[update] new calendar system

New postby eugene187 on December 7th, 2008, 1:31 am

our old calendar system was a mess and never worked the way it was supposed to. now if you would like to add an event you have 2 options but they both end up in the same area.

Option 1: you can click on the calendar link at the top of the page and add your event.

Option 2: you can attach a calendar event to any topic in any forum. create your event topic as you normally would and then click the "Associated Event" tab below to enter the information. you will have full permission to edit or delete your event as necessary. note: topics created this way can only be edited by editing the topic attached to them

enjoy and please post if you have any issues or questions

Shady, not sure who you emailed since I haven't received anyhting, not sure about Eugene. I believe the only way its working at the moment is option 2. Did you try that method?

Re: [update] new calendar system

I did some debugging of the calendar. I believe that the reason why the "Add Event" tab doesn't work is because the calendar.php page has two HTML elements with id="event-panel". Elements are supposed to have unique IDs. The following change seems to fix the issue when I tested it on a local copy. It gives the "Upcoming Events" section a different ID. (I haven't verified whether submitting new events from the fixed page actually works.)

Code: Select all
$ diff orig.html new.html
209c209
< <div class="panel bg2" id="event-panel">
---
> <div class="panel bg2" id="upcoming-panel">
