Dude...what is your problem with her?

Seriously, you seem to have personal issues with Sara Palin. I know some of what you say is meant to be tongue in cheek, but you say it SO often you come across as completely bitter towards a woman who's biggest sin seems to be being in over her head. You'd think she owes you money or something. She's such an unknown, I don't think it's possible to even know enough about her to hate her or love her or elect her for that matter.

I don't agree with the ideas from say Barney Frank-but I don't wish the guy any harm. Sara Palin, however you feel about her, has nothing to do with the financial swamp we're in or the state of the Nation. She's a Governor from a goober state-not Adolph Hitler or George Bush.

maybe his problem with her is stuff like this:

Quote:
Baltimore Sun: McCain/Palin rallies starting to look like lynch mobs.

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/opinion/oped/bal-op.mccain10oct10,0,7557571.story

At a Sarah Palin rally, someone called out, "Kill him!" At one of your rallies, someone called out, "Terrorist!" Neither was answered or denounced by you or your running mate, as the crowd laughed and cheered. At your campaign event Wednesday in Bethlehem, Pa., the crowd was seething with hatred for the Democratic nominee - an attitude encouraged in speeches there by you, your running mate, your wife and the local Republican chairman.

John McCain, you're walking a perilous line. If you do not stand up for all that is good in America and declare that Senator Obama is a patriot, fit for office, and denounce your hate-filled supporters when they scream out "Terrorist" or "Kill him," history will hold you responsible for all that follows.

John McCain and Sarah Palin, you are playing with fire, and you know it. You are unleashing the monster of American hatred and prejudice, to the peril of all of us. You are doing this in wartime. You are doing this as our economy collapses. You are doing this in a country with a history of assassinations.

SHE didn't say it, did she?

She can no more be held responsible for the outbursts of some idiot in the crowd than the administrators can be for whatever anyone wants to write here. That's right up there with the logic of people who think video games and rap music are responsible for a lot of the violence in the country. In fact...it's probably a longer stretch.

There were plenty of rough treatment of the delegates from the general riff raff at the RNC this year as well. Hell, within Obama's OWN PARTY, Jesse Jackson said he wanted to cut off Obama's nuts. You know...a former Democratic Presidential candidate with a son who works for the Obama campaign?

Sandra Behrnhart recently said that she hopes Palin gets r.a.p.e.d. by a bunch of black guys when she visits New York. I have yet to see any condemnation from the Obama campaign for those stupid statements-nor do I care to, because Barrack Obama doesn't have ANYTHING to do with her. He has just about as much control over her-meaning none-as Palin and/or McCain has on people who attend their rallies and say stupid things.

People are stupid everywhere, on every side and everywhere in between.

As for McCain declaring Obama fit for office....if I'm in competition for a job, the last thing I'm going to do is talk up the competition. Hell, with less than a month to go, the candidates-both sides- are busy trying to get their mug on TV as much as possible and to think that they're going to waste valuable self promotion time on validating the other candidate is unrealistic and naive. The voters determine who the most qualified is, and Obama seems to be doing a fine job at convincing the people he needs to that he's the man for the job.

Her reaction to a "Puppies" chant might be interesting.

The batteries was something Philly fans did a while ago, so it was really in jest.

But to answer your question, I have a big problem with her. She represents to me the anti-intellectual strain of conservative politics that is quite frankly very dangerous. Her constant argument that having a family, or being a mayor of a small town is akin to the challenge of being a President, and the millions who seem to agree with her, scares me half to death. I realize she was picked my McCain and didn't lobby for the job, so I have some sympathy in that regard, but quite frankly her "pitbull" persona, and outright lies about Obama and Democrats is offensive.

I want her to be absolutely discredited, so that noone else brings someone like this to the national stage again.

On a more personal level, I have had to deal with these PTO lunatic mothers in my town, and have seen their forays into the political arena. They almost always have an agenda that centers around their and their family's interests to the exclusion of the community at large. So I am probably directing some of those feelings toward Mrs. Palin for that reason as well. I was raised in a family where my parents would always look to fairness of all kids, sometimes to our detriment, and frankly I think that is a better way to look at it.

I wish her no harm, but I will mock her every opportunity I get, unapologetically.

She hasn't done enough to be discredited...which should discredit her enough as it is. I think that fact in some ways bothers Obama supporters...because they may feel it's somewhat hypocritical to attack her on that basis when they've spent the last 18 months warding off similar charges about their go to guy. To me...however inexperienced Obama may be, any comparisons to his experience being similar to hers is ludicrous though. She's the Governor of ALASKA...Christ, New York City-one city-is a more populous and complicated place to run and comparing running our Northern most state to Senatorial duty of the same time is so off base it's ridiculous.

To her credit... I've been fairly impressed with her ability to cram and learn on the fly-but you don't elect someone like that to our second highest office. I also think McCain not only insulted us but HER by picking her. I read in Newsweek yesterday that only recently was she allowed to bring on board her own people for the campaign. McCain not only put her on the ticket because he thought he could sure up the soccer mom vote with her...but I think he figured he could pretty much use her as a puppet. That isn't apparently happening, and while she created some excitement, I think there is a general feeling that they can't work together as he's a temperamental grouch and she's a lot more opinionated and stronger of will than he was bargaining for.

So...I think it's way too early to pass judgment on her either way. Let her serve a term or two as a Senator or a similar office where she has to be better informed to function before she starts being considered viable or non-viable at a national level.

New Hampshire's home town promotion!
