I think this is a good move for the Jets. A 39 year old Favre is better than what the Jets had. Now, Clemens will be able to mentor w Favre, and IMO, it makes the Jets better. Probably not good enough to overtake the Pats, but maybe to "shake em up" a bit, and certainly to make a run for the Wild Card.

Plus, from the Packers standpoint, this burninghammerish drama is over, and they can let Aaron Rodgers play in peace now. Also, no Favre within the same division as the Pack too.

I think Brett could get the Jets an extra 2-3 wins at least over what they would have had. Of course, if t hey do well, will he "choke in the big one" again, like he did vs the Giants? Only time will tell.

I was hoping the bucs would get him... stay 2 years, teach there young rookies and get back to the super bowl. Brett would of been a great fit there. Instead, he is on a team with a rookie front line who will just demolish Brett in year 1.

There is a jets fan on here, maybe "chrisfromct" who will now have a legit chance of having a winning team, atleast.

How you figure?
The Jets spent a lot of money on Damien Woody,Calvin Pace, and Alan Faneca.
Another year of Nick Mangold, and D'Brickashaw Ferguson.
Im just hoping the Brett Favre doesnt get the "Madden curse"

If I never hear the name "Brett Favre" again, after the last month of oversaturation, it will still be too soon.

Less drama, more wrestling, please.

Jets are planning for the short term, but at least they're trying to do something i hope the Pats tear him apart on Sept. 14th

FlairFanatic if you're going to talk about stuff (like the Jets' O-Line), please try to know what you're talking about- i knew they signed Damien Woody and Alan Faneca etc, (and i'm not a Jets fan)- otherwise you sound like an idiot

Yeah, the Jets did address those issues, the OL. They SHOULD be a lot better, but still not division contenders, IMO. I think its a good move by Jets, release Chad, have Clemens back up and learn.

GG, do you have any insight into the receiving capabilities of the Jets' tight ends?

Actually Randall, tho I enjoy football a lot, I don't follow the teams as close as I do in baseball. The Jets have a decent receiver corps, and backs, and now, they have a better Offensive Line, and a HOF QB, albeit on the downside of his career some.

I think the Jets could be a 9-7 team, but playing w Buffalo and especially the patriots, you can't expect them to be a lot better than that, record wise, at least its not too likely.

Any discussion of women would go over your head.
