Tonight at the Smackdown tapings for the show that will air Friday there was a battle royal to determine who will challenge HHH for the WWE title at Summerslam. The battle royal was won by Great Khali so at Summerslam it will be HHH vs Khali.

I'm sure all the brain dead nerds are drooling at the prospect of Khali killing Trips by accident.

Me and Joey Eastman usually see eye to eye on most things. This is an exception.

I do see a problem putting him in a main event. There is a certain expectation for the quality and match length in a main event. Kahli is impressive to watch over 2-10 minutes depending on who he's in with. Going beyond that though...HHH is going to have his workin' boots on.

In my opinion a heavyweight or world title match should go at least 20 minutes or better. Unless he's facing mid-card or a jobber, the champ should not be able to put away his top contender so handily...IE Hogan's first WWF run.

Admittedly I was a Hogan fan as a kid until Saturday Night's Main Event in January 1987. The famous cage match between Hogan and Orndorff. The match where they both hit the floor at the same time. Once it was decided that the match would be restarted, Hogan was begging not to be thrown back into the cage....At 8 years old I asked my dad why hogan was acting that way...he told me because he didn't want to get back in the ring. I couldn't figure out why Hogan was being a man and getting back in there to settle it. He was the good guy, the hero. Hero's are supposed to be brave. That day cemented by allegiance to Ric Flair, he was a bad guy, he can get away with begging off.

You could still take into consideration (not that I would suggest all of them but from a "main event" point of view) -

Big Show
Jeff Hardy
Umaga
Kennedy
MVP (in another few months)

So much flesh...so little time.

Nobody said he would beat Trips. Umaga could still challenee for the belt. And say what you will about Umaga being "destroyed", he always bounces back for more.

Hey, Jeff had some great matches with HHH earlier this year so I wouldn't totally count him out. I think Edge is the best competition for HHH's belt, but looks like that's not happening any time soon.

Jeff also keeps getting suspended each time he gets a push.

Well, let's hope he learned his lesson this time.

Well, let's hope he learned his lesson this time.

Seeing how he clearly didn't learn it the first time, I doubt he learned the second time.
