It may just be me, but Eddie Kingston being added is the most underwhelming news all year. It may just be me, but he kinda, oh i don't know, sucks. if he is truly the last of a dying breed, he should just finish the job. Remember Eddie, it's down the stream, not across the street.

Osirian Portal being added makes yet one more reason why this show will be awesome (minus BLK OUT).

Id rather see Mitch Ryder and Shane Hawk than the Portal. when the old snake guy was slithering around and rolling around on the floor at the Framingham show it kinda turned me off of him,to put it mildly .

Ring Of Honor is set to tape its next pay-per-view tonight in Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania National Guard Armory on 2700 Southampton Rd with a zip code of 19154. Belltime is 7:30pm and there will be tickets available at the door at the air conditioned National Guard Armory.

The Age Of The Fall of Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black captured the ROH World Tag Team Titles last night in Hartford, CT. They will immediately put them on the line. Tonight's bout pitting Jacobs & Black vs. Bryan Danielson & Austin Aries will now be for the ROH World Tag Team Titles.

Go Shiozaki took exception to Nigel McGuinness' post match attack on Kevin Steen in Hartford.. He stopped McGuinness from continuing the attack last night. This has only added fuel to the fire for tonight's World Title Match.

Eddie Kingston made a surprise appearance last night and exchanged hard-hitting strikes with Jigsaw. These two are primed and ready for their bout tonight.

There are no injuries coming out of last night's show and everyone is 100% for the PPV taping tonight.

The unique Osirian Portal will get a try-out match on the preshow tonight.

Ernie Osiris will put the Top Of The Class Trophy on the line against Rhett Titus tonight.

Roderick Strong and Erick Stevens both told ROH officials to expect an insane Fight Without Honor tonight as each is looking to brutalize the other to win their final one-on-one match in ROH.

Get your tickets at the door tonight and witness the "Respect Is Earned II" PPV weeks before everyone else.

The ROH board is down. I hope that sometime tBH can organize results and one day get attention when this happens.

I stole this from the PWTorch site:

"

Thanks to John Philapavage and Brian Streleckis from PWChronicle.com for the following results of ROH's "Respect is Earned 2 PPV taping.

They announced the next Philadelphia show for September 20. Only one side of the bleachers is open.

Pre-show
1) Shane Hagadorn & Mitch Franklin defeated the Osirian Portal. Hagadorn pinned Amasis with an STO. Decent match and a fun ROH debut for the Chikara duo, who were over with the local crowd and got a lot of offense in. The crowd chanted “Please come back” after the match.

2) Rhett Titus defeated Ernie Osiris to win the Top of the Class Trophy. Titus’s offense was solid but his selling was weak. The crowd was generally quiet but liked the finish, which saw Titus win with a crucifix powerbomb.

Main Show
(Star ratings by John)

1) Kevin Steen & El Generico defeated Ruckus & Jigsaw. The PPV opener was hot with fast but well-paced action. Steen was extremely over and was really funny. Steenerico used a Steenton Bomb and a splash by Generico for the win. ***1/2

2) Claudio Castagnoli defeated Davey Richards It was a back-and-forth match with Richards hitting a crazy dive early on and the crowd was into the fast pace. It settled in with Richards working over Claudio’s arm. The finish was a little abrupt with Claudio finishing him with a giant swing and a big European uppercut. John rates it ***.

3) Brent Albright, Delirious, & Pelle Primeau defeated Chris Hero, Adam Pearce, & Eddie Edwards of Sweet & Sour Inc. John calls it “classic Freebird heel stuff” with a long beat-down on Delirious. The crowd was begging for a hot tag to Albright, which he eventually received. He cleaned house and did some no-selling, and scored the win with knees from the double underhook on Edwards. **3/4

After the match, Adam Pearce revealed what was in his briefcase as promised by Larry Sweeney. It was Pearce’s NWA Championship belt, which he used to lay out Albright.

4) Fight Without Honor: Roderick Strong defeated Erick Stevens They worked stiff as hell and it was extremely violent. Chairs and a ladder came into play and Strong bled a lot early on. He made a comeback and hit a backbreaker through a chair. Stevens had some good hope spots and eventually hit a TKO off the apron onto the ladder. They had a big chop battle, the Strong hit a chair shot on Stevens. Strong won the match and the feud (in ROH, at least) by slamming Stevens off the ladder and through a table. Very dangerous, but a great hardcore match that will play well on DVD."

I don't know if I'll find the rest.

Continuation is from the ROHBoard

4) Roderick Strong defeats Erick Stevens in a Fight Without Honor. Match was "ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL" (in a good way). Both men lost teeth(conflicting reports on this one) and bled a ton. Apparently Erick Stevens broke some ribs. Strong wins with a superplex off of a 20 ft. ladder through a pair of tables.

~After the match Larry Sweeney returns and once again asks Roderick to join SNS Inc. Roderick again refuses. Davey Richards makes his way down. He tries to convince Strong to join but Roderick still refuses. Davey reveals a SNS Inc. shirt and beats down Strong.

~INTERMISSION~

~Delirious is out as we return from intermission and once again calls out Daizee Haze (doesn't she get the point of this by now?). She comes out, ONCE AGAIN followed by Rhett Titus. Titus is the one in a nice shirt and tie this time. He apologizes to Daizee, gives her his number, and asks for a three way date amongst them. Haze accepts.

5) ROH World Championship: Nigel McGuinness defeats Go Shiozaki with the London Dungeon in what was described as a somewhat dull match with little chemistry. Go busted Nigel's chest open with chops.

6) ROH World Tag Team Championships: Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black defeat Austin Aries & Bryan Danielson to retain. Aries and Jacobs fought to the back. Tyler Black hit Dragon with two Small Package Drivers and a Phoenix Splash to score a pin on him.

~After the match Nigel McGuinness comes out and tells Danielson that he gets no title shot until Dragon can beat everyone Nigel has.

7) Jigsaw defeats Eddie Kingston with a doublestomp off the top rope. Jigsaw got beatdown by BLKOUT after the match.

8) Necro Butcher defeats Jay Briscoe in a falls count anywhere match.

Leopleurodon '08 It will guide our way.

real good event. I guess Ernie Osiris is running the pre-show,first his tag team and then him in the main event. the Osiris Portal was ok but the snake dude annoys me and ive only seen him twice now. Franklin didnt do much of his Petey Williams gimmick rip off last night. hey the dudes in shape, not gonna crap on him for that. the Pharoh was setting up a lame ass Booker T like have your opponent stay bent over and twiddle your thumbs while holding your hand on your ass while i eventually come off with an axe kick maneuver. after seeing that i was glad they lost. Steenerico vs. VS was real good. the best ive seen the VS look. Ruckus looked good in CT and better here. i was hoping for a top rope brain buster but it was not to be. they teased it which kinda ended the suspense of actually seeing it. Claudio vs. Davey was real good, the ending wasnt a surprise sadly. Claudio's uppercut dint catch Davey on the chin or upper body it caught him on the side. IMO he shouldve done another move before getting the pin. Albright was well rested for the end of the 6 man. the heels mustve tagged 15 times before Brent got in the ring legally. Hero continues to mostly work with Pelle, must make him feel good to actually be able to throw someone around. Hero looks thinner with less muscle mass,Nigel too. sadly Edwards takes the loss. Hopefully with Davey coming in theyll team them up. as expected its the NWA title in the man sack. Im sure the NWA is happy for any publicity they get. does their title being on tv ever end well? thanks Shane Douglas. MOTN just for the superplex to end it was Roddy and Stevens. lots of chops and brawling outside the ring but surprisingly i got to see most of it. they gave it their all, again. after they introduce the NWA title beforehand I doubted the FIP champ was gonna join the Sweet and Sour Circus Hour. Davey had been teasing being interested for a little bit so no surprise but disappointing anyways. Rhett didnt say a three way date specifically, he said thet three of us could hang out together and possibly train.bring up Delirious being a trainer. his "thrust is a must" line from CT still has me laughing. i thought Nigel had a good match with Go. he worked over the arm and was in control for a majority of the match. Go got his shots in. the tag title match overcame the fact that Jacobs was in it and was pretty good. stil not much reaction for AOTF. they teased the early DQ but head referee in training Paul Turner knowing the importance of the match restarted it. lots of good action. Dragon and Black go back and forth for the last five minutes using their finishing moves arsenal. elbows, cattle mutilation, small package drivers etc. good back and forth action. fans chanted nect world champ at
Black. best ive seen of him, of course I think Roddy and countless others have heard that chant as well over the years. Jigsaw showed me something,Kingston showed me he hasnt been working out. it was like seeing a younger Sandman. hit the gym Eddie. Sabian and that useless white dude in Blackout were with Kingston. Jigsaw hung in there, Eddie is hard hitting but was gassed easily I didnt think Jigsaw had the offense to beat Kingston but he pulled it out. no Smokes, Ruckus didnt get physically involved but asked BO not to beat down Jigsaw all through the match. ME was the usual brawl everywhere. chairs, railings, metal roh signs, section D sign. Black and Jacobs come out followed by Mark Briscoe,he drives them away with one arm, left is still in a cast. Necro kicks Jay low like like three times does a move and pins him. i thought it was a real good show and after getting screwed in CT this easily made up for it.

Ring of Honor Notes & News from the weekend:

The NWA championship belt was revealed as the mysterious contents of Adam Pearce's briefcase. Obviously, the company came to terms with the NWA on using the belt since previously, ROH had been ignoring the existence of Pearce's reign. The belt will be defended in ROH. The 6/27 Dayton, Ohio main event will be ROH champ Nigel McGuinness vs. NWA champ Pearce in a title vs. title match.

The crowd in Philadelphia was down yesterday, the first time in some time Philadelphia has dropped. They return to the market on 9/20.

Davey Richards will be touring with Pro Wrestling NOAH and staying in Japan between tour this summer, so he's done here for awhile. My guess is Larry Sweeney will claim responsibility for sending him to Japan as a way of depriving ROH and their fans the chance to see Richards.

Eddie Kingston was only booked with the company for the two shots this weekend, but obviously that could change.

Julius Smokes missed his bookings this weekend and has not been in contact with ROH, so his status is up in the air right now.

The Title v Title scenario in Dayton could lead to something really interesting. Might be worth following.

It's great to see that the Osirian Portal received such a positive reaction from the fans. They are the best students to come out of Chikara in a few years.

It will be very interesting to see if Kingston receives more bookings with ROH. The guy has the skill, but tends to have a problem keeping his shit together.

S & S, Inc. has quite the stable now. Another interesting development.

If they keep BLK Out to Kingston, Sabian, Joker, and eventually Ruckus, it would work out well.

Kingston may not have the best look, but the guy can work. He's dropped some weight over the past year or so, so he's headed in the right direction.

Why was the snake disturbing at Chikara? He is playing the gimmick well!

So now, ROH says they will reconise the NWA title? I dont know why they didnt in the first place. The title has such great lineage and has been held by greats. ROH and NWA are both on a national and international level and they can share success.

Pearce vs Nigel, title for title? Could S&S Inc get a world title in its stable? id say it will be a DQ finish. Odd, both are heels and both guys are booed pretty heavily.

Why the hate for black out? They were GREAT at chikara king of trios.

Glad to see Titus get the trophy... he has the best gimmick running of the students.

ANOTHER person in S&S Inc? No one will be able to watch the matches now with them all out at ringside.

3 way date? sounds kinky....

Glad go chopped the shit out of nigel. From what I saw of Go, he could have a good match with a mop..... i wonder why they didnt gel?

Why end the show with 2 matches that arent really main events? With it being a PPV taping, they order may be due to what will go on the PPV and such.

Good to see the Age of the Fall get the win.... there is your "credible" win that the ROH fans were complaining about.

Not shocked at the low turnout.... a lot of the "usual" ROH fans skipped CT as i didnt see a lot of them and im sure a lot less people are taking the drive down.

The final journey or just the beginning?

12/5 - PGW in East Haven, CT
12/6 - NEW in Waterbury, CT
12/13 - JAPW in Rahway, NJ
12/14 - CHIKARA in Philadelphia, PA
12/26 & 27 - Final Battle Weekend (tent)

I don't know how I feel about Davey Richards joing the Black Hole of SnS incorporated. A tag team with Eddie Edwards might be cool, but that whole stable kind of blows imo. Just no direction and kind of a joke.

Black and Jacobs have a lot of work ahead of them if they are to be credible champs in my eyes. Seems to me that AoF has little direction either. I was kind of excited when they came in, but never made a big impact.

Is Nigel getting any reaction now? Crowd didn't really give a crap about him in Hartford, and I've been bored with him for, well, years.

Nigel gets alot more crap from the fans in NYC than any other place ive been. he had some fans in Philly. he worked well with the crowd last night. Kingston was very fat last night, there is almost no way he was heavier than that and wrestled previously. low turnout was 800-900 down from the 1200-1300 from the last Philly taping. itll be interesting to see how the NWA title is handled but bringing in another companies belt doesnt usually lead to good things although in sure the NWA could use the exposure Black looked good last night. Jacobs is a black hole of suck. the last two matches were not for the ppv.

I had some friends bring me to the Hartford and Philly show so I guess they popped my RoH cherry. Then I heard about this board so I figured I'd say hi.

Now all I have to do is watch the ridiculous amount DVDs to catch up on everything...

Not really, I don't really keep up with things anymore and it tends to unfold fairly straightforward..
