Ended up hitting NEPW, and their interesting brand of wrestling this evening. First off, on a personal note, my friend Infamous Tim made his final NE Indy appearance before he moves, was a great surprise to see him there. Also, great seeing Barry, Rissa, JD, Kaz, Rachel, JT, and the rest of the gang, had a really fun time, one of the best in a long time.
Show began bout 610..Attendance 135 or so.
Nice opener saw the Alumni Club w Marshall McNeil score the win over the team of Perry Von Vigaro? and John Futuro. The young team stayed with the club, but in the end, were done in by a double team manuever for the win for the Alumni.
The Immortal Zack Static took on local favorite Dirt Dog Jeremy Leary who was cheered on by his group of wild friends/fans. Ok match, was interrupted by Mike Lynch 2.0 who KO'd Static, causing Leary to be DQ'd and setting up a match later.
In one of the top matches, the NE champ Brian Anthony defended vs Furio Falcone, Kid Mikaze and Kristian Frost in a four corners match. This one was a wild non stop affair, w action in and out of the ring, at times baffling Ref Holyoke Joe. In the end, Mikaze got a pin on Frost, to become the NEW NEPW NE Champion.
Billy "the Sex" (yeah..hehe) King w JJ Alexander defeated Malice. Interesting character for King, w a promo that wasnt too intelligible, mainly due to the mic. King won w a lion tamer/scorpion type of a cross submission
Up next, Slyck Wagner Brown battled Frankie Arion. I was looking forward to this match, and let me tell you it was AMAZING. For me, easily MOTN, and one of the best Ive seen in a while. Tremendous intenstiy and near falls, plus brawling. After near 20 minutes. Frankie put Slyck in a submission similar to the Undertakers new one. Slyk fought it, and kept dropping Frankie on his shoulders, for near falls. Slyck then started clobbering Frankie w forearms to the nose, drawing blood. Ref holyoke stopped the match at this point, the winner of this great match, Slyck Wagner Brown
After intermission, College defended the tag belts vs Scotty Reed and Aaron Morrison. The Bizarre stip said that whenever a man hit the floor, he had to drink a shot of liquor. This silliness slowed things down to a crawl, and dragged on. The match, when it was in the ring, wasnt much, and College retained.
Up next, it was Kevin Landry winning a good battle of the big men match by defeating Brian Milonas to retain the NEPW HW title. Milonas came close on several occassions, but in the end, Landry got a fast s urprise pin to retain.
coming out now, from the St Louis territories, Stretcher McGuirk. He said he was being dodged by George Hackenschmitt, and also that he was going to unveil his new hold, the bear hug..hehe. Also, he was in NEPW to meet their top man, the BIG COCK. This was pure comedy, w the obligatory Cock comments. Pretty funny, saw the Cock get the win, and then proceed to simulate some other shenanigans. Simply total comedy, w the star being McGuirk, or as we know him, Joey Eastman. I guess Eastman had enough Cock for one night
IN another top match, that showcased tremendous scientific action, Bobby Fish met Antonio Thomas w Marshall McNeil. Match was another one of the nights top matches, to nobody's surprise that I sat with. In the end, McNeil's croquet mallett came into play sadly, and Thomas got a cheap win, after 15 minutes or so of quality wrestling.
Final match saw Lynch 2.0 defeat Jeremy Leary. I know that Learys wild fans were a good reason to have this match, but Im not sure why this was billed as a main event, and ended the show, when there were so many other matches that probably should have closed the show. JMO tho. The Leary fans werent happy w the outcome, but such is life.
No return date yet announced. Interesting nite indeed, and as I said, for a variety of reasons, one of my favorites in a while..

Anyone who was at the show in April will understand why the Dirt Dawg was in the main event. Just ask JD. |

Well, he's obviously wayyy over, at least with this friends and such. I just find it odd to put that over two title matches, and two hi profile singles matches. I don't mean to sound nitpicking, just was odd to me.
But, as stated, NEPW put on a fun event, with something for every type of fan, and I look forward to being part of the next event hopefully. |

Huh? The kid has a lot of fans, and looked pretty good in the ring. Why twist things around Randy? I was just asking a question. Man, sensitive..

I really enjoyed this show more than any other one they've done in the past...
I really enjoyed the 4 way match, those 4 guys can make any match good- and to put them together, you're gonna get nothing less than amazing.
Frankie/Slyck- was just phenominal... SO MUCH better than their first one at DPW. The ending to me kinda sucked, but now i understand why it was stopped.
The cock match to me, was the best comedy match that any show could have... The ending cracked me up more than anything.
Fish/Antonio; was what i expected it to be, nothing but the best... Those 2 guys have improved so much since i first saw them, and facing eachother was so good.
those stood out to me the most, i can't wait till their next show... I had so much fun, as i always do at their shows! |
10/12: T3WP.
Word, lolz.

This sure was a whos who of the burning hammer. Despite the ring getting there late, it didnt take long for them to let us in.
Good opening tag match with NE's top tag team, the alumni club
Dirt Dogg/Statik was ok... set up lynch 2. vs dogg
4 way for the title was good... bit short, but, very good. A lot of non stop action, and your attention was always divided. With anthony not getting pinned, and him and mikaze seemingly pissed at each other, we could see a spin off from PGW
Billy King/Malice was a solid bout. James Mitchell's clone was the manager of "the sex". Kudos for him for trying to work elsewhere while DPW is in hiatus.
In a contender for match of the year, slyck took on frankie. This was a true instant classic. It looks like frankies nose was broke or busted bad.
The "Shot" match was a bore. They did it WAY too much, it lost its mystique after a while. I was glad this was eventually over.
Good big man match between the brickhouse kevin landry and big brian milonas. Not sure why the heavyweight title match wasnt last.
The cock/eastman thing was GREAT. eastman plays a great gimmick and maks you really laugh. the cock, well, thats a given. Seems like one fan was offended and left... apparently he came back. No, it wasnt GG.
Fish/Thomas was also a classic. This could of gone longer, but, the cheap win for thomas gets even more heat on him, hopefully, for a rematch.
Dogg/2.0 was ok.... i dig the lynch 2.0 gimmick.... dogg def has his "fans" there, which made tons of noise and were crazy, which was pretty cool to have fans into the show. I can see why this was the main event, but, i also do feel the heavyweight title match could of been last.
Pictures up soon! |

WOW - I just briefly read the review of this. Sounds FANTASTIC. Looking forward to reading it in more detail. Glad to hear you guys had fun and sorry to hear Tim is moving. Only met him once at a PGW show, but he's a real sweet guy. At least he can still post on here! |

Miss Young, lets not derail this into another Holly doesn't go thread, if we can.....
Did anyone else on here have opinions on the show and shenanigans of this epic event last night? Infamous Tim, weigh in on it. |
Ah, yes....to be free to go to out of state shows, prowl around at night, leaving signs on peeps cars, pounding on doors and running. No responsiblities, not a care in the world. To have a life that revolved around nothing but indy wrestling. Gotta admit, though it sounds sorta cool at times, I wouldn't know about stuff like that. |

The Good:
-Slyck vs. Frankie Arion
-Antonio vs. Fish: I hadn't seen Fish since before he broke his ankle. that man hasn't lost a beat
-The Cock
-4- way Match
-Mike Lynch's 2.0 gimmick
The Bad:
-Dirt Dawg's really loud fans (they were fun, but kind of annoying when I was trying to hear a promo)
-the "shot" match...like others have said, went on a little too long for my good
-not having the main event be a "main event" match.
The Ugly:
-Brian Anthony stealing my popcorn and not paying me for it
in all seriousness, i had a blast. things look good for nepw up there & i definitly didn't leave disappointed. |

Hey Toots, your comments bout Mr McNeil and myself wont go unpunished..haha.
Also, Rachel, he stole your popcorn, but pelted me with it..ugh..hehe.
Yes, it was a good time by all, and I find it hard that Frankie and Slyck will be topped for a while. |
