epw-

How about some results from Thursday and Friday? How were the crowds? I heard almost 200 on Thursday but I didn't get any results. Is Kongo still the champ?

We drew around 450 on Thursday and almost 500 on Friday. And as posted previously, we did about 350 on Saturday. Not the attendance we were expecting, but running in the summer time probably wasn't the optimal time for such an event.

But the action was amazing and we look forward to performing in all of these great facilities again very soon.

It's a real pet peeve of mine when promoters come on here and make up attendance figures. What is the point? Don't they realize we may actually attend the shows or see photos of the event, etc., etc.

epw- your own ring announcer said 200 in Stoneham and you say almost TWICE that? He knows a little about wrestling and from what I was told HE was overestimating. You're just being ridiculous. People can look at the photos from Fall River and anyone who knows that building realizes your figures are unrealistic. What is the point?

I don't know much about running shows but I know the summer is not a good time for wrestling. Some promotions just close down.

Thing ring announcer from stoneham should have counted or asked the person in charge of the door for an estimate. Oh well, his mistake.

Keep in mind with all these events that you are looking at pictures of a place that holds between 1,500 and 2,000 if you fill it. So even 500-800 people is going to look like shit.

See, this is exactly what I mean! Get real! Who do you think you're talking to on this forum? The only thing the ring announcer did wrong was to not put the promoter's spin on it.

Actually, 500-800 looks pretty darn good in buildings that size. 200 looks like shit.

Well, anyone who can't tell the difference between 200 and 500 is an idiot. If you made it to any of the shows you would know that 200 is an EXTREMELY unrealistic account of what was actually there. EPW has done 200 in the Plainfield Town Hall and all three shows at these larger venues drew significantly better.

There is no such thing as passing proverbial torches...Lighting new ones is all that counts.

My suggestion to everyone is go look through the pics from Fall RIver at
http://public.fotki.com/csullivan822/indy-wrestling/epw/epw-uinted-we-slam/

You will clearly see the crowd size there and you can make yourw own decision on if EPW is exagerrating the crowd sizes for their event. Hopefully someone took pics at the Stoneham event as well and we can judge from that also.

Ok, this is by far one of the funniest threads. Arguing over the attendance of a show that someone obviously wasn't at. Look, I'm obviously gonna to be labelled an EPW co-conspiritor (sp?) but humor me for a minute. Thursdays event took place at the Plymouth Memorial Hall which from what I was told held 1500....not sure but the place was pretty huge, one of the biggest I've ever wrestled in. For a minute I'm going to be a nerd and prove something. I was one of the guys who helped set up chairs for this event. We set up 18 seats per row and had 3 rows on the floor on all 4 sides of the ring. 18 x 3 = 54 chairs. Now 54 chairs x 4 sides of the ring = 216 chairs. From my vision the floor was full. So that alone is more than the number someone was supposedly told. There are 2 more levels in this building and there were people scattered all over the place. Did it look full? Not at all. It was very disappointing, especially for a guy who took a running leap off of a concert stage...check out my youtube Smile (obviously cheap plug and attempt at a laugh). But from my stand point I was guessing at at least between 400 to 500 people in attendance. Again great for a hall that holds 1500 or more? No...but still a lot more than someone was told. Just my opinion. Also Fall River (my home town) was pretty packed. Again the floor was pretty much full....not sold out but full. But the fans sitting on the 2 side bleachers made those pretty full as well. The fans on the far bleachers were minimal. Again my guess of 400-500. Stoneham was pretty cool. That place had a lot of people for sure. Definitely nothing to be ashamed of. Like Thursday, the floor was full so again over 200 there and the bleachers were quite full as well.

Again I'll be labelled an EPW boy....but unless you were at the show and could cast a judgement as to what you feel the crowd size was you probably shouldn't say anything at all cause you just sound like a bitter asshole and are just creating trouble. Instead maybe you should just buy a ticket and show up and have a good time watching us do what we love and then take shit on the attendance later (if you must).

You can write all you want but it won't make the attendance at those shows any larger or you any taller.

Dan I'll buy you some lifts for your wedding gift so don't worry about getting any taller, I gotcha covered!

I wouldn't be that concerned about the attendance figures, they seem like their accurate just from looking at the pictures. The real scandal is EPW piping in cheering over the loudspeakers during the Rocco matches!

Maybe someday Bob will run the Garden, Jazzo can headline the show and make everybody millions. But until that day comes drawing several hundred in each town 3 days in a row will be fine I'm sure.

Jon Thornhill..... he's not the Jon of the old!

well, i can say that i attended Friday's show and can say that there was no more than 300. i went around counting everyone. in fact i did it three times just because i know that epw people have had a tendency to fudge on the attendance figures of their shows over the last few months. i got a grand total of 278.. nowhere near the 500 that they claim to have had. sorry but this fan is no moron and passed 1st grade math..
