Several independent promoters have been told today by representatives of Ric Flair that Flair has parted company with WWE and will be available for independent bookings. The public portrayal is that it was an amicable parting of the ways related to WWE not allowing Flair to take offers that he was wanting to accept.

Thanks to WrestlingFigs.com for the following information:

Following his departure from the company earlier today, Ric Flair released the following statement:

"WWE and I parted on the best of terms. This gives me the chance to pursue new opportunities...corporate speaking engagements, product sponsorships, autograph shows for my loyal fans (who made me what I am today) and film and television roles. My agent and I are very excited about what the future holds!"

Wrestling promoters interesting in booking Flair should contact his agent, Elaine Gillespie. She also coordinates bookings for "Rowdy" Roddy Piper as well as SmackDown announcer Mick Foley. Here is her contact information and e-mail address for promoters interesting in booking the one and only Ric Flair.

I'm pretty sure Flair has to be pretty well off to agree to leave, and it now works out as a plus to the fans as well. He has stated that part of the reason he left is that he wanted to be able to do Independent appearances. I just wonder, who will be the first to book him in New England.

Awaiting the return of Dragon Dragon to Chikara.... Just because.

I think this is a mistake on Flair's part. He or outside forces are going to ruin his reputation that WWE had been doing a fine job trying to elevate.

Think we could see Ric in TNA and Ric vs Sting one more time...

In the eyes of a ranger,
The unsuspecting stranger,
Had better know the truth of wrong from right,
'Cause the eyes of a ranger are upon you,
Any wrong you do, he's gonna see,
When you're in Texas, look behind you,
'Cause that's where the rangers gonna be.

It'd have to be either BTW or NEW, I don't see anyone else being able to afford him.

ROH can afford him. If they can fly guys in from japan almost monthly, i think flair would be affordable.

I would like to think NEW would be the promotion to get him, though....

and whats wrong with flair vs sting one more time GG? It wont be a "5 Star Classic" but, it will certainly be something to see.

I hope he stays retired from wrestling.

To see him booked to face Xavier or Mr. TA would be a disgrace.
