Add ECW star Big Daddy V to the list of WWE superstars released this afternoon. The former King of the Ring hasn't been on television since March due to a health issue. He was moved to SmackDown at the 2008 WWE Draft.

There were reports before WrestleMania 24 that Big Daddy V was out of action due to a bad case of pneumonia, which led WWE to ask him to drop some weight before returning.

WWE.com has yet to post a statement, but in addition to Shannon Moore, we can confirm the release of the four following talents:

-- Domino

-- Nunzio

-- James Curtis

-- referee Nick Patrick

They're may be some additional firings, so stay tuned.

James Curtis was signed? I thought he was just a fill in jobber?

Nunzio is another shock, he was a household jobber who they seemed to want around for, well, jobbing.

Big Daddy V? That gimmick RULED... why are they killing it!?! I vote to have him and Awesome Kong tag team in TNA.

My guess on Big Daddy V is they haven't been using him because they told him he needs to take off some weight. My guess is that hasn't happened and the decision was made to let him go.

Awsome Kong and Big Daddy V would be funny and no way I wish they didn't add Shannon Moore he's great IMO. I liked him better in TNA though so hopefully he will return to it.

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of ECW Superstar Braden Walker as of Aug. 7, 2008, and the release of ECW Superstars Nunzio and James Curtis, SmackDown Superstars Shannon Moore, Domino, and Big Daddy V, and WWE referee Nick Patrick as of Aug. 8, 2008.

i really liked big daddy v and he was very loyal to wwe working for them for 15 years. Sad to see him go.

Actually in this weeks wrestling observer newsletter it states that WWE management chose to let Big Daddy V go because he had not lost weight or the amount of weight that they felt he needed to lose to stay healthy
