Here too (Norwalk & Stamford CT). Finding it *under* $4 a gallon would be news. Except for a couple of stations on Route 7, the average price seems to be around $4.07, with some as high as $4.30 or more. |

Syracuse, New York (WSYR-TV) - We’ve heard about it for months, but it has finally arrived in central New York. Regular unleaded gas is now selling above $4 a gallon at some stations.
A handful of area stations are now at the milestone mark, including the Mobil station at the corner of Velasko and Onondaga roads. It’s actually selling gas for $4.05 a gallon.
The average price in the Syracuse area right now is $3.89. Just two weeks ago it was $3.70. One year ago it was $3.11.
The national average is $3.79 a gallon. That's a 17 cent hike over the past two weeks.

Id say im shocked, but, i saw $4 about 2 weeks ago in my area... most areas around me are $4.07... "discounted" areas are $3.93.
I find it amazing how NY is cheaper then CT for gas. |

Seeing most states wont let you pump gas without paying, it probably isnt. When iw as in VT, the "big debate" was how you now have to prep-pay for gas now. I know down south, you just pumped, then payed for gas... that was a few years ago. Though, the laws for drive offs down there are serious, and everytime you pump, your reminded of what can happen. |

This reminds me of a something that happened to me years ago. I was once driving through some rural town in Viginny or North Carolina when I stopped for gas. Since this place was so rural, I figured it was "pump first, pay later." But when I tried the pump it did not work. I went inside and asked the guy if he wanted me to pay first. He said no and that he didn't know I was out there. So he turned on the pump and I went out and filled up my tank. When I went inside to pay, the guy looks and me and in all seriousness asks, "How much did you put in?" |
