Honestly, I dont think I did. I have no idea how I found it either. I remember the NEI and then this and I really didnt think this was better then the NEI till the NEI started sucking wind and becoming a joke. This was less of a joke, and, here we are today! |

I forget how I got here...which is a common theme in my life.
J & J were good guys, but very opinionated (esp. Guru). Everybody's allowed an opinion, but I think the fact they were both moderators and so partisan towards certain things put a lot of people off.
The NEI events were kind of neat. I remember on the second one, they and even Dr. Heresy and myself got a some heat. The event was held in Southbridge, where we were running EWA shows and we "lent" the building out to the NEI. People cried foul when the then EWA champion Cueball went over in the finals, basically saying some sort of funny business or a deal of sorts went on between the NEI guys and the EWA (at the time, Dr. Heresy and myself). While I was pretty cozy with those guys, that isn't what happened, and I think enough time has passed for people to know what really happened.
What actually happened was Louis Ortiz was supposed to go over in the finals, but during his 2nd round match w/ Cueball (who I had put over in the first round) he rolled his ankle bad. Louis, figuring he probably couldn't do the whole tournament at that point, called it in the ring and had Cueball pin him. That brought it to Cueball and Alex Arion in the finals, and at that point a coin got flipped.
Me...I think Arion should have gone over. Watching Ghost throw his notebook on the ground when he pinned John Walters was damn funny! I suspect him coming out on top at the end would have brought on a stroke. |

I never posted on the forum, but I used the site a lot to find indy shows...that's how I found out about Terry Funk being at XoBuKo in Danbury, CT...and subsequently re-arranged my 5th wedding annivesary vacation trip to attend the show...and almost 5 years later I'm still hearing about it. From the near fatal beating one kid took at the show, to the bloodstained comfort inn we stayed at...shit you not!
We check in, go to the room, I'm looking at the bathroom door and there is blood spatter on the door at face level...I tell me wife not to sit on or touch anything. I found more blood splatter in the entryway of the room, and in the hallway. There is a what appears to be a bloody fingerprints streaming down the wall near the floor...like someone was being dragged down the hallway....we went down to the front desk and inquired about it. They clerk new nothing of the sort.
We went to a different hotel...I'm a police dispatcher, I stopped in at the local PD, traded patches and was told of the actual near fatal domestic assault that happened at said hotel 2 weeks ago. And yes that was a bloody finger streaks from her being dragged back into the room.
Back on track...
Although I never got to know the NEI guys well, I did sit with them at the much talk about (by me) AAW show in Augusta back in 2004. We had a great time. |

I was looking for Sex-Machineguns' Burning Hammer on Google (Because you can never have too much of either)
Then my arm caught fire and looked like their album cover and the wrestling gods directed me here!
or someone told me about it.
I can't remember which!
