Well, I cant totally make predictions, because the White Sox play Detroit, and then may have to play Minnesota..haha. to decide the last AL Spot, but I'll do it both ways, w either of them getting in. If you are a betting man, you may wanna ..well. Im gonna be ACCURATE this year. Smile

First round, best of five:

AL:

Tampa Bay over Minnesota in 4 or Chicago in 5. I think the Rays have to be careful, especially with the White Sox, if they play them. Rays havent played well at the end, tho they had a playoff spot clinched. First year in playoffs, there'll be some nerves, but I think their starting pitching will carry them to a win in either series.

Angels over Red Sox in Five. This one..hmm. I think the Angels will finally get by the Red Sox, This one could be one of those " the hometown wins" series. With that in mind, I think the Angels are a bit better in the pitching department, esp the bullpen, and they have enough offense to get them to a win in a very hard five game series.

NL:

Phillies over Brewers in Four. Sabbathia won't be able to pitch again, till at least game two, probably game three. Sheets is shot, and theres a lot of pressure on Suppan. I think the Brewers had to go all out, as you know, and may be a bit outta gas. The Phillies are playing very well, and I think will take it in four.

Cubs over Dodgers in Five, Tho I would think the Cubs will take the series fairly easily on paper, there are some interesting issues here. Manny, Nomar, Lowe, plus Torre will make the Dodgers give it a really good shot. Plus, Zambrano has been shaky at best for the Cubs, and may have a hard time. I think the Dodgers will steal one at Wrigley, the Cubs the same in LA, and the Cubs will win a home decider. Should be the better of the 2 NL series.

In case Im wrong on any of the above Smile , I'll make my Pennant predictions after the first round is over..haha.

I hope your predictions hold true to their past ratio of success.

The Sox are sure to win in that case.

Before the final out, you develop a new strain of the sniffles that kills you in 5 seconds. Red Sox rally to win the game and then the series as the Devil shoves a red hot poker up your ass while branding the Red Sox "B" on each testicle.

hey, it could happen.

Rays over Twins in 5
Red Sox over Angels in 5

Dodgers over Cubs in 5
Phillies ove Brewers in 4

Red Sox over Rays in 6
Dodgers over Phillies in 6

Dodgers over Red Sox when Manny hits a walkoff in game 7 at Fenway Park.

I hate to admit but The Red Sox own the Angels in the post season thus making them the best team in the AL. Rays never been in the playoffs and I still dont think the Twins are that good.

Brewers rotation is a mess but im sure Sabathia will win one.
Manny has been on fire since he was traded and now that he is "really playing" he could be a force in the playoffs.

Good logic for the most part Chris, But, the "bold highlight" above, umm. how can it be a walk off if the Red Sox are home? Smile

You know what I mean, Paplebomb will come in to try and save the game and Manny will hit a 2-run bomb over the monster. Manny will then trot around first with his dreads flapping in the wind. He will head to second and continue on into left feild to cut off a ball being thrown back by a Fenway faithful. Then Manny will head to the scoreboard to use the bathroom. He takes about 10 minutes and runs to third where he stops and signs the base. He heads home and does a head first slide. He will be named MVP where he will constantly proclaim his love for America.

hahahahahha. Thats HILARIOUS Chris, and if Manny did ever hit that HR, I wouldn't be shocked if he behaved that way. Im glad he eventually touched homeplate though. While reading your scenario, I wasn't sure that he would. Smile

All that matters is that the Yankees are not playing and the Mets have caught the choking disease from the Yankees.

Q: What has 400 feet and 3 teeth?
A: The first row of the bleachers at Yankee Stadium.

Yes sir. Nice win for em last night too.

Also, solid wins for Philadelphia (didnt surprise me). MUST today for Brewers IMO. Red sox w a good win over the Angels. That one suprised me a bit, and the Angels have to get Friday nights win, or its gonna be ova.

Todays schedule: White Sox at Rays 2pm . Brewers at Phils 530pm. Dodgers at Cubbies 9pm

Also, Lat, I see you finally got "all you could" out of Voltures picture. Everything runs out at some point..hehe. Smile

The Cubs/Dodgers game will be fascinating tonight. Can the Cubs even it up w Crazy Carlos? The fans are so tight/wound up, more than the players. Can Papa Joe lead his Dodgers on to another win, and move the Cubbies one step closer to continuing a hundred years of futility, or can Sweet Lou and the Cubs get the huge win they MUST have. To me, a must watch game if you are into baseball.

Biden vs Palin is much more exciting.

Could there be 2 more meaningless states than Delaware and Alaska?

I mean besides RI and NH, oh course?
