Also how would anyone get involved with those crazy guys?

Nobody's working CZW on a consistent basis from New England, but they do occasionally bring a guy or two in for a shot every once in a blue moon.

contact the booker. Send them a tape. E-mail them

That's how you get into places. It's not some mystery science about getting booked in a different area.

I understand.

CZW is a fun product, and Zandig runs a fine little promotion that has had longevity. I know he isn't the booker, and I'm pretty sure that Maven Bentley is.

They use a lot of up and comers like Danny Havok, Drake younger, Skotty Votex, and mix them with established guys like Necro, Joker, and people like that.

Whenever the promoter believes he is the biggest star in the company the company is bound to suck.

And CZW, since the stuff with ROH has sucked big time.

It was the drizzling shits for a while, but since the Night of Infamy show last November, they've been doing pretty well. Certainly not the best wrestling in the world, and they've had some rather lackluster stuff, but in the end, they're really not all that bad. The ultraviolence stuff isn't for everyone, but there are enough alternatives out there that you don't have to watch it if you don't want to. If it's your thing, though, it's certainly a better option than IWA-MS.

CZW has a little something for everyone. I don't always like the ultra violence stuff but watching iron man title matches are great. The fed is a good mix of ROH and PWG guys and then some.

CZW is terrible. How many years have they been around? How many CZW mainstays have made it anywhere?

I'm actually curious. I have no idea.

It's not your thing, that doesn't make it terrible. Seriously, for the niche it appeals to, it's not that bad most of the time. I think most of the people just judge it based off of the early days of the company where Zandig was getting hung by meathooks and dumbasses like Ric Blade were jumping off of 40 foot platforms. Nowadays, you have the occasional blood mark match on each show, but they have a good little junior heavyweight crew and the occasional comedy feud. Of course they still have their ultraviolent staples (Cage of Death, Tournament of Death, etc.), but it's much, much more tame than it used to be.

Nine.

Well, let's see...you've got a good majority of the deathmatch guys from the early days going to Big Japan on a frequent basis due to the working relationship between the two companies back in the day. The company made itself known in Italy in 2003, doing a couple of shows over there. Necro Butcher's arguably one of the top 10 most popular names on the indies and has worked everywhere there is to work aside from WWE and TNA. The Haas Brothers were frequently on the early cards before getting signed to WWE developmental. A ton of the junior guys that are best known for their time in ROH also worked CZW on occasion (Shelley, Aries, etc.). Sure, the deathmatch wrestling that they're notorious for isn't filled with guys known around the world aside from a few, but the flippy undercard is more or less just every other large Philly indy promotion.

You are correct.

What makes it terrible is that the promotion has been around for NINE years and for the better part of NINE years has made no positive difference in the wrestling.

When CZW started I remember it as the ARM PIT of wrestling. Garbage style wrestling appealing to a niche audience.

CZW has very few if any valuable alumni. You make mention of Necro Butcher. He maybe one of the only interesting thing to come out of CZW. Not that that's saying much.

To each his own but if you aren't trying to make it big and make some money what is the point of nearly killing yourself and scarring yourself? When I see CZW I see a bunch of guys who are legends in their own mind taking risks that will not further there careers. They take risks that will shorten careers.

Another sign you are doing something wrong is when the better wrestlers that worked for you won't touch your promotion with a 10ft pole. Now that they have moved on.

does Necro have any talent outside of the hardcore stuff he does or did with CZW ? I've only seen him in CZW, he has to be doing soemthing right since he's with ROH. I havent seen him yet in ROH so I'm wondering if he has any sorta of talent.

I once heard CZW referred as Professional Backyard Wrestling

Everyone takes their own routes in life, some people choose to be deathmatch dudes for whatever reason. Some enjoy the pain, some know it's a fast track to indy wrestling notoriety and getting better bookings...there's a reason for everything. It's not like guys are unwillingly doing it.

Absolutely. No one expects him to put on fantastic matches and no one will go out there and say he's a fantastic worker, but he's something different and fresh. A unique character and he's something different than everything else in ROH. Better to have a Necro Butcher that stands out than another Roderick Strong/Erick Stevens/Davey Richards/Brent Albright that all just blend together.

We are all derailers. Its ingrown, like a toenail..

Hopefully, someone will get it back on track. I never saw CZW, but do know they used to have some good talent, who actually wrestled.

I wasn't much for the crazy stuff. Ive seen some of that on DVD, like light tube cabin matches and stuff, but to each his own.

When?

I think that was when NWA Wildside used to send a few of their workers to CZW. Jimmy Rave was also a regular in CZW before he went to ROH.

The only "homegrown" talent of czw that has gone on to do much of anything is Sonjay Dutt.
