from ROHwrestling.com:

August 16th: ROH officials held a special meeting over the weekend that included a conference call with Bryan Danielson and Austin Aries. It was decided that a third bout between the two will be held later in the year after the DVDs of their first two matches are released and in circulation. Everyone agreed that it would be best for fans to be familiar with the first two classics before doing the third bout. Danielson is still slated to receive a shot at World Champion Samoa Joe. Aries also started petitioning for a World Title shot.

August 16th: ROH officials have received numerous emails from fans who are concerned of the dangers of Scramble Cage Melee on August 28th in Braintree, MA at the National Guard Armory. ROH officials have decided to put Scramble Cage Melee on last so any fans not wanting to see this kind of action can leave. The dangerous nature of this match has made it difficult for ROH to find participants. However, Dunn & Marcos have entered themselves in an effort to blow people away and get off the ring crew. Could we see a stagedive off the platforms? The winner of Scramble Cage Melee will receive ten times their usual payday.

August 16th: Six Man Mayhem has been signed for "Glory By Honor III" in Elizabeth, NJ. Trent Acid is the first man signed to this bout. Acid claims he is king of the multi-person match and backed up his words by winning Four Corner Survival and Six Man Mayhem bouts on "Death Before Dishonor" weekend.

August 16th: Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat has stated that when he returns to ROH during October in Philly, Dayton and Chicago that he will be focused squarely on Generation Next.

August 16th: Add Prince Nana and The Embassy to the latest group to call out Mick Foley, who is set to debut in ROH on September 11th in Elizabeth, NJ at the RexPlex. So far Alex Shelley, Allison Danger and Prince Nana have all made mention of Foley. It is still unknown exactly why Foley is headed to ROH.

August 16th: Remember to check the Newswire Archives section to catch past Newswires including one from a couple of days ago with preliminary talent lists for Philly, Dayton and Chi-Town.

August 16th: Jim Cornette has sent word that Jay & Mark Briscoe better not interfere with the reunion of The Midnight Express on October 2nd in Philadelphia. There is no telling how the Briscoes will react to Cornette or how Cornette will react to the Briscoes since they haven't been in the same building since the Briscoes fired Cornette as their manager.

August 17th: ROH World Champion Samoa Joe has been added by "Glory By Honor III" on September 11th in Elizabeth, NJ. Joe has stolen the show at the first two "Glory By Honor" events with the legendary match vs. Low Ki on 10/5/02 and the thrilling successful World Title defense over Christopher Daniels on 9/20/03. Joe insists he wants the toughest challenger possible for this year's event. Joe's challenger on 9/11 will be named on 8/29, the day after the Boston area event.

August 17th: The new Contender's Ring consists of: Austin Aries, Bryan Danielson, John Walters, Alex Shelley and Jay Briscoe. ROH officials are working on getting the votes in quicker so the Contender's Ring can be released in a more timely fashion and with details on why each man is in it.

August 17th: Nigel McGuiness is about to become a regular with ROH. McGuiness has been off and on shows for a year and has definitely impressed. Now ROH officials are going to give McGuiness the chance to breakthrough as a top player. McGuiness has been added to the 10/2 Philly, 10/15 Dayton and 10/16 Chicago events.

August 17th: Mick Foley called the ROH offices yesterday concerned over various talents on the ROH roster calling him out. Foley insists he will not let anyone make their name at his expense when he makes his ROH debut on 9/11 outside of NYC. We will continue to follow this situation in the Newswire.

August 17th: "World Title Classic" DVD will be back in stock and on sale by next week's show.

August 17th: Don't forget to check out the Ring of Honor Ebay auctions for this week. This includes clearance T-Shirts starting at $4.95 each, ROH tickets, DVD's, and more. Just click the Ebay link on the left side of the screen to go directly to our auctions.

heres more:

August 18th: Homicide vs. Mark Briscoe has been signed for "Glory By Honor III" on 9/11 in Elizabeth, NJ!!! Last time in Elizabeth at the RexPlex on 7/17, Homicide threw a fireball aimed at Samoa Joe. However, Mark sacrificed himself and jumped in its path saving Joe. As a result Mark suffered burns. Now he is coming for revenge in that evening's chapter of The Briscoes vs. The Rottweilers feud.

August 18th: Allison Danger has raged out of control and has now signed Dan Maff & BJ Whitmer to wrestle twice at "Glory By Honor III." Maff & Whitmer will be faced with IWA Puerto Rico's Slash Venom & Chicano on the first half the card. Maff & Whitmer will then compete on Ultimate Endurance in the second half. Danger wants to see Maff & Whitmer destroyed. Danger still possesses Maff & Whitmer's contract from when they were in The Prophecy and has been signing them in dangerous matches.

August 18th: If ROH Tag Team Champions Rocky Romero & Ricky Reyes of The Rottweilers are available, they will defend the belts in Ultimate Endurance on 9/11 with the final fall being switched from Anything Goes to a Tag Title match. ROH should have word within the week on if Romero & Reyes will be on tour in Japan or not.

August 18th: Pure Champion Doug Williams made the Pure Title an international belt when he successfully defended it against international challenger Double C in England last weekend. Williams has done a great job raising the prestige of the Pure Title by first successfully defending it on consecutive nights on "Death Before Dishonor" weekend and now defending the belt in the United Kingdom. In fact, ROH World Champion Samoa Joe has taken notice of the Pure Title again. Joe has always insisted that the Pure Title means nothing next to his World Title. Joe has made a challenge to the Pure Champion for 9/11 that keeps a tradition started at last year's "Glory By Honor." Last year Raven and CM Punk picked each other's opponent. Joe has requested that this year he gets to pick the challenger for the Pure Title and the Pure Champion gets to pick his challenger. ROH officials have agreed, but both challengers have to come from the Contender's Ring.

August 19th: The first match has been signed for "Midnight Express Reunion" on October 2nd in Philadelphia at the National Guard Armory. "Generation Next" on May 22nd saw one of the most talked about tag team matches in ROH history as Austin Aries, Alex Shelley, Jack Evans & Roderick Strong formed Generation Next and defeated John Walters, Jimmy Rave & The Briscoes in a 40 plus minute match when Shelley made Walters tap out. Since that time Generation Next's feud vs. ROH regulars has heated up and it will explode on October 2nd. An eight man tag team ELIMINATION match has been signed as Generation Next of Evans, Strong, Aries & Shelley will take on a team of four. John Walters has already signed for the opposing team. Several members of the ROH roster are petitioning to be in this match so ROH will decide the other three in the upcoming weeks.

August 19th: Jay & Mark Briscoe are actually entering their Tag Title match vs. champions Ricky Reyes & Rocky Romero on August 28th in the Boston area as the favorites. Many feel they will walk out of Boston as three time Tag Team Champions. The Briscoes already hold one win over Reyes & Romero. This one is expected to break down into a fight after recent events. ROH is going to allow relaxed rules to prevent DQ's so we get a winner. Relaxed rules basically mean the ref will let more go, kind of like in the NBA when the officials let a couple of fouls go, so that we get a conclusive winner.

August 19th: ROH will make sure the 10/2 afternoon mini-card that will take place with the question & answer session with The Midnight Express will have some top names in important matches in addition to some "Do Or Die" style matches. The card will start at 2pm and the q&a with Jim Cornette, Bobby Eaton, Dennis Condrey & Stan Lane will begin right after.

August 24th: ROH Tag Team Champions Ricky Reyes & Rocky Romero of The Rottweilers are the fourth team in the 9/11 Elizabeth, NJ Ultimate Endurance match. The bout now pits Reyes & Romero vs. Loc & Devito vs. Jack Evans & Roderick Strong vs. Dan Maff & BJ Whitmer. It is an elimination match and each fall will have a different stipulation. The first fall with all four teams will be a Tap Out match, the second fall with the remaining three teams will be a Tag Team Scramble and the final fall with the last two teams will be for the Tag Titles.

August 24th: Sources close to John Walters have stated that Walters is really feeling the pressure to win the Pure Title this Saturday in his hometown of Boston. In fact, one of Walters' training partners stated that Walters might not ever be able to face his hometown fans, family and friends again if he loses. Doug Williams has done an incredible job raising the prestige of the Pure Title and momentum is in Williams' corner.

August 24th: Who is the true icon of ROH? We will find out this Saturday when a first fall wins it three-way takes place pitting Samoa Joe vs. CM Punk vs. Homicide. CM Punk can lay claim to the icon title for being in ROH's most historic feuds and perhaps the greatest match in ROH history at "World Title Classic." Punk proved he is a man of integrity when he saved Ricky Steamboat from Generation Next. Punk wants nothing more than to pin Samoa Joe and prove he can beat the World Champion to earn a future title shot. Homicide ruined the moment of the Punk vs. Joe match of the year candidate and raised the ire of Punk. There will be a lot of pride on the line in this one

August 29th: Since it was decided before that the World Champion would pick the challenger for the Pure Champion and vice versa for "Glory By Honor III" on 9/11 in Elizabeth, NJ, new Pure Champion John Walters has selected Doug Williams as Samoa Joe's challenger for the World Title. Walters picked Williams because Joe got in Williams' face before his 8/28 Pure Title defense. On the other hand, Samoa Joe has picked Jay Briscoe as Walters' opponent for the Pure Title. We will have more matches signed this week.

August 29th: Jushin "Thunder" Liger is set to make historic ROH appearances on 11/5 in the Boston area on 11/6 when ROH returns to Elizabeth. Tickets are now on sale for the 11/5 date. Tickets for 11/6 will go on sale at the 9/11 show. If you want premium 11/6 tickets we urge you to attend 9/11 to purchase them. Liger will be wrestling top notch opponents in the main events of both shows.

August 29th: Fast Eddie, Jack Evans and Trent Acid all sustained injuries in the insane Scramble Cage Melee on 8/28. ROH officials quickly decided after the show that there will never be another Scramble Cage Melee.

August 29th: Dan Maff & BJ Whitmer had to be seperated from Loc & Devito in the locker room after the 8/28 show. The issue between these two teams is getting intense.

August 29th: There was a lot of dissension among Special K after the show, most of which was caused by Izzy's new girlfriend who blamed everyone else but Izzy for the loss in the Tag Title match.

well, none the less, it was fucking awsome. I hope TNA could do something like this.

Ugg, when I saw that tallish girl w/ the short skirt (very good looking) start pushing becky bayless, i thought they might TRY and wrestle. One of the fairfield shows, becky and i think alexis laree or something started to push and shove and wrestled. It was painful to see her try and wrestle, and i sure didnt wanna see 2 ring valets try and wrestle in a roh ring. I really didnt get the whole thing, but mabye special k is splitting up?

yeah becky definitely should not wrestle. i read the other girl was lacey the IWA mid-south womens champ? so i would hope she would atleast be decent. but i really think at this point of teasing the special k break up for months they need to move on already.

i heard the rumors about liger coming in and must say another huge star for ROH is great. with steamboat, foley, liger, all the upcoming shows are shaping up to be must see events.

ROH notes from pwinsider.com:

At one point during the Scramble Cage Melee last night, Fast Eddie hit a Fall Away Slam off the top of a platform on Marcos into the ring. ROH has already announced that they won't be doing another Melee style match and they won't be using the Scramble Cage again until 2005. Jack Evans cut up his elbow pretty bad during the match. During the bout, it appeared Fast Eddie had injured his ankle but it was a storyline injury as opposed to something going wrong. The promotion had booked the Melee when it appeared H2Wrestling would be going head-to-head with them on 8/28, so they were locked into doing the concept. They don't intend to being it back out of mothballs, but never say never.

With Homicide's non-title win over Samoa Joe during a three-way last night involving CM Punk, ROH has announced it will be the last time this year that Joe and Homicide are in the same match. That doesn't mean anything about the feud, however.

Colt Cabana's head was wrapped up last night after the show, but he was OK.

Lacey, who works regularly for IWA Mid-South debuted last night as the girlfriend of Izzy from Special K. They are using her debut as a way to fuel the fire of dissension within Special K, which had been mounting since the end of their feud with The Carnage Crew last March.

As noted here last night on PWInsider.com, Jushin Liger will be working for the company on 11/5 and 11/6. I could easily see that will end up being the biggest doubleshot weekend of the company's history. Tickets for 11/5 are already on sale at www.ROHWrestling.com. Tickets for 11/6 will go on sale during the 9/11 event at the Rexplex. Between Mick Foley and Jushin Liger, it's almost as if the Midnight Express reunion has been overshadowed, which is a shame as that looks to be an awesome event as well.

Added to the 9/11 ROH Glory by Honor 3 event in Elizabeth, New Jersey is ROH champion Samoa Joe vs. Doug Williams. The storyline explanation is that John Walters, the new Pure champion, has designated Williams as Joe's opponent. Joe has designated Jay Briscoes as challenger for Walters on 9/11 as well.

August 31st: VERY IMPORTANT: The September 11th show at the RexPlex will now start at 7pm with a ceremony for the victims of 9/11 at approximately 6:45pm. Doors will now open around 6pm. The change is a one night only request by the RexPlex due to other events at the building.

August 31st: Another huge match has been signed for 9/11 at the RexPlex in Elizabeth, NJ as "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson will take on Alex Shelley in a first time ever bout. Shelley wants a World Title shot and he will have to defeat Danielson to get it.

August 31st: Mick Foley has stated that he is coming to ROH for a distinct reason that he will reveal on 9/11. There is no telling what Foley has up his sleeve. He knows that when he comes to ROH he has to do something special

the cage match was your standard cage, but had 4 triangle shaped platforms at each corner, and to eliminate an opponent you needed to jump from the platform and jump onto the wrestler, then that wrestler was eliminated. There were 3 injurys, few people busted open, and some pretty sick moves. I recomend getting the tape of thi when it comes out if you liked that I described!
