Did I mention that the all new "Mouthpiece Wrestling Show" with myself, Sheldon Goldberg & "The Manager of Champions" Sean Gorman debuts on Friday, July 11 at 5 PM on Boston's Sports Station, 1510 The Zone - an streaming live at www.1510thezone.com ?
Did I mention that our first week's guest is none other than TNA'a Director of Authority, the one and only, Jim Cornette?

Ghost, get the cork out of your ass and find a sense of humor. Kuro's comment wasn't bad at all...and I'm also sure that Sheldon got a chuckle out of it. |

I'm pretty sure Sheldon took the joke in stride, Ghost. He must have a sense of humor...he booked me for years. |

Unless there are no other Boston-area Hammer posters, this is definitely the most overlooked news in quite some time. I think this show could bring in a lot of new fans to professional wrestling, and might encourage more people to attend indie events in the area.
Sheldon, thanks for mentioning that 1510 streams on their web site. It was something that I've been too lazy to check into, but something I had hoped for.
Don't hesitate to post on Friday afternoons to remind people.
Can you give us any clue as to the format you guys are planning? |

This is a great idea to have a pro wrestling talk show on a sports-formatted radio station. However, 1510 The Zone has terrible ratings and has for years, thus not many people are listening to the station (I suspect that's one reason why the Celtics left WWZN and went to WEEI). I would be surprised that anyone that isn't a radio geek even knows the station is still on the air, let alone doing a sports format. Hopefully, this talk show will boost their "afternoon drive" numbers on Fridays. I wish Sheldon and Sean the best of luck. |

You have to start somewhere. Those lower ratings than WEEI is probably the very reason The Zone considered a pro wrestling show. So I say spread the word! |

Yes you did. Then you wrote about it under your other name. "What a coup." |

Sheldon, I notice the link on the Zone's site takes you to your section on the Mouthpiece Boxing site: http://www.mouthpieceboxing.com/mpb_wrestling/

Joshua, good question. Anthony Pepe, who is also the GM of the station, does the Mouthpiece Boxing Show and his pitch to us was to do a Mouthpiece Wrestling Show and for there to eventually be a Mouthpiece MMA Show that could be packaged altogether as a block and syndicated.
ShawnO mentioned the station's signal. WWZN is a 50,000 Watt AM station and their signal pattern is one where a fair portion goes out to sea. Their signal is weaker at night, but we're not going to on at night, so that's not a concern. You really can't pick them up past Worcester to the west, Providence to the south and Manchester, NH or so to the north. However, that area is very substantial.
The Zone has tried to establish itself as a station for niche sports programming. They have a boxing show. They broadcast NASCAR. They do college sports. They have comedian Steve Sweeney on in the morning. They are a Sporting News affilliate. If you are into sports talk, there's a lot of good programming on the station. We hope to add to that. |
