According to WWE.com Stevie Richards, Robbie and Rory of The Highlanders, Colin Delaney, Smackdown Diva Cherry and referee Wes Adams have all been released from their WWE contracts. They were wished well in their future endeavors.

I'm suprised about Cherry with the new Diva's title on Smackdown you'd think they would want a good women's wrestler.

The Highlanders is no suprise, and I'm not familiar with the Ref.

Colin Delaney is odd as he has been featured regularly on ECW and Stevie Richards is a good hand.

Don't care about the others but losing Stevie and Delaney sucks. Delaney was fun to watch on ECW and Richards is probably the most underrated wrestling in pro wrestling today.

This just means Colin can come back to CHIKARA & NWA-Upstate. That's a big plus, honestly.

Steveie Richards is so good, but they haven't had a clue what to do with him over the past few years. I can see him getting a lot of bookings or maybe even going to TNA.

I'd be glad to see Colin in Chikara again. Maybe then Jimmy will stop looking for him under everyone's mask. Stevie...he is silly-crazy good, which is why I will plead to the wrestling gods that he doesn't go to TNA, where they will waste him even more than Vince did. He will have no trouble getting bookings on the indy scene or in Japan or Europe, where he will be appreciated.

Less drama, more wrestling, please.

...yet poorly paid.

Glory is fleeting and addictive. Unlike me, he's not a weekend warrior who makes his money elsewhere and gets to treat wrestling like it's one big art project. Despite how they may use him, he's going to make better, more consistent paychecks working for TNA...so I hope that's where he lands.

Can we maybe hope he hits the lottery & get to work whever he wants?

Or at least ends up in ROH, with Japan & Europe on the side?

Good ruck with that.

He still owe me $400 from bar tab in 2003.

When has WWE been interested in good women's wrestling in the last decade?

Trish Stratus vs Lita for the Women's Championship was a main event on Raw less than 5 years ago, and is still talked about.

Even if it was a step up from the typical "catfight with a couple very basic wrestling moves thrown in," it's by no means "good women's wrestling."

Oh well. WWE wont fall apart without them. At least they had a taste, and for some a full meal, of life in Vinnieville USA.

Actually, WWE has consistently been putting on solid womens wrestling matches the last several months.

I know they've had several Diva's contests that the fans vote on..however except for the gimmick Olympic Costume match, when was the last time you saw:
Bra & Panties match
Pillow Fight
Mud bowl match
or other ridiculous gimmick they were running a few years back every week.

No but it's the foundation of wrestling. Even if they've toned it down, WWE has made it obvious that their female performers are mostly there as eye-candy and not to showcase much in-ring ability, at least not on a consistent basis.

Granted, I haven't seen many Smackdown-brand women's match in the last few years (no CW affiliates on my Dish Network package and no My Network TV ones either) so I don't know how their wrestling scene looks, although the one match I have seen, the inaugural Diva's title match, made it look hopeful until it ended with the typical "magic move" ending that WWE uses way too much. But that's another gripe with WWE. Back on topic.

I know that RAW's Women's division is a joke. Beth is a pretty good wrestler when WWE doesn't have her squash everyone, Mickie is okay, but that's pretty much all they have right now. WWE has taken a couple steps in the right direction but they're baby steps. Thankfully, as superstarml pointed out, they haven't had the gimmicky matches recently.

We all know WWE treats women as eye candy before treating them as wrestlers. The majority of the ladies signed have no wrestling experience going in. It's nice seeing GOOD lady talent in the WWE, but they're spread thin amongst the other ladies. Granted Candice, Maria and a few others have really grown inside of the ring others still are sloppy. This is why I watch TNA for women's wrestling on TV. Although I would like to be able to see more of Natalya Neidhart.

Bob the Builder for President in 2012. "Can we fix it? Yes we can!"

- I would just like to note that I'm appalled at the Wes Adams WWE firing. The finish of the ECW match on Tuesday was 100 percent Miz's fault as he was supposed to break up the pinfall and forgot. By the time Morrison figured out Miz wasn't there, it was too late. Adams was in a no-win situation, as he either had to count the pin because Morrison didn't kick out or he had to hold up his count and bring the match to a screeching halt. Personally I think he made the right decision as someone who was always told that as a referee you should officiate as if it's a shoot, and if someone doesn't get their shoulder up, too bad. In fact, that's been the WWE directive for ages.
