirmed this is true. So much for it being a work as they were doing an angle where they were feuding with 2CW.

Too bad. Sounds like they had a solid thing going.

I don't think 2CW will pick up much of the slack. Looking at their schedule they seem comfortable running 1 show a month.

But I wouldn't worry to much. Where there are wrestlers, there will be wrestling. Rochester has other wrestling feds and some of the Upstate guys will move over to them. And someone will start a new company I am sure.

I am just sorry I never got to say "Upstate Sucks" to their face.

Disclaimer: Upstate don't really suck.

He also used to be a trainer in Schenectady, NY ... he was my trainer actually. He was also responsible for training New England wrestlers Kayla Sparks, Timmy Aiight, and Lenn Oddity. Chip Stetson is a great guy, and I'm really glad he's stepping in to save NWA Upstate!

From what I read over on NWA Upstate's board, Hellcat will continue to run NWA Empire. I wonder if he was losing money running both feds and decided to cut the bigger money loser.

That would make sense, especially with them both being NWA affiliates.

Just to put a few rumors to rest,NWA Upstate was not losing money.Owner Hellcat has alot of irons in the fire and was stretching himself too thin. He's trusting his best friend Chip Stetson to take over Upstate. But make no mistake about it,this is CHIPS fed. However, anyone that knows Hellcat knows he never lets anything go for free.Even though I work for NWA Upstate and NWA Empire, there seems to be a hush about all this.I'll be very curious to see how this unfolds.
I know I didn't clarify alot,but I hope it helps.

You know, enough please..

Best of luck to the relaunch of NWA Upstate, and from what I hear from people, 2CW is also a solid promotion, w crazy fans and stuff. Its always fun to see some different wrestlers, new promotions, etc.
