Brennan Lucas sent in the following:

Before the show started Mick Foley was signing autographs
out by the merchandise stand.

Shark Boy defeated Homicide

Rhino defeated Jay Lethal

Abyss defeated Dr. Stevie (Foley was involved during the
match)

Awesome Kong and Hamada defeated The Beautiful People
(Knockout’s Tag Team Titles Match)

Intermission (The Beautiful People did an autograph sessions
during it.)

Beer Money Inc. defeated British Invasion

AJ Styles defeated Daniels (Jeff Jarrett was the special
guest referee)

After the show, they did the usual $20 charge to get inside
the ring for a picture with AJ Styles.

Also Abyss, Jay Lethal, Shark Boy, Beer Money Inc, and Jeff
Jarrett came out and were signing autographs during the AJ Styles picture
thing.

Biggest pops – AJ Styles, Beer Money Inc and
Foley/Abyss (In my opinion.)

Biggest heats – British Invasion, Daniels and Homicide
(In my opinion.)
Great show in general, definitely worth every penny.

TNA "Maximum Impact" Tour house show results
January 23, 2010
Glasgow, Scotland
Report by Stewart Loosemore, Torch reader

The arena wasn't sold out. This was probably due to the £50/ $70 price tag. On a side note, they used the six-sided ring. Some guy came out and introduced Jeremy Borash, who was the announcer for the night. He tried to pump up the crowd by offering backstage passes to the loudest fans.

(1) X Division champion Amazing Red beat Chris Sabin. The crowd wasn't really into this, but I blame that on being match one. It was a good back-and-forth match with Red coming out with the win.

(2) Hernandez beat Rhino. I don't know why, but I can't seem to remember much about this apart from a Hernandez win.

(3) TNA Global champion Eric Young beat Suicide. Suicide was easily a crowd favorite and dominated most the match. The match ended when EY hit a low blow and then the piledriver for the win.

There was a 15-minute break after this match where the people who won passes were allowed backstage.

(4) TNA Knockout tag champion Hamada beat Sarita. This would have been the Knockout tag title match, but it turned into a singles match as Awesome Kong didn't come with the tour. I really enjoyed this match. It was a refreshing change to see a women's wrestling match with women who could actually wrestle. Hamada came out with the win.

(5) Kurt Angle beat Desmond Wolfe and Daniels in a three-way match. This was easily the match of the night. Angle won after all three men hit their respective finishers.

(6) Team 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon) beat British Invasion (Doug Williams & Brutus Magnus) and Beer Money (James Storm & Robert Roode) in a three-way Tables match. Each team came out and did a bit on the mic. The British Invasion came out complaining that they were getting booed in the UK and started insulting the Scottish parliament. Good heel promo. They were interrupted by Beer Money, who offered more backstage passes and finally Team 3D came out and announced that the match was now a tables match. This was pretty much a four-on-three match, as Beer Money and Team 3D focused on the three members of British Invasion. Team 3D won. After the match, they brought a young kid in and gave him a section of the broken table.

StylesAJ_130WK_1.jpg
(7) TNA World Hvt. champion A.J. Styles beat Samoa Joe. The referee was Earl Hebner. This was an amazing match and had great highpoints. It ended with a ref bump, and while the ref was down, Joe locked in the rear naked choke and Styles tapped out. Joe then let go to check on the ref and Styles hit a low blow, then the Styles Clash for the win.

At the end of the match, Styles cut a promo about siding with the dirtiest player in the game, Ric Flair. (Side note that the Genesis PPV was only available on BT Vision, which is only available in a couple thousand homes. I doubt many people were aware of the Styles heel turn, which surprised a few people on the night.)

Overall, a good night, and I hope they come back again, hopefully with a slightly cheaper price.

TNA "Maximum Impact" tour house show report
January 27, 2010
Cardiff, Wales
Report by Evan Jones, Torch reader

TNA's house show was awesome and so much better than the WWE Raw or Smackdown shows I've seen in Cardiff. I should add that Jeremy Borash was the host for the evening and he gave out a lot of backstage passes. Also the ring was six-sided, which was nice! The order of matches, as far as I remember, was as follows.

Sabin_Torch_14.jpg
(1) X Division champion Amazing Red beat Chris Sabin and Suicide in a three-way match. This was an great match full of big spots, high-flying moves, and general mayhem. Amazing Red won with his finishing maneuver off the top turnbuckle.

(2) Sarita & Taylor Wilde beat Beautiful People (Velvet Sky & Madison Rayne) with Hamada as special referee. Good, fun match with the BP showing off their assets a lot.

(3) Rob Terry beat TNA Global champion Eric Young to capture the Global Title. This was well set-up. They announced that Rob Terry was from Cardiff, Wales, so the crowd went mental and supported him. EY did some anti-Welsh, pro-English stuff on the mic, which pissed off the audience. Terry then won the title to a massive pop.

AngleKurtArt_130GG_78.jpg
(4) Kurt Angle & Team 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon) beat TNA tag champion Hernandez & The Pope & Rhino in a Tables match. It was brilliant how they introduced Kurt. Team 3D did their entrance and they said they found a partner. They talked up their partner as "some young guy with a lot of potential who we may or may not have heard of," which kept the audience guessing. After about five minutes, the lights went off, there was a 10-second pause, and Angle's music hit to a big pop. The crowd kept chanting, "We want tables," so Angle got on the mic and said, Wwell the fans don't want an ordinary match, so lets give them what they want!" At the end, Rhino took an Olympic slam through the table.

(5) Beer Money (James Storm & Robert Roode) beat British Invasion (Doug Williams & Brutus Magnus). There were lots of crowd chants supporting Beer Money, who inevitably won in a good match.

(6) Samoa Joe beat Daniels in an I Quit match. This was a surprise, as the main event that had been advertised was A.J. vs. Samoa Joe. Good match, though. Joe was very much the fan favorite. Joe eventually made Daniels give up in his submission finisher.

(7) TNA World Hvt. champion A.J. Styles beat Desmond Wolfe to retain the TNA World Title in the main event. The match was given a 60-minute time limit and they went about 25 minutes. Awesome match. A.J. was very popular (despite the heel turn on TV). They presented him as the babyface in this match because of Desmond Wolfe's London connection. Wolfe played up to this very well, slagging off the Welsh. A.J. finished him with the Pele kick followed by the Styles Clash. He had previously taken the Tower of London to tease a victory for Wolfe, but Styles was too close to the ropes.

TNA Maximum Impact Tour Coventry results 28th January

TNA Wrestling
continued with its TNA Maximum Impact Tour in Coventry in the United Kingdom. This was a show that had a fan interaction at the start of the event. I attended the fan interaction, 2 hours before the actual house show started and got to see the likes of Kurt Angle, The Pope, Amazing Red, Brutus Magnus, Doug Williams, Earl Hebner, Chris Sabin, Taylor Wilde and Sarita. I got their autographs and spoke to a couple of the stars. Chris Sabin was a nice guy willing to chat to everyone. The Pope was acting in his gimmick and loves the fans. Kurt Angle seemed really tired but told him, he is the best wrestler in the world. All of them seemed happy to interact and talk to the fans, but Earl Hebner did not seem interested and looked miserable.

The Coventry show was held in the Coventry Sky Dome that holds 3,000 fans, was attend by about 1,600. This is way down when they last attended Coventry back in 2008, which was a complete sell out. However the audience was really into the action and they were really happy to see TNA. They were very loud throughout the show and really enjoyed seeing the likes of Kurt Angle and AJ Styles
.

Dixie Carter was really happy to be there and she gave a speech during the intermission thanking the fans for attending the event and said that Coventry was where it all started in the UK for TNA, when they first started touring the UK.

The audience gave the biggest reaction to Kurt Angle and was the wrestler everyone wanted to see and they also gave a big reaction to Team 3D. The matches on the show were very good and really enjoyed the show, better than a regular Impact show. The better matches were AJ Styles Vs Samoa Joe, Desmond Wolfe Vs the Pope. My favourite match of the night was Kurt Angle and Hernandez Vs Rhino and Daniels, the reason for this is because Kurt Angle was well over and he made the match strong. They did a match where Hamada faced Amazing Red, which was a bit strange, but it was a good match and Hamada really worked her socks off. Doug Williams was holding the X Division title during the show and Rob Terry was announced as the TNA Global Champion. Overall a very good show and was well worth the money.

The results of the show are as follows:

Suicide defeated Chris Sabin.

The Beautiful People (Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky) defeated Taylor Wilder and Sarita.

The Pope D’Angelo Dinero defeated Desmond Wolfe

Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) and Beer Money (Robert Roode and James Storm) defeated British Invasion (Rob Terry, Brutus Magnus, and Doug Williams) and Eric Young. This was a tag team gauntlet match.

Amazing Red defeated Hamada.

Kurt Angle and Hernandez defeated Rhino and Daniels.

TNA World Title Match: AJ Styles defeated Samoa Joe.

TNA "Maximum Impact" U.K. tour house show report
January 29, 2010
Manchester, U.K.
Report by Daniel Dalgetty, Torch reader

The Manchester Evening News arena seemed quite full, but they weren't using all of the bleacher seating. The higher tier was curtained off. As on other nights, Jeremy Borash warmed up the crowd first (there was obviously a slight screw-up backstage as JB came out to Earl Hebner's entrance video).

(1) Amazing Red beat Suicide and Chris Sabin in a pretty decent X Division match.

(2) TNA Global champion Rob Terry beat Eric Young to retain the Global Title. Rob Terry was extremely over, but small groups of people chanted, "You can't wrestle."

(3) The Pope beat Rhino in a mediocre match.

(4) TNA World Hvt. champion A.J. Styles beat Samoa Joe, Daniels, and Hernandez in a four-way match to retain the TNA Title. It was an odd decision to have the match so early. A.J. cut a heel promo saying he wouldn't participate in a ladder match, so this turned into a standard four-way match, with tags being necessary. Very good match, but it's a shame it wasn't given more time. Joe was the most over.

Intermission followed with TNA president Dixie Carter doing the whole "thanking the fans" bit, accompanied by her Twitter friend Jane. (Jane came with myself and my good friend Davey. A little insider knowledge for you - she was very, very drunk!) Dixie also had a small boy with her who seemed absolutely terrified.

(5) Kurt Angle beat Desmond Wolfe in a very solid match. Angle was extremely over, but there were Wolfe chants also. Great promo from Wolfe before the match, but being a big fan, my opinion may be a tad biased. Again, I would have liked more time, but I could watch these guys wrestle all night.

(6) Sarita & Taylor Wilde beat the Beautiful People (Madison Rayne & Velvet Sky) with Hamada as special referee. Knockouts were in action next. Good crowd reaction with lots of lustful chanting from the male fans. Decent enough Knockout match, but I'd have much rather have seen Kong.

(7) Team 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon) beat Beer Money (James Storm & Robert Roode) and British Invasion (X Division champion Doug Williams & Brutus Magnus) in a three-way tables match. Team 3D turned the main event in to a tables match. 3D was pretty over, but Beer Money were the crowd favorites. Team 3D got the win with a 3D through the table on Magnus, followed by the pin.

All in all, a pretty decent show. It was nice to see the backbones of TNA putting on a solid show with not an elderly broken down "legend" in sight.

http://www.wrestleview.com/news2009/126 ... style=dark

They used the same setup as the rest of the tour - six sides, video screen and scroller, plus the Ultimate X structure.

Beautiful People beat Sarits and Wilde after Velvet used perfume... Hamada was guest ref...

Desmond Wolfe over The Pope... Tower of London won it. Both guys over huge, Pope worked heel.

Samoa Joe and Hernandez over Eric Young and Rhino when Joe hit the muscle buster on Eric.

Beer Money beat 3D and Magnus/Terry after Magnus took a suplex
powerbomb. Post match 3D put Terry thru a table. British Invasion
worked as heels... 3D put over Beer Money huge too...

Doug Williams retained X Division title in insane ultimate x match vs
Suicide, Sabin, Red and Daniels. Plenty of crazy spots - Daniels got
slammed onto the structure above the X before Suicide dropped and got
crotches on the cable as Williams grabbed the belt.

AJ Styles retained TNA title over Kurt Angle after a brainbuster on
the belt. Ref bumps ahoy... Earl Hebner came in to slow count Kurt,
then he got the ankle lock. Decent match but not what they can do.

Decent show but not as special or a hot a crowd as last year.

TNA house show report
February 6, 2010
Joplin, Missouri
Report by Mike Feiveson, Torch reader

I attended the TNA house show in Joplin on Saturday night and it was a pretty good crowd for the area. The event was held at Memorial Auditorium with what appeared to be a sell-out crowd of a couple thousand. Don West was hawking merchandise and Team 3D was signing programs before the show.

(1) Chris Sabin beat Jay Lethal in 12:00. Both wrestlers played to the crowd. They used all their moves and had quite a few near pins. Sabin won at about 12 minutes with his off the tope rope DDT.

(2) Knockouts champion Tara beat ODB in 10:00 with Shark Boy as guest referee. Very good match. Back and forth and Tara had the stronger crowd reactions. ODB had Tara down for most of the match, then Tara won with the Widow's Peak. After the match, ODB complained to Shark Boy and got a stunner. Pretty funny.

(3) Samoa Joe beat Abyss via submission in 14:00. Samoa Joe was way over with the crowd. Basic Samoa Joe match. He used all his moves and it was a good back-and-forth with a lot of nearfalls. Joe won with his rear naked choke submission.

Earl Hebner came out to ref a match, but Jeremy said he was suspended by Hulk Hogan, so they escorted him to the back.

(4) TNA tag champions Matt Morgan & Hernandez beat Team 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon). Best match of the night. Back and forth for the first few minutes, then 3D worked over Morgan for a few minutes. Hernandez then came in and cleaned up. The finish saw 3D throw Hernandez out of the ring to work on Morgan, but Morgan put down Bubba and Hernandez flew off the top rope with a splash and the win.

(5) The Pope D'Angelo Dinero beat Desmond Wolfe. The Pope was way over with the crowd. Back-and-forth to begin with Wolfe putting down the USA verbally. After nearfalls each way, The Pope won when he did his charging knees in the corner after lowering his kneepads to clobber Wolfe and score the pin.

(6) Jeff Jarrett beat Mr. Anderson. Anderson was controlling Jarrett the whole match. Jarrett then got in his offense before Slick took a bump. Wolfe then came to ringside and grabbed a chair, but hit himself with the chair after missing Jarrett against the ropes. Hebner came back in and stopped Jarrett from using the chair. Slick came to and got Hebner out of there. The finish saw both Jarrett and Anderson try their finishers and Jarrett reversing Kennedy for the pin.

Overall, a great show. TNA's house shows are much better than expected. Jeremy Borash did the ring announcing and worked up the crowd. They passed out backstage passes all night and had all the wrestlers come out for autographs after the show. Jarrett took pictures in the ring. Lockdown is in St. Louis in April, so maybe they will come back with a bigger crowd than expected.

Next week's TNA house show schedule includes two shows in the Mid-Atlantic territory prior to the Against All Odds PPV on Sunday.

A.J. Styles vs. "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero headlines Thursday night's show in Charlottesville, Va. Also advertised is a six-man tag match with Kurt Angle & Beer Money vs. Desmond Wolfe & The British Invasion.

Friday night's show in Norfolk, Va. features a rare house show appearance by Ric Flair with Styles scheduled to face Kurt Angle in the headline match. Flair's presence should boost interest for the show at the Constant Center on-campus at Old Dominion University.

The Norfolk show also features the complete Beautiful People past & present, Dinero vs. Daniels, and an X Division featured tag match of Generation Me (the Young Bucks) vs. Jay Lethal & Consequences Creed.

Re: TNA house show thread

New postby summer of George on February 13th, 2010, 8:30 am

2/12 TNA in Norfolk, Va.

1) Generation Me (Max & Jeremy) defeated Lethal Consequences (Jay Lethal & Consequences Creed) with their 450/moonsault combo. Nice athletic spots that popped the crowd. Good opener.

(2) Jesse Neal defeated Homicide with a facebuster type move. Neal came out with the American flag, but still had his heel look from the last time he was on TV. Norfolk is a big Navy town and he was introduced as a former Navy sailor to a huge pop. The crowd chanted "USA" at Homicide even though he was introduced as being from Brooklyn, N.Y., but he played into it like a true heel.

(3) TNA Knockouts champion Tara & Angelina Love defeated the Beautiful People (Velvet Sky & Madison Rayne & Lacey Von Erich) in a handicap match when Tara pinned Madison after a Widow's Peak. A man named Chase was introduced as Tara's manager. Not sure if this will play out on TV or just a local thing.

(4) "TNA Founder and The King of the Mountain" Jeff Jarrett defeated Daniels after the Stroke. Daniels did the old heel stalling to start out. Jarrett was over huge and you could see him smiling about it. Daniels was great as he hit three successful shoulder blocks and demanded the referee raise his arm in victory. Jarrett made a comeback and hit his finisher for the win. After the match, Jeff thanked the crowd for their support.

(5) Beer Money (James Storm & Robert Roode) defeated British Invasion (Brutus Magnus & X Division champion Doug Williams) with the Driving While Investing (DWI). Beer Money received the biggest pop up to this point and had one side of the arena chanting "Beer" and the other "Money." As a side note, there was a guy wearing a blue amateur style singlet with one strap pulled down imitating the Big Show, but he looked more like Adam Pearce. You had to be there to see it.

(6) "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero defeated Desmond Wolfe with DDE double knee smash. The Pope just has this charismatic aura about him that makes you want to cheer him. On the opposite side, Desmond portrays the cocky heel very well so. They played off each other very well.

Earl Hebner was introduced as the referee for the main event, but some guy with a headset told JB that Hebner was suspended by Hulk Hogan. Security came into the ring and escorted Earl out of the building while the crowd chanted, "Na na na na, hey, goodbye." Slick Johnson replaced him as the ref.

(7) TNA World Hvt. champion "The Phenomenal" A.J. Styles (w/Ric Flair) defeated Kurt Angle after a belt shot to retain the TNA World Title. This match got the most heat of all and they even had the formal ring introductions by JB. Loud "Whooos" for Flair every time he interfered. He even grabbed the house mic and yelled, "Shut Up!" The crowd just whoo'ed again. Funny. There were also dueling chants of "Let's Go Kurt" and "Let's go A.J." dueling chants. A.J. hit the Pele kick, his back flip into inverted DDT, and his springboard forearm smash. Kurt hit his overhead belly-to-belly and three consecutive German suplexes, but when he tried his running belly-to-belly while his opponent is on the tope rope, he slipped and almost came down on his head. They were able to adjust in mid-air. The finish saw Angle apply the anklelock, but Flair pulled the ref out of the ring. Angle chased Flair into the ring, but Ric gave him two low blows. The crowd chanted "No more babies." Angle made a comeback and had Ric in the anklelock when A.J. hit him with the title and made the cover. A.J. had this great look on his face as he clutched the title like he thought he would never hold it again. After the matched, Kurt thanked the military members in attendance and thanked everyone for watching Impact on Thursdays and to continue watching on Mondays real soon.

JB informed the crowd that it was not over. The babyfaces would be coming around the ring to sign autographs and take pictures while Ric Flair would be in the ring taking pics for $20. Flair came out and said no matter how hard he tried to get everyone to boo him, they wouldn't. He talked briefly about his history in Norfolk and then proceeded to take pictures in what was a long line. Even though there is a PPV in two days, none of the wrestlers looked like they were phoning it in. Everyone put in a good effort and the crowd was hot throughout the show.

TNA house show report
March 13, 2010
Pittsburgh, Pa. at Ches-A-Rena
Report by William Wellek of Latrobe, Pa., Torch reader

TNA finally made their debut in Pittsburgh (actually, Cheswick, Pa.) at the sold out Ches-A-Rena. I'd estimate the crowd at 1,000, give or take about 100. They were one of the hottest small house show crowds that I ever heard. They really made themselves part of the event and the wrestlers seemed to acknowledge it.

(1) Kazarian beat Amazing Red in a great opening match. It was the second best of the night in my opinion.

The crowd started a very loud RVD chant between the first and second match, which Jeremy Borash acknowledged. Not much reaction when JB mentioned Jeff Hardy, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, or Mick Foley...but, RVD, wow! Take note, TNA management.

(2) Rhino beat Dr. Stevie in a "what you would expect" sort of bout.

(3) Knockouts tag champions The Beautiful People (Velvet Sky & Madison Rayne) beat Taylor Wilde & Sarita to retain the KO tag titles. Sarita was pinned by I believe Velvet Sky, but I'm not totally sure about that because a guy with big hair blocked my view at the worst possible time. During the match, Earl Hebner was attired in his "Hell Yes I Did" shirt and snuck in a kiss from one of the Beautiful People
. What a lucky guy!

(4) Abyss beat X Division champion Doug Williams in a non-title match. Williams declared the X Division match was "non-title" and he proceeded to get pinned by Abyss.

Intermission. Note to Don West - the $20 specials with the four DVDs and a t-shirt is the best thing going today. However, isn't there some sort of way for people being allowed to exchange a DVD if they get a double from a previous show? Maybe a large exchange bin? Taylor Wilde and Sarita had a HUGE autograph line and security was telling people to move as soon as they got their pictures and autographs. The problem with this was there was no place to move to and the table was set up close to the merchandise stand AND between the men's room and the snack bar. I'm very surprised somebody wasn't injured due to the congestion. Earl Hebner was signing his "Hell Yes I Did" shirt at the merchandise table. I gave him a piece of paper to sign so he wouldn't sign the shirt because doesn't marker fade and make a mess when you wash a white shirt?

Back to the show...

(5) TNA Global champion Rob Terry beat Brutus Magnus in mere seconds to retain the Global Title. We didn't even see a single move in the match. I was checking my cell phone and the next thing I heard was the bell ringing to end the match. That sucks considering that you PAY to see wrestling.

JarrettJeffArt_130GG_4.jpg
(6) Jeff Jarrett & The Pope beat Beer Money (James Storm & Robert Roode). The Pope took the victory by pinning Roode. Very entertaining match as far as the crowd goes. They seemed to be split down the middle as to who to cheer for. Jeff got a very nice "Thank You, Jeff" chant and he looked pretty pleased about it. James Storm had his trunks pulled down around his butt for the absolute longest time that I have ever seen this stunt pulled. I'm surprised the cops didn't show up and arrest him for indecent exposure. Storm and Roode had the crowd eating out of their hands and it's a wonder TNA doesn't do more with them.

The main event - and what everybody was waiting for - was Kurt Angle vs. A.J. Styles. However, Styles came out first and declared it a non-title match.

AngleKurtArt_130GG_6.jpg
(7) Kurt Angle beat TNA World Hvt. champion A.J. Styles in a non-title match. Kurt won with the Angle Slam at the 15-minute mark in what was the best match of the night by default. They've had better matches, but it was all about Kurt coming home, so they had to get him the clean win or else there might have been a riot. Styles took the mic after the match and said he might not like Kurt but he respects him. He offered to shake hands and when Angle reached out, A.J. did the old pullaway. Afterwards, Kurt brought his children into the ring to get some props and the show ended with the usual TNA autograph push with a chance to get pictures around and in the ring.

Final thoughts - I really enjoy TNA house shows. I was hoping to see Desmond Wolfe, though. They must have given him the night off. This is what WWE should be doing at smaller venues such as this with some of their workers who don't get enough ring time. Gyms, small hockey rinks, anyplace that has to wait months and months to get a big show close to them. Get your guys out there and work the smaller towns and do some barnstorming, Vince! The last time I saw a TNA show at Johnstown, Pa., I meet Don West in the men's room and that didn't happen this time around. I think he was avoiding me for some reason...just kidding. He was too busy working his tail off and I didn't have a chance to remind him of our first meeting. As I was walking out of the building, Jeff Jarrett was at the autograph table and Earl Hebner was still at the merchandise table signing his shirt. Great show from TNA.

Re: TNA house show thread

New postby summer of George on March 14th, 2010, 8:51 am

TNA has booked Rob Van Dam for his first weekend house show tour on Thursday, April 22 and Friday, April 23 in Georgia.

Coincidentally, tickets went on sale yesterday for the tour, which includes Macon on Apr. 22 and Albany on Apr. 23. TNA president Dixie Carter made the announcement on Twitter today.

One of the key reasons RVD expressed interest in TNA prior to signing with the company was the favorable travel schedule compared to WWE.

TNA has a good schedule right around Lockdown on April 19, though, which will allow RVD to make an official TNA tour on the other side of the country from his home in Southern California.

-- Apr. 17: Lockdown Fanfest in St. Louis
-- Apr. 18: Lockdown PPV
in St. Louis
-- Apr. 19: Impact live in Orlando
-- Apr. 20: Impact taping in Orlando
-- Apr. 21: Rest/travel day
-- Apr. 22: House show in Macon
-- Apr. 23: House show in Albany

TNA house show report
March 14, 2010
Wheeling, West Virginia
Report by Trent Cunningham, Torch reader

This was the first time TNA has come to the Wheeling/Moundsville area, so this was a really great event. As far as attendance goes, it was between 85 and 90 percent full and there was a great energy throughout the crowd. I don't think the audience has a very wide knowledge of the TNA product, but I'm really excited that people came out to see the show. Don West was in great salesman form and Jeremy Borash got the show going.

(1) X Division champion Doug Williams beat Amazing Red and Kazarian in a three-way X Division Title match. This was a great match to introduce the X Division to those who were unfamiliar and there were some really good spots. Williams retained.

(2) Rhino beat Dr. Stevie. Stevie came down to a resounding "B-W-O" chant, which got a good laugh from me. After Rhino came out to a great pop, "E-C-W" chants were popping up. The really interesting point in this match was when Stevie mocked Rhino's gore set-up, but missed and Rhino hit one for himself for the win.

(3) Knockouts tag champions The Beautiful People (Angelina Love & Velvet Sky) beat Taylor Wilde & Sarita. This match was pretty forgettable. The number one, most-heavily-used move in this match was the armdrag - several in a row, no matter what team was on the offensive strike. There were some pretty sloppy spots from Taylor and Sarita, which really surprised me. Beautiful People retained.

(4) Abyss beat TNA World Hvt. champion A.J. Styles; Styles retained the TNA World Title. The first thing I noticed was that neither competitor got much of a pop. Later in the match, A.J. started to get momentum and the crowd got behind him. Despite A.J. getting blatantly DQ'ed, Abyss got to "Hulk up" and get some revenge.

Intermission allowed for some autographs and merchandise was sold.

(5) Global champion Rob Terry beat Brutus Magnus. Squash. Pure and simple. Magnus tried to get the crowd to shut up and allow him to sing his National Anthem when Rob hit the ring. Little to no offense from Magnus, but Rob looked pretty good in the ring. Big Rob retains.

(6) Pope D'Angelo Dinero beat Desmond Wolfe. Great match. Wolfe came out to pretty strong heat and worked the crowd pretty well. Pope came out to a HUGE pop, largely due to the fact he was interacting with the crowd during autographs. Desmond kept up the work he did on Pope's leg last Monday and locked in some solid submissions. Good back and forth exchanges with another huge pop when Pope picked up the win.

(7) Jeff Jarrett & Kurt Angle beat Beer Money (Robert Roode & James Storm). Huge pop for Jarrett and especially for Angle. Good humor in this match with interactions from Earl Hebner and James Storm. Jeff tore up both Beer Money t-shirts and wiped both his and Hebner's ass with them. Match was pretty gimmicky, with lots of awkward moments from the members of Beer Money. Also, let it be said that I never wanted to see that much of James Storm as we did.

Biggest Pops:

-- Kurt Angle/Jeff Jarrett (tie)
-- Pope D'Angelo
-- Rhino

Biggest Heat:

-- Desmond Wolfe
-- Beer Money
-- Brutus Magnus

TNA house show report
March 18, 2010
Hattiesburg, Mississippi
Report by Scott Atwood, Torch reader

I just got back from the TNA show at the Lake Terrace Convention Center in Hattiesburg, Miss. The place was packed and there appeared to be about 1,200 people in the place. The crowd was hot most of the night up until the main event when I think we were all getting a little tired. Here is a rundown of the happenings of the night.

Jeremy Borash came out to excite the crowd with promises of backstage passes. He did this several times during the night and throwing out some to random people, promising that whoever cheered the loudest would get the pass.

(1) Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) beat Generation Me (Jeremy Buck & Max Buck). The crowd was super hot for the opening match and ate up every move from these guys. The Guns got the win in usual fashion. Great opening match.

(2) Knockouts champion Tara beat Daffney to retain the Knockouts Title. The match was slow and sloppy at times. Tara got the win with a roll-up.

(3) X Division champion Doug Williams beat Daniels and Homicide in a three-way match to retain the X Division Title. The crowd was hot for this one also and was in love with Daniels, cheering him on the entire match. Williams got the win with the Chaos Theory rolling German suplex on Daniels.

Desmond Wolfe came out and cut a promo calling the crowd Mississippi morons and churned up some cheap heat, then began cutting into The Pope before settling on Jeff Jarrett. He said he was going to tear down TNA and start with the foundation, and that foundation is Jarrett.

(4) Jeff Jarrett beat Desmond Wolfe. There was a lot of playing to the crowd in this match. Jarrett was clearly the fan favorite and there were nothing but boos for Wolfe. Jarrett got the win clean.

Jarrett said on Twitter about the match: "Just got out of the ring w/Desmond. They don't make them like that anymore. He's not afraid to be the bad guy."

Jeremy Borash advertised merchandise before sending us to intermission.

After the break, Beer Money promised backstage passes, but not to anybody in Hattiesburg because we invented the toothbrush...and everyone should know that because if it were invented anywhere else, it would be called a teethbrush. Kevin Nash and Eric Young came out and Young showed more personality during this one night than I've witnessed his entire TNA career. The crowd also loved him, chanting his name on several occasions.

(5) Kevin Nash & Eric Young beat Beer Money (James Storm & Robert Roode). The match was full of comedy bits, mostly involving sexual innuendo and penis jokes from Beer Money. Apparently Robert Roode stuffs his trunks with a sock and Beer Money is equal to the Ambiguously Gay Duo. After all of the comedy, Nash hits his lazy powerbomb for the win.

(6) TNA World Hvt. champion A.J. Styles beat "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero to retain the TNA World Hvt. Title. Styles won with assistance from Desmond Wolfe. The crowd was completely worn out by the time the main event rolled around, so these two had a tough job keeping everyone involved. Good match with some mat work and a bit of back and forth. Both guys got a chance to get in their signature offense. Wolfe came down when Pope had the upper hand, caused a distraction, and gave Styles the quick win. There was a Pope beat down afterwards, but that was thwarted by Jeff Jarrett.

After the show, Generation Me, Eric Young, Daniels, and The Pope signed autographs. Jeff Jarrett stayed in the ring. For the low, low price of $20, you and your crew could get in the ring with him and take a picture that would be printed on the spot. All in all, a good show for a packed house. JB promised they would be back, and from the way the crowd stayed hot for practically the entire show, I believe him.
