If I remember correctly WWE did it with Shawn Micahels and Steve Austin in 1997 and I am sure there have been other instances of this as well.

OK i know they wanna hype SUmmerslam and they feel having Cena and Batista go into Summerslam as tag champions adds more interest to their match. That's all good and well, it just sucks that it had to be at the expense of Rhodes and Dibiase who I think would have beenfited from a win here and t hey have looked really good as a team.

This is a more valid complaint regarding the tag-team titles right now than the one a couple posts above yours.

The asses they put in seats are people that would sit down for most anything the WWE puts out, so why not put out something good to impress the smarter ones? Batista as a gimmick has very little personality and the "I AM AN INTENSE AND SUPER JACKED ANIMAL WHO SPEARS PEOPLE" gimmick is just so dull to those with more IQ points than beer coupons.

Batista can be good if WWE lets him do more than the familiar and lets him get a little charm in rather than keep being just a tough guy who looks so tense and serious most of the time, he could fire shit out his ass like a sniper rifle. He's at his best when he can crack up and goof off just a bit.

Cena?...I don't know... I never really liked him and always thought he was awkward looking.

Wrestling never was meant to cater to those with an IQ over five.

I was just told they won. Hopefully, they'll vacate em, or lose em back to the young team. Cena is still dull as dirt, and this is too much like the past, when the oddball tag champs, ala Shawn and Austin, etc. co exist to hold the title.
