Since Joey Eastman had to go & spoil the winner of the tournament, and thus make the full results less suspenseful, I now have to make my commentary more ridiculous than usual*. Don't blame me, blame Joey. What a Jerf. Yes, jerf.

Alternate Endurance "Not Quite a Royal Rumble" Battle Royal

Rules are simple here. 2 men start, a new one enters every 90 seconds. There are 6 entrants total. Eliminations happen by pinfall, submission, or getting tossed over the top rop.

Dan Thunders & "Duke of Elegance" Don Chesterfield start things off

Scott Reed enters

"Tough Talk" Tony "I GIVE MEN LAP DANCES" Spencer enters

DJ Baron enters

Sledge aka "I EAT BABIES FOR BREAKFAST" enters

So yeah, no eliminations until everyone entered.

According to Jen (who was not dying from laughter because of Dave Padula), the order of elimiation was

DJ Baron pinned by Duke with an elegant pull of the tights.

Tony Spencer was ejected over th top rope like a rag doll

Scotty Reed tapped to DUKE!

Duke got punked out and was thrown over the top rope by Sledge.

BOOOO!
BOOOOOO!!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

This leaves Sledge & Thunders. No challenge here, as Sledge makes Thunders feel his pain & gets the win via a quick pin with the help of his hideous face paint & moral support from eveyone's BFF, Master Flesh.

With Duke out, I had 30% less interest in the rest of the event.

Ultimate Endurance now begins

First Round Match #1

Dr. Reginald Heresy defeats "Struttin, Svelt, & Stylin" Sonny Goodspeed w/ DJ Baron

Lots of goofiness here (shocking, I know).

This was a good, fun way to start off the actual tournament. Lots of pre-match banter between the two. Apparently, Sonny thought Doc was his proctologist.

Doc hits the Novacaine to get the pin

On a serious note, Sonny has dropped a good amount of weight, & he looks awesome. Keep it up Sonny!

First Round Match #2

Tarzan "High Waters" Taylor w/ Jane Romero defeats Granite State Champion "Heart Attack" Tommy Mack.

Spectro had new pants taylored specifically for very rainy days.

Lots of near falls, with many attempts by Jane to insert himself into the match. Spectro wins with a Wheelbarrow SPIIIIINEBUUUUUSTAHHHH!

The GST was on the line here, so Spectro is the first man to hold the new, and BADASS belt. It has the Old Man of the Mountain on it. 4SRS. If you don't like that, fuck off.

First Round Match # 3

Vampire Sethoran w/ Vanity Vixxxen v Sledge w/ Maverick Wild

Sledge high fived Mav so hard, his hand landed in the second row. Not even an hour into the show, & we have our first casualty. I say first, because there are more to come.

Match was tight as hell, which was to be expected. Sledge is a big effing dude. Sethoran is awesome, but not so big.

Seth hit a Glimmering Warlock, which was sooooo awesome.

Seth gets the win with the rarely seen Large Package. There is nothing small about Sledge. That we know of, anyway.

After the match, Mav & Sledge beat on Seth and ram him shoulder first into the ring post. OUCH!!

First Round Match # 4

Panther Martin defeats Alex "Feta Cheese is Italian" Arion.

Forarm, Forarm, Forarm, Punch, Punch, Kick, Kick

DROPKICK TO PANTHERS HEAD?!?! ALEX CAN JUMP THAT HIGH?

Forarm, Forarm, Kick, Kick...

Panther Martin wins by catching Alex w/ the Blackhole Slam.

Intermission

This featured a performance by Spinal Tap, er , I mean Sustainer.

Apparently their drummer blew up before the show, and their bassist got stuck in a pod at the previous show, so we had crazy dueling guitars. Mariott turned it up to 11.

Best intermission ever.

Tough Talk with Tony "Adult Under Garments" Spencer

Since the Drunken Master of the Dover Legends was not in attendance, Tony decided to interview Steve “Vai” Marriott instead.

Tony explained to the crowd that he has been taking courses at the Joseph Eastman Technical Institute and learned that his failings as a wrestler were out fault & not his. There is no way that this school is accredited. 4SRS.

Tony tried to belittle Marriott in several ways, only to have Marriott prove him wrong on every point. Tony needs to find a new school.

FRW Security Guy then grabbed Marriott from behind (no wonder Drunken Master gets away with so much. He’s a heel!) while Tony then went for a head shot with an acoustic guitar. Of course, Marriott saw this coming a mile away. He is a guitar hero, after all. FRW Security Guy took the shot to the head in the end.

Tony throws a temper tantrum and drags FRW Security Guy to the back. Marriott gets a round of applause.

Mixed Tag Action

Master "Even the Living Dead Can Get a Tan" Flesh, Maverick Wild, & the debuting "Synful" Sarah Blackheart/Blackmore/Blacksomething w/ Sledge defeat Justin Shaype, Tony "I got knocked the fuck out" Star, and Vanity "Funbags" Vixxxen.

Sarah looked pretty good in the ring for her first match. She needs work on the character more, and do what heels do. If all else fails, get out of the ring and pucnh a child or the elderly. That always works.

At one point, Tony went for the "hot tag". Mav would have none of that, and went to stop him. He stopped him by murdering him in the face with his shin Muay Thai style & knocking him out. Everyone in the ring, and the more learned members of the crowd, went dead silent. Justin jumped in, and Vanity helped Tony get to the floor.

Tony was on the floor for a few minutes, but came to & got back in the match. I'm impressed.

Vanity & Sarah started catfighting while Tony was on the floor, and this of course got Justin & Mav all excited. This made its way to the floor, and they even answered Padula's request to "bring it over here", which they did.

Vanity kept putting Sarah's face in her ample chest. The pee wee football team were made into men this night.

Mav attempted to interject himself into the girl on girl activities, only to get kicked in his flaming crotch by Vanity. Vanity then drug Sarah out back. After putiing Sarah's face in her boobs that often, it makes you wonder why, and who took pictures(Mike Jas was there, after all)

Fleshy Pooh, Mav, & Sarah get the win when Flesh pinned Tony.

Ultimate Endurance II, Secret of the Ooze.

Ultimate Endurance starts with Panther “My Favorite” Martin w/ his new life coach Tony Spencer & Tarzan w/ Jane. These two kill each other, and Martin gets the pin.

Enter the Vampire!

Panther works over the shoulder that got jacked up by Sledge & Mav, only to have Seth get the pin. Panther needs to find a new life coach.

The final entrant is Dr. Reginald Heresy, OOOOH YEAAAH!

Superstar ML said that he wanted to see a claw hold, because nobody escapes the claw. That is so full of win.

Doc gets the quick upper hand by teasing heart punches but instead attacking Seth’s injured arm while he had him in the corner. I wish they were heart punches. They rule.

While in the corner, the ref tries to separate them, but gets the dreaded ref bump! Doc, ever opportunist, goes to the sound table & grabs the bell.

He winds up like Big Pappi, but decides that he can beat Seth without using the bell. He was very wrong, and gets pinned..

Your 2008 Ultimate Endurer, and #1 contender to the All Star Championship, is Vampire Sethoran!

After the match, Doc manned up and shook Seth’s hand & raised it in victory. What a guy!

All Star Championship Submission Extravaganza

All Star Champion Shane Sharpe gets the upset submission victory over “Bad Karma” Christian Angers in an awesome match.

Why is this an upset? Easy. Angers is considered one of the best submission wrestlers in New England. While Shane has definitely come into his own over the past year, he has been known more as a catch as catch can type wrestler. This win not only solidifies his title reign, but also shows that he’s only beginning to show his opponents & fans what he is capable of.

Actually, the match with the least heat overall seemed to be Arion v Panther. not being an ass, but the crowd was dead during the match.

And what is everyone's obsession with attendance? There were at least 100 in attendance.

The best match was Angers vs Sharpe. I'm a sucker for submission, so I loved this.

The best reaction was the cat fight between Vanity & Sarah. The pee wee football team ate it up.

To add a few notes.....

I overheard someone asking Steve Marriott if the show was a sell out, his response was golden...."It's never a sell out at an independent show...we just bring out more chairs."
Which he did......twice.

During the Six-person tag Mav's shin kick was indeed devestating...my initial reaction was...holy fuck! How is he conscious...simple...he wasn't. It did get eerily quiet after the blow.
Another highlight of the match was during the catfight when all the action in the ring stopped and Mav squealed...."this is hot!"....."this is hot!"...."this is so (adjective) hot!" I can't recall the word.

Also during this match up that Sledge informed me "You are very fat" I replied "Thank you...I've worked hard at it." He replied "It shows." It was at this time that I became very angry....with myself. I should have said, "That's because I eat food high in fat and calories, while leading a sedentary lifestyle."

As far as the Ultimate Endurance final goes, if the Good Doctor would have used the Arm bar the second he entered the ring, he would have scored a submission victory as Sethoran's shoulder was in bad shape.

The submission match could have lasted another 20 minutes and I would have been happy...it was a tremendous match up. I would love to see these two go an hour....it would be something.

Also it was during this match I demanded the Iron Claw. "I would like to see the Iron Claw...not only is it a submission, but no one escapes the Iron Claw!" It's true!

I like the new Granite State Championship....I guess they are going to keep that name for the title after all.

Also the guy in the Yankees jersey in the picture below annoyed me. I'm ok with being an excited fan...but at the beginning and end of every match this douche took it upon himself to stand in the middle of the aisle to the ring, blocking the wrestlers way to and from the ring.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/shstrng/2684812476/sizes/m/in/set-72157606272393722/

that's all from me...I look forward to my next adventure to an FRW show

-I really got him with all calf. It was the "perfect storm", so to speak. I could never get that lucky of a shot in a real fight. I went to cut him off from the tag, because I thought things were just starting to get hot and didn't want him out just yet. He didn't hear or see me coming, and lunged in just as I was running and kicking and his jaw and head ATE my calf. It sounded like a deer running into a car door. I felt like a complete ass...still do. All my own fault. I work rough and I've left some people bruised up, but I never knocked anyone out in 19 years.

-If I swore, I'm pretty sure it was PG 13. In fact, I remember the worst thing I said all night was calling Vanity Vixen a "bitch" at ringside.

Thoughts an' such...

Good crowd for Rochester. Many furry pink hats were sold.

The Duke was robbed in the opening match. He has classy new ring gear. Thumbs up there. Sledge is a mighty big and angry boy, but the Duke was the star here, causing two of the five eliminations all by his lonesome. FRW needs more Don Chesterfield whenever possible.

Sonny looks great. He's lost a good bit of weight and he's more mobile for it. Doc Heresy will never win a dance-off. Not even against a one-legged person.

The Mack-Spectro match was the popcorn match, literally. Spectro pelted Tommy with a liberal handful of extra-fake-buttered popcorn from a pee-wee football player's paper bag. Those unpopped kernels probably hurt and were likely Mack's undoing. Matty's pants were a little less dreadful than his normal beat-to-hell green tights, but were still awful. The baby blue leg was shorter than the silver leg, and both legs were too short to begin with. The Granite State champion needs better pants. George, get to work on that for your boy.

Seth took a pounding from Sledge. I hope there was plenty of ice backstage for his shoulder. Sledge's facepaint looks goofy. It looked like he was going for the Road Warrior Hawk look, but failed miserably. Mav's trunks are nearly as goofy as Sledge's facepaint.

Alex Arion says feta cheese is Italian. He is mistaken. Those people who thought he would defeat Panther Martin were also mistaken. There was a lot of striking in this match; Panther struck harder, walloped Arion with the Black Hole Slam, and pinned him easily.

Stevie Marriott shreds. He was channeling George Lynch last night. It was excellent. I approve.

Tony Spencer's "Tough Talk" segment backfired horribly for him. Instead of "enlightening" Marriott on the error of his managerial/wrestling/musician ways, he ended up on the wrong side of Marriott's fist and his crony (the security guy) got brained by an acoustic guitar. Perhaps Tony should take his own advice to concentrate on one thing and improve his wrestling rather than his life-coaching to score that all-important first singles win.

The six-person match was off-the-wall, as expected. I love the "Good Guy" character. Vanity continues to improve (her wrestling as well as her costuming choices...no chance of losing her top in this outfit). Sara Blackmore carried herself well in her first match and looked every bit Flesh's protege. Mav took a nasty kick in an unfortunate place late in the match that removed him from the action. Perhaps payback for the shin to Tony Star's face? In any case, Fleshie-poo took care of the in-ring work and preserved the tag titles for the PoP. It's going to take some serious effort to take the belts from Mav and Flesh...

Ah, Ultimate Endurance. Panther and Spectro pounded the snot out of each other. A pity the Granite State title wasn't on the line for this match. Maybe Panther earned a shot in Claremont? Seth came out with his shoulder bandaged up. The bandage didn't last long. Seth's a crafty guy, though, and can take a whipping. He surprised the big guy just long enough to take him out. Heresy took advantage of Seth's sore shoulder and had him dead to rights for a head shot with the bell, but apparently Doc has a conscience, and it got the better of him. He put the bell down, and Seth rolled him up for the victory. He then gave Seth his due and grudgingly raised his hand. Somebody should give Doc a cookie for doing the right thing, or at least some crab rangoons from the China Palace.

The submissions match was lovely stuff for wrestling purists. Holds and counters galore here. I honestly thought Shane Sharpe would be overmatched in this situation, not being known for his submissions, but he kept up with Angers and then some. Christian took a good bit of abuse to his upper back and shoulders, and submitted to a vicious little stretch that pinned both arms behind him while pushing his neck forward. Sharpe has really come into his own this past year. The upcoming match with him and Seth should be a fine one.

UE2 was marvelous fun. I enjoyed seeing some Hammerites and the ever-amusing Dover Legends. FRW returns to Claremont's Zotto Gymnasium on Saturday, August 9th.

Less drama, more wrestling, please.

A couple of things I would like to add

- Dave Padula and/or Superstar ML need to be at every show. They made a great show even better for me. Seriously, those guys are a fucking riot.

For those who are familiar with the atmosphere at YLC last month, it was very similar.

-Mav must have calves of steel.

-The following quote is the greatest thing ever posted on this board

That was a calf shot!! DAMN!!
Also, it wasn't a curse word, it was just a very good adjective that I honestly can't recall. It made me laugh raucously.
